Xperia X10 :: Can't Install The Update?
Dec 7, 2010My phone keeps telling me to update my software but when I try to do this with pc companion it just says "unable install or start phone software component updates" why?

Xperia Mini/pro :: Update 4.1.B.0.587 - Neither Companion Nor Update Service Install
Oct 22, 2012I received a message on my XPeria Mini Pro about the 4.1.B.0.587 Update. In fact, I can not install it. When I start the PC Companion software, it finds the connected Phone. Then I click on update. In the following window I click "Accept" and then the software should prepare the PC for the update. But after one second it stops and returns to Start without any comment. When I start Sony Mobile Update Service then it checks for new updates. As soon as the check is over, the program terminates without any comment. Is there a third way to upgrade?
My config:
PC with AMD, Windows 7 64 Bit, 16GB RAM

My phone is encrypted and it didn't ask to unencrypt before applying the update, so I assume this is the reason it failed. So, installed the latest PC Companion on my Windows 7 laptop, it tells me that I'm on the latest version (connected via USB)... so... what now?

Mar 16, 2012When i try to ugrade my phone software i get the error message "Unable to install or start phone software update conponents" . i restarted phone, pc suite, reinstalled, but my phone is not getting upgraded. pc suit says latest upgrades are available. Even if i go for repair phone same option comes.
Hestory : last night i tried to upgrade my phone using Sony Update service. it ran upgrade and everything was new. all previously installed softwares are gone.
Symptoms: it shows android 2.3.4 version on phone but in PC suit while, upgrade using pc suite it says vrsion 4 .a .XXX , and upgrading to 4.b.XXX ... then it proceeds and fails with error "Unable to install or start phone software update conponents" .

Sep 9, 2010I don't have Internet at home and I've been trying to update to 4.1 manually... But it wont let me! I direct downloaded the correct file, then plugged in my iPhone. I selected the device in itunes10 and the. Held down "option" and clicked "update" I selected the downloaded file and it looked like everything was working. But, then it said that it couldn't install the update because it couldn't reach the apple update server... Isn't that the point? So t doesn't need to hit the server?

May 29, 2011looking around here a couple days ago I saw talk about the update rolling out 'soon', and I decided to check my phone and see if it saw any updates. Jan 14, 2010Want to install the latest update PR.1.1 that came out today, but despite removing every application installed on there (something that I only did 4 days ago with the last update, then spent time re-installing them), I still can't install it.
I've re-installed Conky and can see that I only have 33mb free in Root, but have no idea what's in there filing it up. Does anyone have any ideas?I can't flash it through NSU, as that says that I have the latest version at the moment already, when I know that to not be the case...
