HTC Desire HD :: 3G And GPS Not Working After 2.3 Update?
May 26, 2011
I recently updated to Android 2.3 it went smooth but since then I haven't been able to use my 3G or GPS. Even though they're both turned on from settings nothing happens.
I have just downloaded the new software and installed it and now my wifi doesn't work : although it connects very well to my router, no internet pages are loading, facebook isn't working either. It all works well if I turn the wifi off...
I recently got a new HTC Desire S from three, the GPS doesn't seem to be working properly at all, had complained to three and received a replacement, but still experiencing the same issue. tried GPS status, ... no GPS lock seems to be found.
I have just purchased a second hand HTC Desire HD, it is on 2.3.3 software which although fairly stable, is pants in quite a few ways, such as not being able to take screenshots!!
I cannot find a way to update it atall, phone is not rooted as I ave no idea how to do this and worried that following guides online will brick the phone.
how to update to 2.3.5 or even 4.0.3 (but would prefer 2.3.5) I was running 4.0.3 on my HTC Sensation and it was very buggy.
This has been happening for the last couple of weeks and I was hoping someone here would have an answer for me.very time I try to access my mail client I get the error message;Mail has stopped unexpectedly. Please tell HTC about this problem. To help HTC improve Mail, select 'Tell HTC' to send an error to HTC'I've hit Tell HTC and followed the prompts, but so far nothing has happened Because of this, I have started using the mail widget so I can view incoming emails, but I can't send emails or open my inbox. similar thing was happening with my messages for a while before this started. If I tried to access my messages from the app icon a similar message would pop up (I told HTC every time) I started using the messages widget which worked and finally the problem stopped altogether.
For no apparent reason my HTC desire has stopped receiving emails. Its been like that for a couple of days now. I have 25MB of internal phone memory left, which should be sufficient.
I have deleted my account amd tried reinstalling it, but that is not working either:
I followed the instructions here to set up the new accoutn using exchange:
How do I get Hotmail on my Android phone? - Get Hotmail on an Android phone
and also tried to do it using the pop server method:
I get the following error: Warning, Cannot connect to the remote server. Please check network settings and try again.
I just purchased this phone the other day & have been using it for a few days now. It seems that some of the features of the phone are not working correctly for me. have added some contacts (as google contacts) using the 'people' app & linked these contacts to their facebook profiles. Now when i browse my all contacts only a small selection of them show their most recent status update underneath their name. I can view the status updates from the other contacts if i select the person and select 'Updates & Events'. However if i try & do this to the contacts who do show their status updates in the main contact list, it says there are no updates for them.
I am new to this and not overly tech savy so pls excuse me in advance! I completed an upgrade on my Desire this morning when prompted to do so on the handset. Since then I have noticed my WIFI is not working. If I turn it on, it goes to "scanning" but has been doing this for nealry 2 hours. I have turned off and back on, also taken battery out for a few minutes and nothing.
I brought Desire C 2 months back, till 2days back it is fine with my ear phone, but suddenly left ear phone is not working suddenly. No twists in the wire & did nothing .I don't know what to do to resolve this problem. I want to know this is the HTC responsible to solve this issue.
I have had my 'HTC Desire S', for a few month's but, never used the camera. When i have chosen to use it does not work. I have spoken to 'T-Mobile' my service provider & all somebody from 'India', told me it could be a 'corrupted SD Card', which I find highly unlikely. So I contacted 'HTC UK', they were not much better & told me to contact my service provider.
I bought a carrier-independent sim-free Desire S and I've been really happy with it. Once it as announced, I was even looking forward to the 2.3.5 update, but I've not seen hide nor hair of it so far.Is there any way I can prompt the update? I'm assuming it's an OTA update but I've not seen anything so far. I've been checking manually every day for the last couple of weeks, but again nothing. Is there a way of narrowing down to a date as to when my particular phone is eligible for the update? Perhaps by serial number?
My Telus Desire is unlocked, rooted, and running on Rogers. With the stock ROM the 3G worked perfectly, everything was great. Now, I've flashed the phone with the proper radio for Froyo, got the proper SLCD Clockworkmod Recovery working, and flashed Cyanogenmod 6.0.0 RC2.Everything works great, but for some reason 3G isn't working at all. I've got the APN setup correctly for Rogers (internet.com, wapuser1, wap, blah blah blah), but still no dice. Data is turned on in the settings, but for some reason it isn't working. There's never any icon to represent it up top either.
it makes it impossible to use the slide out keyboard in low light as i can't see the keys. i'm not good enough to know where they all are . i phoned htc uk ( milton keynes ) and they gave me a ticket # so i sent it back. got it back 2 weeks later . they told me they replaced the mother board and it was fixed. imagine my surprize when on first use the backlight kept going out. -problem not fixed. so back on the phone. they said to send it back, so another ticket # and another 2 week wait. guess what?- they replaced the mother board and guess what / it still didn't work. so back on the phone , they said to send it in and gave me a ticket # this time i insisted they replace the phone as it was the 3rd time for the same problem. i waited for a reply and after 2 days they said they will replace it in 5 days of receipt of my phone. so i sent it back. 7 days later they tell me they received it and i was to wait 5 working days for new one to arrive. guess what ?- 6 working days and nothing. i was on the phone today to them and they said that it will bee 10 working days as they needed parts for it. well i said i'm supposed to be getting a new 1 and they said they are putting it together.. what a load of bull$#!?. so i wrote them a letter.
I have the handsfree headset that came with my Desire, now about 2 months old. A couple of days ago the control buttons on the headset stopped working, I can no longer remotely answer calls, or pause and change music tracks. The headset earphones and microphone still work, I can listen to music and use it for phone calls that have been activated from the phone itself. The headset itself has not received any damage, it hasn't been dropped in water or the like.efore I go out and buy a new headset I thought I'd better try and confirm if they were indeed at fault. Is there, for instance, a phone setting to disable the headset controls.
i just rebuilt my HTC DESIRE HD, and it all starts up fine and the screen is on but when i try to unlock it does nothing... as if the digitizer is not working? maybe?
Im tired of my 2.2 and I want to try something new. I'm a newbie so is there anyway I can get a new ROM or something? Also I live in the US and I've tried to update to 2.3 but it gives me a model id error
I am having massive problems using my desire with apps from the market. The problem is not downloading apps it is that the phone will not install them after the download. When attempting to do this the phone displays 'installation unsucessful'. I also get this message when trying to update some of my apps.Occasionally i will get an app to install but it rarely.I have tried clearing cache and data from the market app and also changed my googlemail address and also changed my googlemail password etc. This is a massive let down as apps is obviously one of the main reasons that i purchased an android phone.
I recently did the ICS RUU update from the HTC Dev site, all good generally but phone now suffers from severe lag at times, mostly during intensive 3D games but often during typing (I use SlideIt). Same games, same SlideIt, same phone, performance fine on Android 3, but I'm thinking of downgrading unless there is a fix for this. Games often pause themselves when the going gets tough, and sometimes bomb out to the home page.
I have an HTC Desire HD on TELUS as a carrier out of Canada. Was wondering where I can find the 2.3 Gingerbread update for my unit, If available.According to the built in updater, there are currently no updates available and HTC's website provides little in information regarding this as well.
I have a Desire HD on Vodafone in the U.K and I have done every system update so far without a hitch but the latest one released today seems to have given me some problems.
I left the phone alone and it carried on and did everything just as usual but after it had completed the screen now appears to be unresponsive.
I cannot swipe the bar down at the bottom and hence my phone is locked all the time. The only way to restart is to pull the battery out but even after doing that several times and also removing the sim card and mem card I still have the same problem each and everytime
A few days ago a system update became available for my Desire C but it doesn't seem able to download properly. I just get an error message saying there is a problem with my wifi/internet connection. Does anyone know what the problem might be, and how I can fix it?
How often does mail, friendstream and facebook update? It seem that it only check the mail every hour and facebook every 3 hours, friendstream doesn't update unless I tell it to. Is there any way to speed these up in an option I haven't found yet?
I got the HD a couple of days ago and upgraded the software the first evening I got the phone.. Then the WIFI just stopped working ( said I was connected but yet no pages would load which was very frustrating..)..Took phone back to shop and got a new one now , with 2.2 on it which works fine.. I know I am likely to get the warning for the udgrade tonight but I will probably not install it
Since February 12 my news widget doesn't update anymore. It keeps synchronizing but it always goes back to feb 12th. Shutting down or restarting the phone won't help, when i select subscriptions which i didn't use it still won't go past februari 12, 10:00 am. Twitter and weather widgets and such still work
I have strange problem with my HTC Desire HD (A9191) I updated to Android 2.3.5 some time ago and since then I have a problem. If my phone is locked, I can't answer incoming call from some numbers.
When there is incoming call and I pull the green ring to the bigger ring to accept the call, the phone wants to turn off and asks me to 'force close'. Of course, I can't answer the call anymore.
When there is incoming call and I pull the red ring to the bigger ring to decline the call, the phone totally freezes while still ringing. It keeps ringing for around 10-15 minutes and does not react to anything.
The problem does not occur when the incoming call comes when phone is unlocked (i'm using it at the moment of the call coming).
A week ago my T-Mobile G2 received its long-awaited Gingerbread update OTA. The update installed easily and I can happily report that Wi-Fi calling and other features worked quite well.
What I only learned as a problem a few days later is that now my car charger will not charge the phone at all. The T-Mobile branded car charger had worked previously and still works with other Android 2.2 OS phone just fine. But although the phone clearly recognizes the presence of the charger [because it switches to "Car Mode" when plugged in, a nice new feature in itself], it will not charge with the car charger at all. The T-Mobile G2 does charge fine with wall charges, just not in the car.
I have called T-Mobile and they are guessing this is a bug in Gingerbread.
Updated my phone to 2.29.405.5 the other day and noticed that video recording has gone from atrocious to down right intolerable. When they enabled 720p recording video became choppy but the sound was kinda alright now after the current update all my videos are coming out like one of those kung fu movies, voice and lips are not in sync and the sound is crap.
I have HTC Desire. I had some videos and pictures in my mobile. I never deleted them from my mobile, I just transferred them to my PC and with transfer they disappear. I can't see them in Gallery any more. Luckily due to the backup software Astro, i have got my Pictures back but I can't locate my videos anywhere. To remind you, I just transferred them, not deleted them from mobile.
