Just one thing I can't confirm. Does the bottom USB port have a slide dust cover like my SGS does?Looking at pics seems its just open and exposed. I know if i leave the cover open on my SGS it soon fills up with dust pretty quick!

View 3 Replies View Relatedjust got a samsung galaxy sII yesterday after updating from a htc incredible s..(which i found to be incredibily s**t). so far the samsung seems to be a nice phone. easy to use and very fast. theres only one thing thats causing me a bit of frustration, and thats that i cant seem to make my contacts appear with their profil pics in my message inbox next to their conversation threads. they all appear with the default silhouette. i've synced my facebook contacts with my phone contacts and done it both through the facebook app and the social hubb app. my background data and auto sync are activated aswell. i've tried using an app called syncmypix and that didn't work either. when a contact calls me their picture comes up, but im my messages their pics dont appear. i just got off the phone with a samsung representative and they told me i had to merge my contacts with my google account. so i did but this still didnt work, and then they told me its probably a problem with my network provider, which i think was just an attempt by them to get rid of me

Word documents are only partly opening on my SII. eg only the first two pages of an 8-page doc, or six pages of a 20-pager.he problem doesn't seem to be application-specific because it's the same in Polaris Office or OI File Manager. The files themselves are complete - if I connect the phone to a PC using usb and open the files on the PC, the documents open with all pages, but on the phone only the first few pages are shown.

1. Gotta have a microSD card.
2. Your pics need to be on the card. You can set the phone to automatically save to the card, or you can move the pics to the card using the options menu in your "My Pictures" section.
3. Plug the phone into the computer using the data/charge USB cable
4. If the phone wants to sync just hit "End."
5. Open Menu/Settings & Tools/Tools/USB Mass Storage
6. Viola, you can browse the contents of your microSD and remove the pics.
My mistake was I was looking in Menu/Settings & Tools/USB Mode to try and get the pics from the card. This activates the Sync mode, which is only for music, not pics.
