I am having massive problems using my desire with apps from the market. The problem is not downloading apps it is that the phone will not install them after the download. When attempting to do this the phone displays 'installation unsucessful'. I also get this message when trying to update some of my apps.Occasionally i will get an app to install but it rarely.I have tried clearing cache and data from the market app and also changed my googlemail address and also changed my googlemail password etc. This is a massive let down as apps is obviously one of the main reasons that i purchased an android phone.
Any time I try to download apps or update them they won't install and I get the same error message: "We're having trouble installing the app..." It says to try updating my phone but my phone is already updated. I don't know what to do. Someone suggested a factory reset and I did and I lost everything because I thought I had it backed up to my SD.
None of my pictures will show up either and when I take new ones they are pixelated and different colors.
Closed and opened deleted cache and force stop in googleplay couldn't find download manager apps from google play, I did all i found answered for others and it doesn't work!
Unable to install or update apps. While attempting to update, received the following msg: "Update for xxxxxx could not be downloaded due to error(921)". Xoom WiFi only, Android ver. 4.0.4, Build # IMM76 Android phone is able to install and update apps on my home WiFi network.
I cannot install Microsoft Apps software update to my Nokia 700. I've tried to install it through Nokia Suite and through software update app in the phone without success. Several tries and all I get is "Error in installing try again later." Latest Social update was successful at the same time.
After the upgrade that had been issued for the Z5 I am not able to install apk's from unknown sources. When I try installing it, it shows the install button but it's not active and can't be pressed on! Tried to press on it several times but it doesn't react. The cancel button is active though.
I bought HTC Desire HD invisible-shield and installed it , but when i was installing it i didn't saw that there was dust on it now invisibleshield is instaled and under it yuo can see dust So can I remove invisible-shield, clean screen and install it again? I installed it yesterday .
i have a htc desire phone. When i try to download apps from the market, they are automatically installing in my phone memory. Can anyone please tell me the way to install them on my SD card instead. I'm currently running out of phone memory, so i have to install other apps on my sd card?
Just had a message on my phone saying that the phone memory was almost full, so I have been looking through the apps to see which I can get rid of etc, A lot of them won't let me transfer them to the SD card, any ideas why?
I got my lovely Desire HD. First Android phone and first HTC phone. I have had few issues. I had the lagg issue that people have, but seems to have gone for now. But I was wondering 2 things.
1. My screen goes off after 5-10 seconds of not using, how do I extend this?
2. Got loads of pre-installed apps, like soundhound, stocks etc. Can I remove these?
I've downloaded the same task killer onto my desire s as I had onto my hero but with the desire there are always several apps running minutes after I've killed them. I've had to configure the task killer to kill apps every 30 mins. I don't think the task killer is to blame as it works well enough on the hero but maybe android 2.2 is overriding it. The task killer is 'advanced task killer v1.9.6 build 76' by Rechild. Is this normal behaviour for android 2.2 or is the task killer app simply not coping?
I hate things like facebook and twitter however my desire hd sim free came with several apps installed i.e default ones.I have downloaded god knows how many file managers that let you uninstall apps however not yet found one that will let you uninstall the default ones. My second problem is that i am trying to delete the ringtones on the internal memory and also add my own to the list as it appears that you can only assign individualy ring tones to contacts that are the default tones is this correct? I can locate the files however the phone will not let me delete them add to them or modify them what so ever. Managed to now add ringtones to the default set so i can now use my own for individual contacts, just not managed to delete the default ones. I have just found something even more annoying the phone wont let me use my own text message alert i have stored on my phone anyone found a ay round this rather than using one from the net that the phone will let you download?i have also tried doing it via plugging it into my pc however it wont let you view the system files even by changing option to view system files under windows it will only allow viewing of the sd card.
I've been running my Desire S for about 6 months now. Just about set up how I like it. nnoyingly it has developed a problem where after playing with any app and pressing the home screen, 9 times out of 10 I get the white background with green HTC logo, then a "Loading..." message over the home screen. When I go back to the app I was *just using*, it acts as if I've opened it for the first time and forgets where I was, what pages I was on, which album I was currently listening to etc.I've tried a few things suggested by the Internet: - Restarting the phone (of course)- Removing all widgets from home screen in case one of them has crashed- Checking I am not regularly running out of ram- Checking I am not dangerously close to running out of iternal storage- Unmounting the SD card- Un-installed any app I've added in the past month- Checking none of the app icons have become duplicated on top of each other (??? hey I was getting desperate)I have also been keeping an eye on the Services tab but to be honest, things seem to restart so often in here that it is hard to identify which one is acting out of the ordinary.
I took this into the t-Mobile shop, explained that I know they are not HTC tech support but that they might have seen the issue before and have a bit of a clue with the phones they sell, explained what I'd done above and they came back with the most unhelpful of default cop-out answers: "Software update."Latest Android version available through t-mobile is 2.3.3 which I am on.TC Sense is at v2.1oes anyone have any ideas? I would really rather sort this out without having to factory reset my phone. Firstly as I had my phone pretty much set up how I wanted it, secondly I have so many apps for which I have no idea how to reliably transfer their saved info (mostly music creation apps with their own save formats/locations) and thirdly so that I know how to resolve this when it inevitably happens again.
I have just purchased a second hand HTC Desire HD, it is on 2.3.3 software which although fairly stable, is pants in quite a few ways, such as not being able to take screenshots!!
I cannot find a way to update it atall, phone is not rooted as I ave no idea how to do this and worried that following guides online will brick the phone.
how to update to 2.3.5 or even 4.0.3 (but would prefer 2.3.5) I was running 4.0.3 on my HTC Sensation and it was very buggy.
I recently updated to Android 2.3 it went smooth but since then I haven't been able to use my 3G or GPS. Even though they're both turned on from settings nothing happens.
I bought a carrier-independent sim-free Desire S and I've been really happy with it. Once it as announced, I was even looking forward to the 2.3.5 update, but I've not seen hide nor hair of it so far.Is there any way I can prompt the update? I'm assuming it's an OTA update but I've not seen anything so far. I've been checking manually every day for the last couple of weeks, but again nothing. Is there a way of narrowing down to a date as to when my particular phone is eligible for the update? Perhaps by serial number?
Im tired of my 2.2 and I want to try something new. I'm a newbie so is there anyway I can get a new ROM or something? Also I live in the US and I've tried to update to 2.3 but it gives me a model id error
I recently did the ICS RUU update from the HTC Dev site, all good generally but phone now suffers from severe lag at times, mostly during intensive 3D games but often during typing (I use SlideIt). Same games, same SlideIt, same phone, performance fine on Android 3, but I'm thinking of downgrading unless there is a fix for this. Games often pause themselves when the going gets tough, and sometimes bomb out to the home page.
I have an HTC Desire HD on TELUS as a carrier out of Canada. Was wondering where I can find the 2.3 Gingerbread update for my unit, If available.According to the built in updater, there are currently no updates available and HTC's website provides little in information regarding this as well.
I have a Desire HD on Vodafone in the U.K and I have done every system update so far without a hitch but the latest one released today seems to have given me some problems.
I left the phone alone and it carried on and did everything just as usual but after it had completed the screen now appears to be unresponsive.
I cannot swipe the bar down at the bottom and hence my phone is locked all the time. The only way to restart is to pull the battery out but even after doing that several times and also removing the sim card and mem card I still have the same problem each and everytime
A few days ago a system update became available for my Desire C but it doesn't seem able to download properly. I just get an error message saying there is a problem with my wifi/internet connection. Does anyone know what the problem might be, and how I can fix it?
I have just downloaded the new software and installed it and now my wifi doesn't work : although it connects very well to my router, no internet pages are loading, facebook isn't working either. It all works well if I turn the wifi off...
