Mar 12, 2012I have an AirPort Extreme running the latest software. I've tried everything and still am unable to join my own wifi network from my iPhone 4s, iPhone 3Gs, iPhone 3G, my girlfriend's iPhone 4. The only devices that will connect to the network are our MacBook Pros and iPads, (1 and 2). I have reset the airport to default settings, I've restored my iPhone, I've even disabled the password. I am still unable to join my open airport extreme wifi network.

May 28, 2012We have 2 iMacs, an iPad, iPhone, and other wifi devices such as a Nook. I have AirPort Express and the green light is on, it is connected to the Linksys router that is connected to my cable modem (RCN). I have attempted a few times to reset the wireless and the airport express so that our wifi devices will work, but after about a week or two, it just stops working. I get timeout errors, and my iPhone and iPad just says "Unable to join the network"; the iMac just keeps asking me to enter a WPA password, I'm entering the correct password, because it worked for a couple of weeks. At this point I have both iMacs hooked up via ethernet.I was wondering if I need a new router, should use the AirPort (purchased in 2006) and Linksys at the same time? The cable modem only has one (1) port for ethernet cable.

Jun 27, 2012We have two iPhones at home that, all of a sudden, cannot connect to the home wifi network. I rebooted the cable modem and was then able to see and connect to the network with both iPhones and an iPad, but, a few minutes later, was unable to join the network. I have an iMac and a Thinkpad laptop that both connect fine and stay connected. I've tried rebooting the iPhones and forgetting the network, but the problem keeps coming back. I called Comcast to suggest they "change the channel" on their wireless gateway, but they couldn't do it.

May 20, 2012I have an AirPort extreme and two AirPort expresses. I have never had any issues. Now, my iPhone 4 and 4s will not connect to wifi. However, my PC and iPad will connect without any issue. I have tried resetting the network, routers, and cable modem. I have also tried resetting the iPhone network settings as indicated in the discussions. I've looked at the airport Utility and and only strange item I notice is that the AirPort Express is broadcasting on the 5GHZ channel, which I understand the iPhones only work at 4GHZ. I'm out of options.

May 29, 2012Today we replaced my wife's iPhone 4S with a new one, (The old iPhone, although recently purchased, had battery issues and could not hold a charge). We returned home and the new iPhone cannot connect to our WiFi network. We would select the network, and the system would not even ask for a password, but immediately responded with "Unable to join network "[name of network]". The new iPhone was able to connect to the WiFi in the Apple Store.
Per the Troubleshooting FAQ on this, I reset the network settings. We now are taken to the Password screen (which was unavailable to us before the reset), yet the the system seemingly does not take it, since we also get the "Unable to join network "[name of network]" message. Our MacBooks and another iPhone can successfully join the network and access the Internet.

Apr 19, 2012My iPhone is on the Bell network, along with 3 other iPhones in my household. We have WiFi and the phone indicate that they are connected to the WiFi when we are in the house. However, my bill from Bell indicates several instances where the phones (all 4 at different times) are connected to the 3G network for 24+ hours at a time. Additionally, it shows the phone connected twice during that time period (as though there were 2 different sessions at exactly the same time, but with differing amount of data connected)
The explaination that Bell gives me is that there are 'minimized' applications still working on 3G even though the phone says it is on WiFi, and that each of these opens its own 'connection'My understanding of cell technology is that the phone can only access one method of Internet connectivity at a time, and that it can be explained as a 'pipe' or 'straw' carrying connectivity and all of the data. I have never heard of a phone that can access two different types at the same time, nor one that uses separate 'sessions' at the same time of either type of connectivity.
I would assume that I turn on my phone in the morning and I am in my house, it indicates WiFi, so I can browse the web, collect my email and update my Facebook on that 'session' that lasts 4 hours until I leave the house. Now my 3G kicks in and the email that I still have open now collects through the opened 3G session, as well as the page I left open downloading something.When I get to work and enter my WiFi area there, the session would then collect my email through WiFi again, and my download as well.

Jun 2, 2014Since the time I purchased my iPhone 5s, I have been facing this problem with Wi-fi. The first two times I went to the customer service, I was told it could be a problem with my modem. Even I thought my modem is the problem, but my andriod mobile does not give any issues as such. The problems I am facing with the Wi-fi is listed below.Â
1. Wifi shows connected, but actually it is not connected. I have too reset my network connections to use the internet. Even then, after some time it stops working.
2. After resetting my network, it works fine for some time, then it disconnects automatically.
3. The wifi speed is very slow compared to my low end andriod phone also.
4. Because of this, I cannot use apps like Facebook, WhatsApp, iPhone AppStore properly. I need to renew lease or rest my network.Â
I have been to the AASP (Imagine, Forum Mall, Bangalore) three times now and everytime they tell is the problem has been rectified reinstalling the software and tested using multiple wifi networks. All they do is reinstall the software and reset the network. It works fine for a day or two. Then the problem starts again.Â
Is there a software to identify if the Wi-fi is connected or not (Other then the icon on the home screen). I want to monitor when it drops, so that I can actually report this the customer service, so that they rectify the problem. Reinstalling the OS is not the solution for this, which solves the problem only for a short period of time.

Jun 18, 2012I have a BlackBerry Storm 2 9550 3G CDMA WiFi OS v5.0.0.1015 Bundle 1656. This phone was with Verizon previously and I have no present carrier. I want to take this phone to Europe to work WiFi and possibly a European Sim Card. I worked with Verizon and the phone is unlocked. I took it to Verizon, and they, as I had done, connected to a WiFi network (ID above clock in white), data and roaming turned off, and received a "success" on setting up. I noticed the "WiFi" symbol is a dull white, as opposed to the network name which is bright white. I go to the browser and it allows me to put in a URL, but when I try to go there, "Internet is not available, check with provider". The browser is set to Hotspot. I have removed the battery to no avail, and have done a security wipe, but the results are the same.Is there a setting I am missing, or something else basic I have overlooked?

After ICS update in November i have to toggle Airplane mode on and off to get wifi connection back after a period of not useing it on my phone .
My wife was reluctant to update hers when I did as she doesn't like change. However over time her phone kept droping wifi network connection. I would have to power it down and remove battery and sim card to get it to stay on wif for a few days. Finaly that was no longer a fix. I went to a AT&T hotspot and downloaded the latest ICS update.on her phone No matter what I do it will connect to our network wifi and bring in mail etc for about ten seconds then the singal bars change from white to blue, The settings menue shows wifi still on blue connected but the signal bars shows blue. Her data use would indicate it is indee using cingular data.

The sync icon in the top screen is constantly going, so I thought maybe it would have something to do with that (I am really not good with anything technology related so I don't know). I did a hard reset and nothing changed. Also, I am able to connect wirelessly on my laptop and other devices. It was honestly working one minute, not working the next.
