Does anyone know of a setting that will let this phone work as modem?I have the driver and dial up networking setup but no matter how I dial it it always says error 777 other computer not responding. I think something in the settings default disables it being used as a modem.Any ideas? Maybe something in the *#6984125*# menus?
View 1 Repliesbelieve the source of the problem to be a faulty install of ICS plus a later rooting, as the phone would intermittently go from Android Phone to Unable to Recognize USB Device, to just not being able to recognize the phone. I've uninstalled KIES along with the drivers and installed them back again to no avail. Is it possible to flash the phone with a working Android version without using the computer - through the SD card?

I heard I just needed to install iTunes on the Windows computer, but the latest version is to refined. I found iTunes 8 on the Apple support pages, but the download button wasn't linked anywhere. If iTunes 8 for Windows would be all I need - where do I get it?

I can do this no prob on my phone but its a WinMo (Mogul). not familiar with his phone.. Is this doable? If so can you point me in the right direction.

I already installed the driver for windows 7 and able to communicate with the phone with no problem; I have my USB cable for the U340; I followed the instrudtions on the web and set up a dialup networking for my PC. Username is the (10 digits of my cell)@mycricket.com, password is "cricket", the dial number is "#777". I always got "Error 678". I called cricket and they said I need to get in their boardband plan $45/mo. and get the USB modem in order to have internet on my PC. One reason I pay more for the mobile web is trying to use it on my PC, otherwise I will not do the mobile web since it takes forever to send an email with the phone.Is it because of the Samsung u340 won't work with the #777 OR I did something wrong?Any help will be appreciated

CALLING SIDE:
PC running Hyperterminal and T439 connected to PC with either Bluetooth or USB cable.
CALLED SIDE:
PC running Hyperterminal and either an internal PC data modem or a cellphone connected
with a USB cable.
CALLING SIDE: ATDT1234567 data (NOT voice) phone number of CALLED side
CALLED SIDE: RING ATA answer
CALLING SIDE: CONNECT 9600 data modems connected
CALLED SIDE: CONNECT
CALLING SIDE: type on keyboard to send data to CALLED side sending data is OK
CALLED SIDE: sees data that CALLING side typed
CALLING SIDE: does NOT see data that CALLED side typed receiving data FAILS
CALLED SIDE: type on keyboard to send data to CALLING side
When I use a MOTOROLA V3T instead of SAMSUNG SGH-T439, sending and receiving data is OK. Samsung technical Level 3 help says it is a carrier (T-MOBILE) problem. It does not seem to be a carrier problem if it works with a MOTO cellphone.
I have a 3 year old Nokia N72, in excellent condition except the paint. I dont have any problems with my phone as such for calling purposes.But I do have problems connecting to internet via my PC running windows 7. All the drivers are correctly installed but the phone wont dial a connection. I get the error.Error 692: There was a hardware failure in the modem (or other connecting device).
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I connected my lightning cable in my phone, suddenly the cable heated and immediately I took it off from the phone, the phone was working properly and it had about 8% charge. I left it for about 48 hours as I didn’t have the cable, It's had no power for some days since I lost my lightning cable - it's basically completely out of power. I've charged it once in the last week with a certified Apple lightning cable, but now it no longer responds to any cables at all.  I've tried with two different cables (neither are certified Apple cables, but both work well with their owner's iPhones) and the phone does not respond at all. I've tried charging through my computer and using a wall socket, but the phone does nothing, even after it's been plugged-in for more than 2 hours.

View 4 Replies View RelatedJust wondering, does anybody find on the s2 that the soft back key doesn't always respond? I'm sometimes having to tap mine several times before it responds and it's driving me bonkers.
Also, I have noticed that the android os is high on this phone and the strange thing is, the percentage seems to go up when the phone isn't actually being used for anything, as in, sat idle for a few hours. Just wondering what the average percentage should actually be with this phone.
My battery life is rubbish too. Thursday and Friday, it was fine but I didn't use the phone much at all. Today it was fine until 6pm, again, didn't really use the phone but this evening, I have been texting and it dropped 40% in three hours and I've had to put it on charge.
I'm not happy with this and will be contacting Samsung on Monday but before I do, would be interested to hear what other people are experiencing with the android os and back key. Battery life is more or less irrelevant as that varies from person to person according to usage. I'm just disappointed as I seldom had to charge my galaxy s before bedtime unless I tethered, which I hadn't done today until I had to put the phone on charge.
I can access the internet through my WiFi at home (I have AT&T wireless) or at AT&T hotspots (Starbucks, Sam's Club, etc.). However, when I'm somewhere that has non-AT&T WiFi (Chick-Fil-A, Panera, etc.), I can connect -- with a strong signal -- but I'm unable to access the internet. I get a message about the server not responding.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a Style 9670 running OS6 on the Sprint network.I upgraded to this phone about a month ago. approximately 2 weeks ago this error: application net_rim_bb_vvm(180 is not responding; process terminated.at first it was every 2-3 days. its now happening 2-3 times a day. Sometimes I can hit the ok button highlight and can continue using my phone, but as of lately more often than not, I must pull the battery as the phone locks up.BB support was unable to help. Sprint my carrier has been unable to help and wants me to drive another 30 miles to a "tech store".

He purchased a Samsung Omnia II from Bell and had them unlock the phone for him so he can use it in the Dominican while he's down there for 2-3 months at a time. Problem is this, he hasn't been able to successfully get the phone to connect with his computer. Bell tech support have gone over several possible solutions to no avail. He has tried connecting to both a Windows based PC as well as a Mac and still no connection, although the Mac apparently will get further in connecting before failing.
I'm wondering if the phone being unlocked might be causing the issues, but Bell themselves unlocked it. The customer is coming back in this weekend and I would like to have some kinda answer or at least hope of an answer for him.
I have a samsung moment and i want to connect it to my computer. I've heard that i need to mount it by simply connecting to my pc with the usb cable. I've done this but it just show that it is charging. How do i get it to work? Oh and i have windows 7 btw
View 4 Replies View Relatedi updated my SGS 2 in software update for the first time a few days ago (never done that since i got it in end of may). It looked like it worked at first, it rebooted it self after a successful update. But when i was about to reboot it my self after a few hours it went hi-wire. I couldn't boot it and the screen was switching between the loading battery (but i wasn't charging it) and a empty battery with a warning sign between it every 3 sec. But after a while i got it working by repeatedly press the start button and putting the charge cable in it.so when i was now going to update it for the new 2.3.4 through Kies i tried for the first time to connect my phone with the usb-cable, but I'll never got the computer to recognize my phone. It won't show up with USB mass storage enable/disable, USB debugging unchecked/checked. I have tried reinstalling Kies and the Samsung USB driver, cleaning with CCleaner, cleaning the regedit for samsung files, but without luck.

I've tried mp4 and 3gp and I can put them on my SD card but they don't show up on my phone anywhere, in any of the folders. I've already formatted my card, etc. I am adding them by connecting the phone with USB. If I need to actually take the card out, put it in the adapter and plug it into my computer, that is fine, but I am unsure of how to get my card out of my phone, haha, I don't see anyway to get it out.
