i have an N8 and wish to be able to mount it in my car. I have a panel where my previous car holders used to be fixed to, which were all genuine Nokia ones (meaning the screws are all in the right place).I have looked for a car holder for the N8, and seen some really ideal ones, such as the CR-122. I say this is ideal because i want the compacity to be able to swivel it from portrait to landscape mode. The only snag is that the CR-122 is designed to be mounted to the car windscreen with the suction cup.is there a car holder like the CR-122, without the suction cup - but a screw-fixed adapter to fit to my panel?I really don't like using the windscreen mounted ones as i just can't get used to the position (whereever it is), not to mention blocking my view of the road.
I am using visor mount paired with my curve 8900 and it is working well the only thing I am not able to get, is to transfer contact from my smartphone to the visor mount, so when I get a phone cal it is never recognized, and the voice tells me only the phone number blackberry 8900 v4.6.1.250 (platform 4.2.0.113)
1) the FW appears to be avaliable not for every item. Actually, apparently identical sets (E72-1), bought by the same channel (nokia online, Italian warranty), but some people, like me, got the FW upgrade by OVI Suite, others, got the "already updated FW" albeit formally having the same FW.
2) GPS issue: this morning I got to fix without any assistance (neither cell network, nor data connection ) simply lying the set over the metallic rim of my office window: unthinkable a not assisted fix before the fix. Actually, though, it could simply be that fith the SW upgrade has cleaned the previous (misleading) data....
GPS is working fine: Applications/Location/GPSdata/position. It finds lat/long within a couple of seconds outdoors. Strong satellites. Great. Also: Applications/Camera/settings/show GPS Info/ON. Seems like it should do the trick for geotagging. Yet with these settings, despite my N97 having strong satelites and GPS fix, I still get no geotagging data on my outdoor pictures. The field remains always blank, even whilst the GPS has a fix.
I have found that once in a while the phone refuses to charge via nokia wall charger or connect via usb to a computer. This is with both official Nokia wall charger and trying a Nokia usb data cable.
I have an X6 16GB, which I turn off at night when I go to bed, about once a week I switch it on in the morning and the date hasn't changed from the previous day. The same problem occurs whether I have automatic time update on or off. Also once or twice a week it will download emails with the date 01/01/2000 instead of todays date. I can log into my emails via Outlook Express on my p.c and the date will be correct there.I have software version v20 installed, the same problems still occurred on the previous firmware as well.Any help greatfully received
I just noticed something real strange. I have an ATT Bold that I loaded the v5 os for sweaden not long ago. I had the browser problem were I only had hotspot and Medianet options for the browser. Today it appears to have fixed itself without any interaction from me. I started the browser about 30 min ago and instead of seeing the APN home page i got something from ATT telling me how to use the goto option to browse the web.
Maybe i don't understand what the Browser issue is but this really shocked me. Now i have the option to set my browser to "Internet Browser" and it uses WiFi if it is avaliable. This is clearly a bonus for battery life as I leave WiFi on.
I have fixed my proximity sensor and can now make calls without hanging up/muting etc. I was having severe problems with the proximity sensor on my IPhone 4. During calls my ear was hitting mute, end call, face time etc. Today I had the hardware replaced at a retail store and restored a backup. The problem remained. Then I read a post on this site suggesting resetting the network settings and thought, why not, Apple had no fix.
Before I started I tested and recorded that the proximity sensor required my hand to be about 5mm above the sensor before it kicked it and blanked the screen. Then I used Settings/General/Reset/ Reset network settings. After this the proximity sensor worked at about 3cm under exactly the same conditions. I have continued using the phone including setting my WiFi password which had been cleared.
This wont clear everyone's problems but: As it takes 30 seconds and doesn’t wipe your phone, give it a try before sitting on the phone to Apple, driving to the Apple store etc. Besides they don’t have a fix yet. My testing pretty much proved that for me, changing hardware didn't help but a configuration change did. Therefore even though other users may have other setting, which in combination with a complex bug mean this fix doesn't work for them, it is a software bug in some cases, probably most. So Apple should work this out in the end and post an update to the OS.
If this fix doesn’t work for you and you want to do something, test your sensor by starting a call, leaving the speakerphone off and putting three fingers over the top of the phone covering the entire phone above the screen. If the screen blanks when your hand is close but comes on when less than a couple of centimetres away, then see if a software fix helps. Take a backup and then wipe the phone and then retest.
When it first launched I bought one. It has this problem of me having to touch a little to the top to select/type things. Has the current (recent purchase) batch ok?
I am trying to connect my Xperia X8 to a router with a fixed IP address but the phone doesn't seem to have any means of entering the address. Does anyone have any idea how to confirgure the phone to a fixed IP address please?
after updating software and freezei took it to get fixed and they said there is nothing to do but restore it !!! My last backup was in March so im really upset!!
Should i upgrade from 5.0.1 to latest update 5.1 does this help battery draining issue?Or shud i bury apple and buy samsung's watermelon i.e., Galaxy S 2??Fed up of charging 3 times a day.
Two days ago my phone kept disconnecting from my home wifi, leaving me to use 4G without noticing most of the time. It caught my attention the next day and I tried everything the Apple troubleshoot page says for this issue and was left unable to connect to my wifi, period. I had no choice but to restore my phone.Â
Restoring it from backup didn't fix the issue, so I restored again as a new phone. Not only can I not get to my wifi tab, the Settings app in particular keeps freezing as well as others. I am unable to click anything, not even to go to the home screen or shut it off from the top until one minute passes and it turns off on its own. Then sometimes I can't turn it back on, and I have to reboot it because the whole screen is black.Â
Is there any reason my phone is suddenly freezing so much after a complete restore? Is there anything I can do about my wifi? I thought anything that was causing the defects would be wiped but now I have more problems than I started with. Â
I have a usb car charger with a cable that has a usb plug on one end, and on the other end there is a nokia 2.0mm charger plug. like this one: [URL] But the problem is that it's not fully charge my Nokia 5800, only about 85%-90%. Could this charger can fully charge a nokia 5800? on the charger itself it's written "DC 5V +- 5% Max= 1000mA"
I am on my 3rd curve. The problem is that they warranty them out for 1 year from the first date of purchase and now mine is out of warranty Alltel says (this one is 2 months old). My problem is that my ringer volume is almost non existent. I've turned the volume up in the profiles and everything and still nothing. media is too quiet also. I've found that the only way is to use headphones and plug it in the jack. Is my speaker shot?
Hopefully someone can provide a step-by-step way to fix my problem without having to restore.I have a 32GB 3GS with firmware 3.1.2 (SHSH backed up on Cydia), jailbroken and unlocked using Blackra1n/Blacksn0w. I bought this phone back in July/2009 so this phone doesn't have the new bootrom.
The phone has been working fine for months. Just today, I was using the Facebook app and it looked like a call came in and was cut off. The call sent me back to the Springboard and I couldn't detect my cell network (Rogers). I brought up SBsettings and restarted the iPhone. When it restarted, it was stuck on the Apple logo. It sometimes take minutes after a crash for the springboard to come up so I waited and waited. After about 10 minutes I sense something is not right. I reset the iphone (power+home) and tried it again. No change. the iPhone is stuck at the Apple logo.
I hooked it up to my computer at work to see if the PC can recognize the phone being hooked up (and maybe I can SSH into it to fix it), but the iPhone doesn't get recognized.
So is there a way I could fix this problem without having to restore (I'm at work, so I can't do a restore until I get home tonight anyway). Also, if I'm forced to do a restore, what happens to my pictures and videos that's on my phone?
Edit: After having the iPhone stuck at the Apple logo and hooked up to the PC for the last 10 or so minutes, I see a wait icon appear frozen just below the Apple logo (they are almost on top of each other). But the wait icon is frozen and not moving. I'm not sure what this means but the iPhone seems to be stuck still.
I got back from my local Apple store with a black bumper and not a single problem now with the reception like I was having. I'm going to call and log a trouble call with them because while I'm glad that I can help the issue now, I don't feel it's right that I had to buy this.
I'm hoping they'll do something by either sending one out at no charge or reimbursing me with my receipt, etc. Either way, I can now make a call again in my house with no issues.
I got my iphone last year and the cable was fine but it started to crumble up wher you plug it into your phone. If you pull the crumble down it has a small hole and if you touch or move it the charger will not work so i have to unplug it and replug it in. Just wondering if i can get to apple to fix it i'm still under warrenty.
I have often been in locations where it is too bright and the led to illuminate the menu, home...buttons stay off, but it is dark enough to make them dificult to find. Is there a way to have the buttons go to a half brightness position as long as there is any tactile responces being detected on the phone?
The elevation data/graph does not show on the portal. It seems that the Y axis is showing the elevation in KM. This is obviously not an appropriate scale...
The standard plug in and use the SD Card is terribly slow, dont know why modern phones chose this path. On my BlackBerry I have the option to mount the USB as a USB device and like a USB stick drag and drop. How do I do that? when I plug the phone in, my USB option in the storage setting goes grey.
