Does Nokia Software Updater do the same job as dirrect flashing? Or what is the difference and what is better to use and when? and.does the Application Manager for downloads in the phone do the same as well?

I always get this error whenever I try to flash the Nexus 5 with using the flash-all file, I installed Android Studio, restarted my PC, even got the 6.0 factory image. None work and I always get that error? I'm trying to restart this Nexus 5 for my dad. The Nexus 5 is rooted with franco kernel and TWRP but on stock ROM.

The first one charged up fine and did the NFC pair no problem, but the second unit seems to be having a problem.The second one just flashes the red led when it is in the cradle. The Led on the cradle is green. The red led on the ear piece turns off if I remove the charger, but just returns to flashing when I plug it back in. This has gone on for the past 5 hours. How do I get this unit reset? What does the flashing LED mean? Both units had very sparse information in the box and I can not find the user manual anywhere on the Nokia support site.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've just got a Nokia E72 and have managed to self teach how to operate all the functions I can see needing, ( no thanks to the paper manual the phone came with). Unfortunately from day 1 there has been a black + white envelope icon flashing at the very bottom of the screen. It can't be reached by the navigator and I have no unread messages nor are the message boxes full.
I have read the manual cover to cover and pressed every help button in the phone to no avail. how to stop this flashing icon as it is starting to drive me crazy. Other than that it seems like a really good phone.
Since I first set up my phone three days ago, I have had a small flashing envelope next to a small line arrow on the bottom left of my screen, to the left of the time. View 109 Replies View RelatedI have just this morning got my nokia n900, second hand from ebay. before i put any files on there i want to restore it completely, but this flashing thing is really confusing me. I've done a search of the boards but it baffles me, so if anyone could answer these questions it'd be really helpful:
1) how do i completely wipe it as though it were brand new? (not 'restore original settings' in settings menu, i mean the equivelant of a hard reset)
2) how do i determine what firmware i'm on?
3) what is 'flashing'? is it necessary? if i connect my phone to pc suite/NSU to check for updates, will it work as it does on S60 eg nokia 5800, or do i need another method?
4) i gather the latest firmware isn't yet available for the UK. how do i go about installing it given the n900 doesn't require a changed product code like other models?
I have some problems in my N900 so I flashing the maemo pr RX-51_2009SE_1.2009.42-11.203.2_PR_COMBINED_203_ARM and after flash complete no Sim detect and no IMEI.

I've aquired a N900 with the never ending flashing dots boot problem. I've tried reflashing it a couple of times from my windows 7 laptop but no luck. I did get it to boot into the OS once, but turned it off to insert the SIM and had the same problem again. Is there anything I can try to get this thing working properly again?

View 17 Replies View RelatedI'm having some trouble with the backlight of my N82. I've had the handset for just about 2yrs now and less than a month ago upgraded the software to V 35.0.002. After leaving the phone to charge overnight I woke up to my the sound of the alarm going off (as per usual). However, after disarming the alarm, the backlight started flashing. Not flashing at a set frequency, but an erratic flash. I restarted the phone and even removed the battery for a few minutes, but the problem persists. I thought it may be a hardware problem, but the flashing stops while there is an active window open (e.g. while having the "deleting messages" pop-up or "refreshing the music library"). Also once the power-saver feature kicks in the backlight obviously goes off so the flashing stops.
