when i add contact(s) to contacts bar and call them from there my x6 only shows contacts number. it's the same when they call me. only number, no name. is this normal or something is wrong. p.s. also, few times when i had called someone there was a picture assigned to contact all over the screen (full screen). this happens no more.?
View 4 RepliesI am using E71, which firmware version is 410.21.010. I have a contact which has 2 number (mobile and Telephone) and i have set mobile as default. When i make call from the contacts applicaition it is calling to mobile without showing the number list. But if i call from the homescreen by typing the name, it is showing the number list. I also created new contacts with more than a number and tried, it's not working... And when it shows the number list in the homescreen, pressing the call end button doesn't cancel showing the number list. I have to press the cancel button to cancel the list showing...

Also the names are not in order in my phone book.I am using this phone in Canada, and I got it from Ireland so the time on my incoming messages is 5 hours behind.So many issues!!

View 3 Replies View RelatedI broke the screen of my 6280 so used a different phone for a while and now that I've repaired it and put the sim card back in the phone displays the number rather than the name in the text inbox. When I try to add the number to the contact it says it's in use for the contact bla bla. The numbers get displayed in the +44 format and are saved in the domestion 07xx format but I can't overwrite it because it then recognises the number.

View 2 Replies View RelatedOur office recently bought a handful of the Nokia Lumia 880 phones for our "out of office" staff. These phones have all been updated to the latest versions of the software/firmware using Zune on a desktop.
There still appears to be a problem with incoming calls showing the incorrect contact. It appears to be ignoring the first 4 digits of the phone number and only matches the last part. We live in Australia and have to mobile syntax of 04 XXXX XXXX. Numbers saved in the phone are saved without spaces like: 0401234567
Here's an example of how to repeat the bug.
Say this is a friends number: 0450100200 and you have that saved in your phone as Friend 1
If you have a second friend with a similar number on a different network like: 0417100200 and Friend 2 calls you, the contact name for Friend 1 will appear on the call screen.
We tested this theory by adding my number into the phone as a brand new contact, but we changed the first few digits of the number. My phone number was not originally in the phone, but when I called, my name appeared on the screen, even though the number saved was different to my actual number.
I don't know whether anyone else has this issue, but I would like to get it resolved. It seems sloppy design for the numbers to be loosly matched like this.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI sync contacts with a corporate Exchange / Outlook account. I can manage contacts on the phone or PC. Any contact who has say a business, home or mobile number and a fax number specified, if I go to the dialer, start typing their name, it does show the contact and a number (no indication of type such as fax or cell) so I tap that choice. Sadly, no, I can't just tell from looking at the number if it is fax or not. The phone dials the fax # which of course is incredibly annoying to my ear and that this dumb phone doesn't know not to try a fax number as the first choice for any contact who has a fax number.
I know I can set the default number per contact but I have hundreds of contacts and to go through each one to see if they have a fax and change it would really suck. Is there seriously no way to tell the phone not to use fax as first choice by default?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've just bought a Nokia 5800 handset recently. It seems to me that even though I actually saved a contact's number in my phone, when he messages me the phone inbox only shows his number and not his name, even though I already saved his number under my phonebook.
Is there anyway to solve this such that it'll display his name instead? Its kind of pointless if I have to keep checking back to my phonebook to see who has messaged me, since I don't remember my friend's numbers and stuff.
On a note I saved all of my friend's number without the region number. That is as im living in Singapore, a contact's number would be saved as follows: 91234567 without the region code of +65. Thing is in my inbox all the phone number displayed shows the region code of +65 along with the number, but seriously even my super old phone can recognise that both 91234567 and +6591234567 are of the same person and displays the name correctly in the inbox.

I have bought a new Unlocked 9650 smartphone from Amazon.com. I have AT&T gophone connection. Now, i am not able to make & receive any calls, everytime i try to call a number it shows an error message:- Congestion. Also, on top of my caller screen it shows a different number than mine.When i go to Advance system settings>SIM Card, it does shows my number BUT in Service Status it shows a different number. contacted one AT&T outlet and they say that it is a used phone not the new one because the number it shows belongs to the old user and the network my phone is showing is Edge which is not supportive in my Gophone scheme. I called up the number which is showing in my phone but the person says that he never owned or sold any phone.

I ported my number so the new carrier gave me a temp number. Now that I have my number working, iPhone is displaying the temp number in settings>phone, so even if iMessages and Facetime activates,I don't know why the message "your carrier may charge for the imessage activation..bla bla", so...iMessage and Facetime shows my correct number, but they deactivate themselves for some reason and activates again.Â
I don't know if it is because the wrong number is displaying in the settings, or I lose signal or what..but this is new so I think it's because of the wrong number in settings.Â
Some things to consider (things I've tried so far):
- Cant change number manually
- Tried the turn off iMessage and Facetime and then on and restartÂ
My carrier is going to charge for every activation message I send I guess... or is there another way to change the sim number in the iphone or mac? I dont have another phone to change the number in special numbers.Â
