I would like to know what this word Reflash or Flashing means in N900 , i often hear it and really wanna know whatz about .i know Meego Code releasing soon from Nokia and everybody talk about Reflashing , what does it mean and Flashing also what it mean .
View 14 RepliesI've messed up my n900. I installed OpenJazz from extras-devel (stupidly ignoring warnings about using extras-devel as a noob) and it appears to have killed the phone.
Now all my desktop widgets have vanished (when I add one, it disappears from the list of available widgets, but isn't visible on the screen), and I can't run any applications (apart from built in things like Calendar and Settings).
I guess I've messed up a system file somewhere and I need to reflash the device, but before I do that I wanted to see if anyone's had this before, and if it's solvable without reflashing? It'd also be interesting to know if anyone can identify exactly what the problem is...
When i try to flash my n900 it says usb device not found. waiting. when i connect my n900 in usb mode it does nothing.im using windows vista please help!
View 109 Replies View RelatedI have just this morning got my nokia n900, second hand from ebay. before i put any files on there i want to restore it completely, but this flashing thing is really confusing me. I've done a search of the boards but it baffles me, so if anyone could answer these questions it'd be really helpful:
1) how do i completely wipe it as though it were brand new? (not 'restore original settings' in settings menu, i mean the equivelant of a hard reset)
2) how do i determine what firmware i'm on?
3) what is 'flashing'? is it necessary? if i connect my phone to pc suite/NSU to check for updates, will it work as it does on S60 eg nokia 5800, or do i need another method?
4) i gather the latest firmware isn't yet available for the UK. how do i go about installing it given the n900 doesn't require a changed product code like other models?
I have some problems in my N900 so I flashing the maemo pr RX-51_2009SE_1.2009.42-11.203.2_PR_COMBINED_203_ARM and after flash complete no Sim detect and no IMEI.

I did get it to boot into the OS once, but turned it off to insert the SIM and had the same problem again. Is there anything I can try to get this thing working properly again?

I have some problems with my new LG GW525 phone.
1) When I change the wall paper picture, the phone restart
2) When I open the browser & goto a page, as soon as the page loaded the phone restart.
3) When I try to login to facebook, the phone says "Unable to complete the operation" after few minutes I entered the username & Password.
4) Push email it always says "try again later. The connection to the service unexpectedly failed. Please try again later"
I can manually receive emails without problem.I thought of reflashing the phone to see the problem will get solved. But how can I reflash this phone?
i realy your help in this one, now i live in Lebanon, and i'm searching for a n900, but the other day my freind told that you can't check for your balance in your phone operartor, is that true, were i live, you need to recharge your phone in before you make phone calls, send messages etc, and to see how much dollars(or what ever its called) you still have in what you have recharged, you need to press *11# and than the green button, and than a message shows up showing you your phone operator balance, is it true that that can't be done on the n900? i like it how i can overclock the n900 from 600 mhz to 1000 mhz in less than 30 sec.

View 7 Replies View Relatedmy Nexus 5 has recently run into a problem where it suddenly decided to get stuck in a bootloop. I figured I could just reflash the stock rom via the boot loader with the wugfresh root toolkit but that unfortunately didn't work. But by doing this I noticed that my bootloader was not staying unlocked when I try to unlock it. Every time I unlock the boot loader and it restarts the bootloader automatically re-locks. I then proceeded to try and manually flashing the stock rom files individually and unlocking the bootloader each time I flash a file which was really annoying. It still hasn't worked and I'm starting to get worried because I've also started to notice my recovery can't really factory reset or wipe the cache. Instead I get this message at the bottom of the screen:

I found a product in some online shopping sites that a signal booster sticker that can be stuck at the back of the battery to improve signal level.Though it looked a bit ridiculous to me, I just wonder whether it works.
