I ported my number so the new carrier gave me a temp number. Now that I have my number working, iPhone is displaying the temp number in settings>phone, so even if iMessages and Facetime activates,I don't know why the message "your carrier may charge for the imessage activation..bla bla", so...iMessage and Facetime shows my correct number, but they deactivate themselves for some reason and activates again.Â
I don't know if it is because the wrong number is displaying in the settings, or I lose signal or what..but this is new so I think it's because of the wrong number in settings.Â
Some things to consider (things I've tried so far):
- Cant change number manually
- Tried the turn off iMessage and Facetime and then on and restartÂ
My carrier is going to charge for every activation message I send I guess... or is there another way to change the sim number in the iphone or mac? I dont have another phone to change the number in special numbers.Â
my iphone 4s shows a notification under "settings - general - software update" it has an image of a number 1 beside it. i understand that it needs a software update and i currently running iOs 5.1, but when i start to click the "software update" the phone then checks for update but it tells that my software is up to date. and still leaves the small image of a number 1 in a red circle at the upper right portion of "settings" what should i do to update the version of my iOs into 5.1.1 ? and to get rid of the "red number 1 image" which indicates notification. i am downloading the latest version of iOs(5.1.1) in itunes but is it really 802.8MB? its kind of huge..
I have transferred the number from my old phone to my Blackberry Curve but the phone stills shows the original number. Is it possible to change it?, and if so how is it done?
Why does my phone number displayed in settings the wrong number? The Number that appears as My Number in settings> Phone, is displayed as the wrong number to what the sim card is, not a major problem but?
I brought my old number into a new provider and it works fine, but in Settings/Phone/My Number the old number is shown there and does not seem editable.
when i add contact(s) to contacts bar and call them from there my x6 only shows contacts number. it's the same when they call me. only number, no name. is this normal or something is wrong. p.s. also, few times when i had called someone there was a picture assigned to contact all over the screen (full screen). this happens no more.?
I have bought a new Unlocked 9650 smartphone from Amazon.com. I have AT&T gophone connection. Now, i am not able to make & receive any calls, everytime i try to call a number it shows an error message:- Congestion. Also, on top of my caller screen it shows a different number than mine. When i go to Advance system settings>SIM Card, it does shows my number BUT in Service Status it shows a different number. contacted one AT&T outlet and they say that it is a used phone not the new one because the number it shows belongs to the old user and the network my phone is showing is Edge which is not supportive in my Gophone scheme. I called up the number which is showing in my phone but the person says that he never owned or sold any phone.
I am using nokia c6 i am facing a strange problem my phone shows name and number also of my contacts which are saved i tried to change it from the settings but i am unable to i only want to see name of the person who is calling it not number due to some privacy reasons?
During phone calls it shows the persons number and then my number on the other side Its soo annoying!!! How do I turn it off?? I can't find the option nowhere and I've seen it I jus Don't remember!
I know there have been similar issue like mine with other phones, i have looked through alot of threads and found no solution. ive also noticed that it seem to be an issue with only Verizon phones
That said here is the issue: I bought a BB 9650 unlocked from Verizon, and i am using it in Canada with Fido, and when i get phone calls from people, it shows up as unknown number, but i realize i have these people numbers stored on my contact list super weird.
Can I change the outgoing number that shows up on others caller id from my Torch 9810? I would like it to display my toll-free number instead of my actual cell phone number.
I loaded all my accounts and all my contacts are there but when someone calls the caller id doesnt match to my contacts and just shows the number, if I go to save that call to a contact, the number is already there..
I wanted to hide my number on outgoing calls but the area to do it on my verizon lg g3 is grey. Is there another way to hide my number? Or what do I need to do to my phone to make that area NOT greyed out?
My address book shows my both my email contacts and my phone number contacts. I just want to view my phone ook contacts and not the emails. How can i change this?!
I've just bought a Nokia 5800 handset recently. It seems to me that even though I actually saved a contact's number in my phone, when he messages me the phone inbox only shows his number and not his name, even though I already saved his number under my phonebook.
Is there anyway to solve this such that it'll display his name instead? Its kind of pointless if I have to keep checking back to my phonebook to see who has messaged me, since I don't remember my friend's numbers and stuff.
On a note I saved all of my friend's number without the region number. That is as im living in Singapore, a contact's number would be saved as follows: 91234567 without the region code of +65. Thing is in my inbox all the phone number displayed shows the region code of +65 along with the number, but seriously even my super old phone can recognise that both 91234567 and +6591234567 are of the same person and displays the name correctly in the inbox.
first time I have had a Blackberry! My Blackberry Curve 8520 shows my mobile number as "unknown". I changed the mobile number that was originally given to me by Vodafone and when my phone arrived the sim was stuck on the outside of the package. How do I get my phone to show the number that is on my inserted sim card.
When I receive a multimedia group text, the texts only show the originators number and not the other Group numbers.
This phone is a SAMSUNG GALAXY 6, using Android 5.0.2
Other suggested truning on Group Conversation or Group Messaging in the settings , but that option does not appear.
The instructions I received are below , but like I said, it did not show up on the settings. Is there a difference in the Android versions that would cause the menu to be different or the setting to located somewhere else?
1.) Go to main screen 2.) Go to messages 3.) tap MORE AT TOP RIGHT OF SCREEN 4.) SELECT Settings 5.) SELECT MORE SETTINGS 6.) SELECT MULTIMEDIA MESSAGES 7.) TURN GROUP CONVERSATION ON
what the correct settings for these items on a Nextel Blackberry 8350i on the Boost service is?? i've seem so many online, I don't know which are the correct ones.
I am having trouble with some things that I havent been able to figure out by now and this is my last resort where to find answers. This issue is really bugging me. After literally spending two weeks with my service provider telephoning most time waiting in witing for a call center agent to get connected to and being each time transferred to another division to a last being transferred to the divission where I first started at speak meoving in a cricle and no one being able to help me and this whole theater every day the same for two weeks, I am turning now to the people here hoping I could find some answers
1) My provider in Switzerland is sunrise (BIS), so I went on to the website sunrise.blackberry.com and entered my existing accounts, 4 of them. Additionaly I registered a new blackberry email address to be able to use the true push service which is xx@sunrise.blackberry.com (xx being just a placeholder for my real name). The problem is though that I haven't been able to find out the mail settings I have to enter into my Mail Programm on my PC so I can access the emails on my computer. I dont know if it's a pop server, an IMAP server and not to speak of the mail settings of the server settings for incoming and outgoing email. Since it's actually a BlackBerry server I figured that the servers are BB managed (no one at Sunrise Switzerland even knew what BIS is or that you could receive PUSH mail with the Blackberry email).
2) I tried to register a new email address at https://bis.na.blackberry.com/html for a direct xx@blackberry.com email address thinking that maybe with this, it would easier to find infos about the settings. The problem here is that I have to enter my PIN (no problem) and ESN/MEID number. The Problem is that I haven't been able to find those numbers now mather how hard I tried; they are not even listed in options>status.
