I have a samsung moment and i want to connect it to my computer. I've heard that i need to mount it by simply connecting to my pc with the usb cable. I've done this but it just show that it is charging. How do i get it to work? Oh and i have windows 7 btw

I've tried mp4 and 3gp and I can put them on my SD card but they don't show up on my phone anywhere, in any of the folders. I've already formatted my card, etc. I am adding them by connecting the phone with USB. If I need to actually take the card out, put it in the adapter and plug it into my computer, that is fine, but I am unsure of how to get my card out of my phone, haha, I don't see anyway to get it out.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have installed Kies 3 twice but still get the same problem. The back up from my Galaxy S5 appears to go well until I look into the folders created on my computer in Kies. It has backed up some things but most folders either have nothing in them or have file types that I can't open on my computer, which I guess are Samsung files. Surely if I have downloaded Kies specifically to back everything on the phone up, the software will have the ability to open these file types?

He purchased a Samsung Omnia II from Bell and had them unlock the phone for him so he can use it in the Dominican while he's down there for 2-3 months at a time. Problem is this, he hasn't been able to successfully get the phone to connect with his computer. Bell tech support have gone over several possible solutions to no avail. He has tried connecting to both a Windows based PC as well as a Mac and still no connection, although the Mac apparently will get further in connecting before failing.
I'm wondering if the phone being unlocked might be causing the issues, but Bell themselves unlocked it. The customer is coming back in this weekend and I would like to have some kinda answer or at least hope of an answer for him.
i updated my SGS 2 in software update for the first time a few days ago (never done that since i got it in end of may). It looked like it worked at first, it rebooted it self after a successful update. But when i was about to reboot it my self after a few hours it went hi-wire. I couldn't boot it and the screen was switching between the loading battery (but i wasn't charging it) and a empty battery with a warning sign between it every 3 sec. But after a while i got it working by repeatedly press the start button and putting the charge cable in it.so when i was now going to update it for the new 2.3.4 through Kies i tried for the first time to connect my phone with the usb-cable, but I'll never got the computer to recognize my phone. It won't show up with USB mass storage enable/disable, USB debugging unchecked/checked. I have tried reinstalling Kies and the Samsung USB driver, cleaning with CCleaner, cleaning the regedit for samsung files, but without luck.
View 2 Replies View Relatedi've galaxy s2 baught it a week ago, it's my first time connecting it to my pc via micro usb. i see the storage drive in the computer opens up i can explore copy & paste, the handset charges normaly, but the touch screen stops responding. everything just freezes, just for once internet explorer opened after a long time which seems like a late response of my pressing on touchscreen however the menu and back button work well but can't press or click on anything.. i know this isn't normal.

To begin with, the "Hangup" button doesn't work, plus whenever I press the "Connect" button to "Use this computer as a headset or speakerphone for calls on your phone (Galaxy S)," the phone starts dialing the number written in the "Make a call to this number:" field (when there's a number written there--otherwise it would start dialing the latest dialed number) without my having to press the "Connect" button. Gmail doesnt work, I've been other forums and tried entering 'nul' as the password, this doesn't work. When I do select the option to mount SD Card I'm given a message saying it's "Preparing" the card, and then does nothing, nothing has changed. It displays this message and remains in the storage area settings screen.
How do I resolve this so that I can access and use my card?
I turned my phone on, entered my pass code, then it froze and turned off. Now it won't turn on or mount on iTunes. Orange has told me it only has a six month warranty. Surely this can't be right?

How can you mount Iphone as a drive on the MBP without install any apps. When you connect the Iphone to MBP, like USB stick, it shows up as a moutned drive, which you can copy the photos in & out.
A friend of mine showed me how to do it once, but I cannot remember how to do it anymore, and he is not contactable at the moment. I just remember, he changed some settings, and the Iphone just showed up as a mounted drive.

The phone is NOT recognizing that anything is plugged into it now... Before doing this the computer did recognize the phone.Also, the power button is broken.

If I'm on a wi-fi network and I have an external hard drive hooked up to my Airport Extreme, can I mount that drive through the iPhone?I've looked at airsharing, dropbox, mobileme, sugarsync, and none fit my needs. I just wanted to be able to view files stored on an external hard drive through my iPhone, not store them on the iPhone, not edit them, just drill through a file system.It wouldn't surprise me if there is no option available. But it would be a shame since it seems pretty simple and could have a lot of benefits. I understand the reasoning behind why Apple prevents access to the iPhone file system, buy why prevent access to other hard drives on the network?
