My screen is broken on my Samsung5, completely black. The phone works but I cannot see anything. I thought my contacts where synced to my gmail account but they are not there!! Can I import my contacts from my phone via computer if I cannot see the screen?
View 2 RepliesThe bluetooth handsfree connects and pairs with my samsung s6 however it won't import the contacts, it keeps saying no contacts found but they are all on the device. The car dealer says it's an issue with the samsung security so I went to where I got the phone from and they can't see an issue and say it's an issue with the handsfree!

I am trying to back up the S5 to my PC but the software that I have been finding all needs some sort of authorization on the phone - which I am unable to do.
Is there anyway that I can save all of my data?
Does anyone know of how I would possibly be able to retrieve photos from my Samsung Galaxy S2 that has a non-fuctioning screen? The rest of the phone works - it charges, turns on (the 4 buttons light up as well as the light on the top) and the speakers for the ringtones and alerts works as well. View 6 Replies View RelatedMy missus has just bought the SGS2 - she previously had a Blackberry Bold 9780.The issue we have is getting her contacts from the BB to the SGS2.You cannot copy the contacts to the sim in the BB so I have had to do a backup of them using the BB desktop manager. That saves them as an IPD file.So how can I now get those loaded onto the SGS2?Will KIES recognise such file?

I have my contacts backed up on my PC in PC Studio, although I think I am running an old version (I don't like to update as when I did so before, it deleted all my stored information!)I believe Kies is used instead of PC Studio now, although I have not downloaded it yet. View 2 Replies View RelatedMy screen on my SGS2 is shattered. Before I have it fixed, I'd like to backup everything via Kies (I haven't backed up in a while before my phone fell). My phone goes on when switched on, the soft buttons light up like usual - I'm taking this as signs of normal functioning. But I simply cannot seem to get my phone to talk to Kies via USB connection through my PC. Also, am I right in assuming that the 'touch' on the screen wont work if its cracked?
Is there any way I can backup my phone before I send it in to be repaired?
Cracked my screen on my Nexus 5 today (squeezed it in a door). The touchscreen won't work and you can't see anything except green and red stripes on the screen. Is there any possibility to reach the files from my computer even if i can't unlock the phone with my graphical password? It runs Android 5.1 and I haven't rooted it or anything. Very desperate to reach the data on my phone, have photos, videos and a diary from my year in Australia... Should think about back-up next time!
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there any way of getting the actual phone numbers to show when in the "Contacts" screen instead of just the contacts name. If I want to look for a phone number, it means that I have got to click on each contact name to bring up the next screen with the phone number etc on it and then click back to the contacts screen and keep doing it all through the list of contacts.
With my old HTC Desire it used to show both right at the start.
Dropped phone 3 stories out of a window and LCD and screen broken and wont turn on so cannot retrieve data, pictures or videos it wont sync to computer and I don't know the username or password of the Gmail that is connected to the phone.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy beloved Galaxy S2 is currently with T-mobile for assessment as a result of a broken screen (under the glass) and the view of the shop was that as it was a broken screen it was automatically my fault.I am at a loss as to how they can know this without even seeing the phone. Hence why I was unprepared to pre-authorise a repair without knowing the cost first.I have no issue with paying if it is my fault (like I did when I put a phone through the washing machine or when I dropped one on a sharp stone and shattered the screen or when I left one on the car roof and drove off only to see it bounce in the rear view mirror!) but this time it was very different as the screen went black as if power had gone and it needed to be switched back on - i initially thought it was a power fault. The next day I discovered a crack in the screen.

I've deactivated the old phone and activated my new phone. I've been reading other responses for a similar problem but it seems like most of them have not activated the new phone yet and were able to wipe the phone using the Android Device Manager. Since I've already activated my new phone, if I use ADM it finds my new phone and not my old phone.
Is there a way to wipe the data off of the old phone with a broken screen after I've already activated my new phone?

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I turn my Samsung Galaxy S5 Verizon phone on there is blackness all over the lock screen, where the numbers are is completely blacked out. There is no way for me to enter my password. I want to connect it to my windows PC via USB cable to backup contacts/text messages/emails/documents I've created/photographs. My verizon cloud is full so there are some things on the phone that I need to backup. It seems like every software I have tried needs you to enter the phone password first and enable USB debugging mode. I cannot do this because the screen is so blacked out I cannot see any of the numbers, the OK button, or the delete button.
View 1 Replies View Relatedi've galaxy s2 baught it a week ago, it's my first time connecting it to my pc via micro usb. i see the storage drive in the computer opens up i can explore copy & paste, the handset charges normaly, but the touch screen stops responding. everything just freezes, just for once internet explorer opened after a long time which seems like a late response of my pressing on touchscreen however the menu and back button work well but can't press or click on anything.. i know this isn't normal.

View 3 Replies View RelatedLove the phone - just got a really irritating problem. I've synced my phone with my gmail account - the My Contacts list has my key contact email addresses. Then I have multiple groups within gmail account relating to work emails etc, nearly 500 odd.
On the phone, when I click my 'Contacts' button, initially it showed all my phone number contacts, as well all google email contacts mixed with them. I corrected this by going to 'display options' to select 'display only contacts with phone numbers', so that I didn't have to trawl through random email addresses mixed with my proper phone contacts. Great, sorted.
But, when I go to compose a text message - if it is to one or two specific contacts it is fine...I just type their name and it comes up. If I want to scroll through all my phone contacts to send the same message to multiple contacts, big problem - I press that envelope button in the top right corner next to 'enter recipient', and it takes me to the Contacts list, but here it still shows ALL 600 odd contacts with phone contacts still mixed with google email contacts, which is impossible to scroll through and select multiple people to send a text message to....Does anyone know how to sort this out?!??!

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have installed Kies 3 twice but still get the same problem. The back up from my Galaxy S5 appears to go well until I look into the folders created on my computer in Kies. It has backed up some things but most folders either have nothing in them or have file types that I can't open on my computer, which I guess are Samsung files. Surely if I have downloaded Kies specifically to back everything on the phone up, the software will have the ability to open these file types?

They need repair estimate. Called Samsung and they only have one 3rd party repair shop in Montreal. So I have to ship it to them,and then wait for 2 weeks to get an estimate. Telus said, it takes 2-6 weeks for the process.I am going out of the country in 3 weeks or less and wanted to get a better timing.

Somehow all my contacts have been deleted and I think I forgot to make a backup of the contacts before i went into custom romming... (silly me). But my other sim card has most of my contacts so i inserted my other sim card and now when i go to contacts, and press the options menu, the 'import' option is not highlighted...
How do I import the contacts from my other sim?!
I seem to have a problem with duplicate contacts appearing ONLY on my text message screen when I go into the recipient menu. The duplicate contacts DO NOT appear in my contacts screen.
I have:-
Disabled contacts from phone.
Disabled contacts from Google
Enabled contacts from slim card only.
When I go to text message > add a recipient. I get a list of duplicated contacts?
Every Android phone I have owned asked if I wanted to sync my Facebook contacts. I always do. S6 didn't ask..
