Pretty straightforward question I think. If I'm on a wi-fi network and I have an external hard drive hooked up to my Airport Extreme, can I mount that drive through the iPhone?I've looked at airsharing, dropbox, mobileme, sugarsync, and none fit my needs. I just wanted to be able to view files stored on an external hard drive through my iPhone, not store them on the iPhone, not edit them, just drill through a file system. It wouldn't surprise me if there is no option available. But it would be a shame since it seems pretty simple and could have a lot of benefits. I understand the reasoning behind why Apple prevents access to the iPhone file system, buy why prevent access to other hard drives on the network?
How can you mount Iphone as a drive on the MBP without install any apps. When you connect the Iphone to MBP, like USB stick, it shows up as a moutned drive, which you can copy the photos in & out.
A friend of mine showed me how to do it once, but I cannot remember how to do it anymore, and he is not contactable at the moment. I just remember, he changed some settings, and the Iphone just showed up as a mounted drive.
im using a xperia neo v . and i've been trying to use the usb on the go function to mount a pen drive to my phone. it does not detect the pen drive. it detects USB mouse and USB keyboard. but USB mass storage devices are not recognized.
Ive configured it to a network connected HDD both locally (preferred option to access music collection for DNLA sharing) and also via HTTP but with no joy.
I'm coming from the Android/Apple ecosystem. I used an Android phone as my daily driver and an iPad for all my media stuff. My Lumia is a perfect blend of both due to the screen size. My only issue is that I can't find apps to stream content from my PC to this phone.
Can someone help? Getting error message saying "You cannot save your backup file to \network folder name . Please select a different folder with write permissions." I can write to the folder selected, but the software can't. It did on all my other versions of BB Desktop. Can only save to local C drive.
I turned my phone on, entered my pass code, then it froze and turned off. Now it won't turn on or mount on iTunes. Orange has told me it only has a six month warranty. Surely this can't be right?
I have been searching all over the net for the last 2 weeks since I got my Iphone looking for a specific type of mount for my 3GS and can't find it. Has anyone found one like a Tuneflex but no FM transmit, and I don't need that stupid Smart click thing. I don't want to speed 130$ on it. I have an AUX jack in my car. Those seem to be the only ones I can find. Anyone found one? I can't believe the price of them, I have an old Tuneflex from my Ipod and it was nowhere near as much as they are now.
I recently purchased a Rocketfish universal windshield/bicycle mount for my iPhone 4. My iPhone 4 is a little wide for the holder. Anybody know of any good ones and the best place to get one?
The standard plug in and use the SD Card is terribly slow, dont know why modern phones chose this path. On my BlackBerry I have the option to mount the USB as a USB device and like a USB stick drag and drop. How do I do that? when I plug the phone in, my USB option in the storage setting goes grey.
My X10 has locked me out as too many patterns tried and wants my gmail address and password to login. Gmail doesnt work, I've been other forums and tried entering 'nul' as the password, this doesn't work. Then I tried to do a repair using SE PC companion but I can't mount my PC as my phone won't let me pull down the top menu to be able to do this.
Just upgraded from 444 to Lollipop and now my phone can't see my external 128MB SD Card. I have photographs and videos on this card, so I can't follow any steps to erase it, etc.
When I do select the option to mount SD Card I'm given a message saying it's "Preparing" the card, and then does nothing, nothing has changed. It displays this message and remains in the storage area settings screen.
How do I resolve this so that I can access and use my card?
whenever I connect my phone to USB on the PC, the option to mount does not appear. The phone charges, which means that the USB / wire is working fine, but the alert that asks if I want to mount to PC doesn't pop up.
where i can get a tripod mount that will hold this phone?I have seen some on Gaybay that state it will fit this phone, but after mssging the sellers, have been told that they actually will not.I asked one seller what the maximum vertical clamp size was, but they just asked me what phone i had. I replied and was told it would fit my phone. << Link - eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices?
I've downloaded everything, just get them to sync. can only change between MTP and PTP so it won't let me mount my s6 with double twist. And i have air sync but no wifi network out at work.
I have a samsung moment and i want to connect it to my computer. I've heard that i need to mount it by simply connecting to my pc with the usb cable. I've done this but it just show that it is charging. How do i get it to work? Oh and i have windows 7 btw
I'm trying to connect my Xperia X10 to my PC through the application PC Companion. Although the mobile is charging, the application is not recognizing my mobile.
I recently updated my Xperia Neo to ICS 4.0.4.Now, every time i plug in a USB-cable to charge the phone, it also connects the SD-Card with my PC.In 2.3.4 there has been a setting to disable this behavior. Is it possible to do this in ICS? I can't find such a setting.
i have an N8 and wish to be able to mount it in my car. I have a panel where my previous car holders used to be fixed to, which were all genuine Nokia ones (meaning the screws are all in the right place).I have looked for a car holder for the N8, and seen some really ideal ones, such as the CR-122. I say this is ideal because i want the compacity to be able to swivel it from portrait to landscape mode. The only snag is that the CR-122 is designed to be mounted to the car windscreen with the suction cup.is there a car holder like the CR-122, without the suction cup - but a screw-fixed adapter to fit to my panel?I really don't like using the windscreen mounted ones as i just can't get used to the position (whereever it is), not to mention blocking my view of the road.
I have a Wi-Fi Xoom with 32G of internal storage and Android 3.2. When I insert a 16G SanDisk Class 4 micro SD card and power up,I am unable to mount the card. I go to Settings>Storage, and get an error message, with the option to Force Close or Send Report. Most of the time, the app closes itself with no action on my part. If I insert the SD card while the Xoom is powered on, I get a different problem. I am able to get to the storage setting, and there is an option to mount the card. However, pressing on that option doesn't cause anything to happen. The card is formatted as FAT32. I have copied some files to it on my PC, and the files are there when I connect the card back to the PC. I've checked the board here, and not seen this problem addressed.
My SD card just randomly unmounted itself, and now the option to mount an SD card is greyed out. I removed the SD card and checked it with my PC and everything is fine on that end. I'm at a loss at what to try next. I've already tried restarting in safe mode, and restarting the phone, but still no option to mount an SD card.
Ever since I updated to 4.4.2 and re-rooted I haven't not been able to mount my phone via USB to my computer. I'd just like to transfer music files to my phone. I tried using ES File Explorer with dropbox and it's been hit or miss. Is there any other way I can transfer music to my phone? Or maybe any reason why the USB mounting wouldn't be working?
Have a strange issue when mounting external USB devices on my Samsung S5. I have:
A. 64 GB PNY thumb drive (Fat32) B. 500 GB USB HDD (exFat) C. 64 GB Sony SDXC card (exFat)
and mounting them via cheap non powered 4 port USB hub.
If I mount any of devices separately, no issues. If I mount A and B or A and C together, no issues. Now, if I mount B and C (no matter in which order) as soon as I connect second device I get message that USB device is unmounted successfully and another message straight away that USB device is damaged.
Basically I can't mount two drives if both of them are exFat. If one is Fat32 and another exFat then works fine. Is this a limitation of Android/Samsung?
What I'm trying to achieve is to backup photos from SD card to HDD when I go on holidays in two weeks. Currently I can do this by copying C to A, unmounting C, mounting B and copying from A to B, which is time consuming, I much rather copy C to B directly.
