A short while ago the Skyfire browser for S60 5th edition phones was released in beta.I've installed and have been giving it a try and I have to say that it's very good and extremely fast so would definitley reccomend trying this.I know it sounds like it but I'm nothing to do with Skyfire nor am I getting commission...... ah wel!Oh.... best put a few smileys in having just read earlier posts.... some seem to think they're essential.
this browser is said to be good at Internet videos on the symbian phones. well i got my hands on it.... and was disappointed! yes, the actual Internet looks great, but it lags very much. it's like, i have to wait for about 30 seconds for the video to pause after i press the pause button. it seems the video area is almost non responsive and the video itself lags.is this normal or am i missing something?
In an effort to "clean out" the 80 MB phone memory of my XpressMusic 5800, I think I deleted some files I should not have. For example, I thought I would delete the Skyfire and Weatherbug folders from C:, then reinstall it on the 8GB E: drive later. So I did this, then rebooted. The phone seems to be working fine, and Icons for Skyfire and Weatherbug are gone. But now I can't re-load them on the phone. I get to the Ovi store find using the default web browser, but the "Download" bar is grayed out, for both programs. I CAN download programs I have not downloaded before, but I want Skyfire and WBug. It seems either the phone or website is deciding "you already have this program, so you can't download it again". Anyone know how I can fix this?? I am using the latest S60 OS (40.2.005). Phone seems otherwise to be working fine. Any help appreciated.
hey friends,i wanted to know if there is any way of switching opera mini browser to default browser as the nokia browser is much slower than the opera mini. I would also like to know what is making thw nokia browser so slow compared to others.
I attempted to access www.cnbc.com but N900 redirected the browser to m.cnbc.com instead. Could anyone tell me how to set N900 to direct me to the main www.cnbc.com?
after i update my browser nokia i can't use my browser again, whe i open my browser nokia the browser showing texts " aplication kinflick items"... how can i use again my browser???
The browser on my Nokia 701 is great -certainly much better than past versions- but websites 'see' it as a full size browser and so deliver it full size web pages. I have found this leads to much dragging and zooming. If the site also has pop-ups (which can fully obscure the screen!) this can lead to misclicks, impossible to navigate sites etc. Also full size webpages are slow to load and more expensive on data.
This issue has led me to either manually navigating to the mobile versions of the websites I like (bit of a pain) or to simply use the Opera Mini browser instead. The Opera browser is free and websites 'recognise' it as a mobile browser. This means without any work when I surf I instantly get the mobile version of the website I want (assuming one exists), easy to navigate and fast (and so cheaper) to load. In many cases this works much better for me.
So I think Nokia have missed a trick here. Maybe they should offer a feature whereby the user can tell their browser to find either mobile-friendly pages or normal ones. They could even add in a second browser shortcut, one which launches the Nokia browser in a 'mobile' mode.
Now running a 701, beautiful phone to handle and use...now that it has stopped sending my personal information to Nokia via 360Panel [rolls eyes]
I recently unlocked my 8520 from t-mobile to at&t, i have the data plan with both providers. After i started using the 8520 on the at&t network i noticed that i cannot change my setting from hotspot browser to internet browser anymore which in turn i cannot use the data service with at&t that i am paying for. Any help with this issue is greatly appreciated.
When I had my 8310 curve there were a crapload of options in the brower settings and one of them was to select which type of brower it viewed the webpage as, (blackberry, IE, etc.)
anyways, I'd like to know if this option still exists, because I'm trying to access a mobile website but its coming up as the full website. When I tried putting an m. in front of the website it didnt work so I'm not sure how to access it.
Mainly happens while on facebook mobile, and will occure while typing completely randomly. The reply from support is simply update software, I can't see why I have to do all this, as apart from anything else I don't currently have a phone line for internet due to illegal BT sales activity! It is also suggested that I send phone off in a jiffy bag to be repaired if unsuccessful, and what do I do for a phone in the mean time?? Not only that they suggest that it will cost me if it is not a fault they cover.
Just received a notice that there was an update for the Nokia Browser available. Clicked OK to download and install ,....now the broswer won't start because of " Class Notound...Java.." error message.
I bought BB 8900 from T-Mobile without bb plan a few days ago. How can I get BlackBerry browser or Internet Browser, because my bb has only hotspot browser? Can I get them without bb plan?
There is a problem with Nokia Browser on the Nokia Asha 300.The problem is that the browser does not clear cookies when the user toggles 'clear cookies'.The PHP script bellow will demonstrate Nokia Browser's failure to clear cookies.What the PHP script does is generate a random number to a variable within the cookie session. As long as you are using the cookie it creates, then PHP will not generate a new random number. You can see this by hitting refresh - the number will not change.If you visit the page (script) on Firefox, Internet Explorer, Chrome etc and then delete the cookie, a new random will generate.If you visit the page (script) on Nokia Browser and then clear cookies, returning to the page does not generate a new number. This shows that Nokia Browser in fact is not clearing cookies.<?php session_start()if empty($_SESSION['randomnumber'])_SESSION['randomnumber'] = rand(1, 100);
I have nokia x2-02. My default browser is nokia browser.Few days before i updated it.After that it is not opening and showing this message " conflicting application:show items?" and it is nt working even after restore all. I hav a big problem.

I am sure you've been asked before, but are there any better web browsers than opera mobile 10? This version is very slow on my E71, and when i load certain pages (like a new topic in this forum) if i let the entire page load, it closes instantly and i have to restart the app.
I really liked the speed of opera mini, but when i hit "end" key while viewing a webpage to go read a text or msn message, it wouldnt stay running in the background... Are there any good browsers that are fast but support multi-tasking? I hope mozilla's browser is good when it comes out.
Does anyone know how to access the Browser Configuration on OS 6's browser? I want to set it to Internet Explorer and don't know how. It seems to have disappeared. I knew how to do it on the old software but since I upgraded I can't.
i am using Nokia n79 it was working well and everything was normal when suddenly the web browser stopped working..whenever i open the default web browser it shuts down immediately after i enter a link....i am not able to browse properly.
i have connection to internet via my home wlan. e52 can connect to it and when i choose a web page it will open it. but if select a link in a page and try to open that nothing happens. same thing when i try the preconfigured links for the facebook and Internet. i can open the first page, but i cannot login to the facebook. i have to close the connection and type in directly the page where i want to go. i cannot use any links within the web pages.
What is the short key for toggling between 2 web pages in Nokia Browser ? At times some sites open 2 windows and I can see '2' at the top but not able to toggle between the windows.
I can't use Opera mini web browser at all! It loads and finally throws up the following error:"Failed to connect to the Internet."It's frustrating coz I was (am) able to use Opera mini without any glitch on N73.
Is there any way I can set-up Opera Mini as my main default browser (for example if I recieve a text message including a web link so that I can open it with Opera rather than Nokia's browser)
When I use the web browser on my new E72 it closes unexpectedly and somewhat randomly. All software is up to date. I discovered that if I go to the following website I can make it close/crash every time:
is there a way to change the default web browser? Skyfire seems to be working a whole lot better for me so would love to have it as my default i know it still beta version but i've able to access a whole lot more with it.
