After the upgrade that had been issued for the Z5 I am not able to install apk's from unknown sources. When I try installing it, it shows the install button but it's not active and can't be pressed on! Tried to press on it several times but it doesn't react. The cancel button is active though.

I've updated my Xperia mini pro to ICS 4.0.4 Build 4.1.B.431 a few weeks ago. I just noticed that I can't find the checkbox to allow me install programs from unknown sources/not directly from market. When it was still Gingerbread, I can access the checkbox from Setting > Application. how can I access this checkbox in ICS?

I'm bootloader unlocked, twrp installed, rooted (systemless root) and decrypted and also "unknown sources" is turned on in settings. I cant install some app cos of this.

I can look at all permissions and cancel but not install. I have tried several apps and all have the same result. I have tried from a download and from my app monster backup.

I have spent a lot of time downloading stuff only to find that it is "not supported" or doesn't work for a variety of other reasons. Very frustrating. The Vodafone and SE sites are fairly limited in depth. SE is also so slow it is almost not worth opening. Today I downloaded two jar files. One worked and the other didn't. I have no idea why. However 50% is a good ratio based on the experience I have had of trying to get anything to work on my vivaz.

When attempting to do this the phone displays 'installation unsucessful'. I also get this message when trying to update some of my apps.Occasionally i will get an app to install but it rarely.I have tried clearing cache and data from the market app and also changed my googlemail address and also changed my googlemail password etc.This is a massive let down as apps is obviously one of the main reasons that i purchased an android phone.

It says to try updating my phone but my phone is already updated. I don't know what to do. Someone suggested a factory reset and I did and I lost everything because I thought I had it backed up to my SD.

When I start the PC Companion software, it finds the connected Phone. Then I click on update. In the following window I click "Accept" and then the software should prepare the PC for the update. But after one second it stops and returns to Start without any comment. When I start Sony Mobile Update Service then it checks for new updates. As soon as the check is over, the program terminates without any comment. Is there a third way to upgrade?
