The thing is when I am using Nokia Maps 3.0 I can't use Wi-Fi as a connected service. I mean there is no option inside for using WLAN on Nokia Maps. Did anyone have this problem before?
View 5 RepliesStarted happening about 2 weeks ago. My girlfriend and I went to 6 flags in Arlington, Tx I left my phone in the glove box of the car so it wouldn't get wet. When we got back to the car I had 3 missed calls but no service. Red X by the antenna logo and something like no network available. When I got home I put it on the charger and got a full charge, turned it on it said searching for network with the same red X. Found nothing so I pulled the battery and SIM. Waited a couple minutes, reloaded and had perfect service. A week later I started dropping calls and can only get service if the phone is hot it seems. Now the only way for me to pick up the t-mobile network is if I'm connected through wifi. Even then there is a huge lag in calls and sending and receiving data. Does anyone know of a way to fix this problem, if a way, or is it possible I fried it by leaving it in the heat?

At home, even I turned the WiFi on it will only show white mark and the WiFi logo is still gray. When I try to scan for network to other areas it will ask for hotspot login. My friend can easily connect to her WiFi at home using the BB 9000
I cant understand. Do I need to setup anything?
I'm new to blackberry. I don't have problems connecting to wifi, but the problem is once I'm connected, I cannot browse any website. Maybe my connection preference is to Mobile Networks Only, but how do I change that? I cannot search it from the options menu. I'm using blackberry torch 9800.
View 3 Replies View Relatedmy iphone 4 (verizon) is connected to my home wifi but it's not working! when i go on Internet is says that it cannot connect, same with any other app that requires internet. it has the wifi symbol and everything. what's weird is that when i turn off my wifi (then 3g symbol replaces the wifi symbol) i am able to connect perfectly! i've tried all i can think of to fix this. restoring, rebooting, turning off and on again, forgetting my network then connecting to it again but nothing works!

View 2 Replies View RelatedI own an iPhone 3GS, and have recently upgraded it to iOS 6.1.6. I was able to connect to Wi-Fi using a Netgear Cable Modem with WiFi capability. But the internet service provider upgraded this equipment, replacing it with an ARRIS Touchstone Data Gateway DG1670 cable modem with Wi-Fi capability. Unfortunately, I have discovered that I'm unable to access the Internet while connected to Wi-Fi, while using my iPhone 3GS, running iOS 6.1.6. I am completely able to connect my MacMini, a smart-TV, and an iPhone 5 to this ARRIS device with Wi-Fi. Â
I have contacted my internet service provider and they tell me that the problem is with my iPhone 3GS, not with their equipment. We very meticulously went through all the troubleshooting steps, but to no avail. I have also read all the Apple Knowledge Base articles here about configuring an iPhone 3GS properly, and I have also followed Apple Knowledge Base articles concerning optimal configuration of an internet modem with Wi-Fi capability. I like my iPhone 3GS, it works well, but now I cannot sync it to iCloud, and now I must have Wi-Fi turned off to make it usable. I also understand that iOS 6.1.6 will be the last upgrade for the iPhone 3GS. If this is true, then I'm sadly disappointed with Apple's inability to keep up with technology.
When i connect my bb bold 9780 to my home wifi it connects to the network but iam unable to browse the internet. iam sure iam typing in the correct SSID and password. when i try to access the internet it gives an error message "unable to find the requested server". this is the case when iam trying to connect to other wifi connections as well outside my home.but i do not have any problems in connecting to wifi hotspots and it works perfectly fine?

I am stationed in Afghanistan and purchased this unlocked version. I am using a Local carrier (Roshan). Everything works great once I sorted a couple of minor issues except I cannot get the wifi to come up. I can connect to wireless routers and says "connected". But the wifi is still grayed out and I am unable to use it (wifi) for anything or register the phone. I would like to be in a situation where the wifi will work independent of the sim card installed.
I have an Iphone 4S and have added my home internet email account to the phone. I am able to send and receive emails while connected to my ATT netowrk but I am unavle to send and recieve emails while connected to a WiFi. How can I get my Iphone to send and receive emails while connected to a WiFi?

I have downloaded and installed the latest Nokia OVI Suite. My phone (E72 - 1, ver 031.023) connects perfectly etc. My problem is that I want to install the latest ovi maps for my phone. Now, according to OVI Suite, my phone has "ALL" maps on it. But I cant see them (when accessing GPS)
Secondly, OVI Suite tells me: your computer is not connected to then internet, when I clearly am. Are there any settings I need to adjust so that the program "Sees" my connection? I cannot connect thorugh my device, as it always tells me: Unable to establish network connection. Please check that your settings are correct etc..." what settings? where do I adjust these?
The voice guidance on my wife's 5800 and my E71 does not work when the phone is connected to the cars bluetooth system, I think it is supposed to come through the cars speaker system, does anyone know what to do to get this working.

It seems like it happens often and the only fix is to turn WiFi on and off, or tun the phone on and off. Its very strange because one minute I am using the WiFi just fine, and the next minute it isn't able to fetch data. I am using a new N-150 router, and the laptop and WiFi don't have these issues.

I have problem to download maps into my phone (Nokia C6-00, last firmware v40.0.021). If I launch Ovi Suite (v3.1.1.90) and go to Maps section, screen "Connecting to the map service..." is displayed, but after while: "Couldn't connect to the service - There seems to be a problem with connecting to the online map service. If the problem doesn't go away, please try again later.".
I'm connected over WiFi and all is working normally. I tried connection over USB cable and bluetooth as well, restart computer and phone, reinstall Ovi Suite, format memory card, reinstall device software, reset to factory settings, full reset to initial state (*#7370#) but it wasn't worked.

If I launch maps in my phone and go to Update, there is option "Add new maps", after select appropriate map and click on Download is progress bar "Installing, please wait!" displayed, but process ends with error message "Map download failed!".
I just bought my Hazel yesterday night, trying the WiFi n widget (which only appear in some theme and have 5 widgets appear) and found that a lot of the applications are not there, so as advice in written in paper inside the box, I downloaded the update service software into PC and update to my phone this morning and while doing a light browsing, was amaze that I have whole lot of new applications, games and even theme, but at later of the day, I found out that the I cant surf the net through WiFi, I was able to connect to WiFi, but was unable to surf the Internet.

We have WiFi and the phone indicate that they are connected to the WiFi when we are in the house. However, my bill from Bell indicates several instances where the phones (all 4 at different times) are connected to the 3G network for 24+ hours at a time. Additionally, it shows the phone connected twice during that time period (as though there were 2 different sessions at exactly the same time, but with differing amount of data connected)
The explaination that Bell gives me is that there are 'minimized' applications still working on 3G even though the phone says it is on WiFi, and that each of these opens its own 'connection'My understanding of cell technology is that the phone can only access one method of Internet connectivity at a time, and that it can be explained as a 'pipe' or 'straw' carrying connectivity and all of the data. I have never heard of a phone that can access two different types at the same time, nor one that uses separate 'sessions' at the same time of either type of connectivity.
I would assume that I turn on my phone in the morning and I am in my house, it indicates WiFi, so I can browse the web, collect my email and update my Facebook on that 'session' that lasts 4 hours until I leave the house. Now my 3G kicks in and the email that I still have open now collects through the opened 3G session, as well as the page I left open downloading something.When I get to work and enter my WiFi area there, the session would then collect my email through WiFi again, and my download as well.

I got a data usage warning message the next day, so I made sure it was still connected to wifi - then I got another warning message advising me more charges were being applied to the data plan. I called ATT and explained and was told that the 4GLTE runs all kinds of stuff in the background that uses data and to turn the data off. I did - since then, no more data usage - however - it will not stay connected to wifi after a time out unless it is plugged in. It still shows that its connected to wifi but its not.

But when I go to home screen -> menu -> internet -> facebook, and try to open it. It shows me "Connecting through AirTel" even though my wi-fi is still connected, this facebook is trying to connect to internet with my service provider internet. I expect the following behavior: each 5 minutes (as defined in Settings) this Service should activate WiFi connection, connect to server, get new mail (if any), disconnect from server and (!) deactivate WiFi connection. However, I see that WiFi icon is shown on my main screen instantly - so the WiFi connection is always On and the phone is consuming the battery heavily.

i use windows 7 ultimatie 64 bit, installed the ovi suite and the nokia software updater.
then why i try to update the device software it says the phone is not connected, when i then reconnect the phone i can press continue but immediatly after that its says its not connected again. even though the ovi store has it still connected and i can browse the phone from the pc aswell.. I tried different usb ports, i tried it on an win xp machine ( with same results ).
Currently my n97 had software version 1.2 i believe, when i use the phone itself to update it says no updates available.. i dont know whats wrong, because other then the update everything works normal.
i have a bold 9900 and it seems nearly every bbm stops working. i can still use it through WIFI but it says not connected when not connected to WIFI. i can not get on facebook at all even with WIFI. usually when this happens it starts working again but its been down for over 24hrs now.
