The Nokia device "N8-00" is currently connected in a USB mode not supported by Nokia Multimedia Transfer or iSync. where do we go to change the mode on the phone..? or is it changed on the mac.? I've installed multi media transfer but to no avail..?

When I plug my BB in using the USB port, the Desktop S/W doesn't recognize the BB. The only change I've made is installing Google Chrome on my laptop.
I downloaded iTunes 11.4.0.18 this morning. Now my iPhone 5s is no longer recognized. It won't even charge from the computer's USB.  I have Windows 7 on my PC. Apple Mobile Device Support 8.0.0.23 is installed. I even did a "repair" of it, and I see no errors. Should I try to uninstall iTunes and re-install an older version? iPhone 5s, iOS 7.1.2

View 1 Replies View RelatedFor years now I've plugged my iPhone 3Gs into my Mac and downloaded the images and video from it into programs like Photomechanic, Adobe Lightroom, Image Capture, etc...
Sometime within the past 3 months this functionality has quit. None of the above programs "see" the iPhone. iTunes is the only program that agrees that the iPhone is actually plugged into the computer. Everything is up to date. Nothing has changed workflow wise.
I've read previous posts of this happening due to photos received from SMS and email or screen grabs. I've deleted those on my find that I could find and still no luck.

I've had my Curve BB for over a month with little to no problems (it stopped 'pushing' to my custom email a couple weeks ago, but I researched and resent the service books, etc. and it worked fine after that). Now, however, it has dropped/removed my two custom email icons. Poof. Gone. One minute they were there, the next, gone. I've already checked to make sure they weren't hidden. They're not. I went into email setting again and it no longer even showed them as having been set up - one of them being my home email that is pushed to my BB and the second being my BB email itself.
I follow all the steps to make my iPhone recognized on iTunes.But it is not recognized on Windows 7. It don't appears on My Computer, and it does not ask for install driver when I plug it in.

After connecting my N900 to PC the phone is not recognized by the PC. I used new micro USB cable bought on Ebay when this problem occured (I doubt it is a coincidence). Before, with original cable, it worked OK, now it's not working at all.
When conecting the phone Windows alerts with:
"USB device not Recognized. One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned and windows does not recognize it". The phone detects cable being pluged in and offers if I want mass storage or PC Suite mode, but it doesn't matter which one I choose. It also stopped charging from PC.
I have installed the Windows Phone app on my iMac. When I plug in my Lumia 920 I get the charging tone, but the app stays at the "Connect your Windows Phone to continue" screen?

Now, the problem is if I go into Messaging > Email > Inboxes, it says 'No Mailbox defined. Define now?' I start the wizard, it says 'preparing for installation, then takes me straight to my email inbox. No settings are changed - if I try to do the same thing again, it still says no mailboxes are defined and tries to start the wizard again.
I can't even delete it. Cos when I try to find the mail box to delete it says no mail box defined. I'm running the latest firmware, 50.0.005. There is no updates better than this I think!
I created a few .m3u playlists (from a different application) which open fine using programs like VLC and such. The paths are relative from the location of the .m3u file, so I have .m3u files mixed in with my tracks (not in a separate "Playlists" directory).
Ovi Suite has no option to preserve directory structure of tracks, so I am copying the tree of files directly using windows instead of using it's brain-dead sync. I lost all my playlists once and I don't want to use that program to generate them again.
From the n8 Music Player app, I refresh library and can see the playlist entries corresponding to each of my .m3u files, but each playlist contains 0 tracks. It seems that the music player app is finicky about the playlist format? Does it allow for #EXTM3U tags? What are the specs? Where do I file a bug report against this application?
i m charging my n97 mini via usb. the light on the side is on but the screen is black. Is something supposed to happen on the screen? and its not being recognized in ovi suite.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI just got my N900 about 2 days back, my sister dropped it and it would not turned on. I flashed it, and now it turns on but it does not recognize my internal memory card. I don't have an external card. I can't use camera, all websites show blank, and I get low error messages on almost everything else due to this.
If I go to settings/memory the the device memory is full and available memory for installable applications is at 80 MB. There is no corrupt memory card message. Also if I go to backup utility I get a "no memory card inserted" message. Any suggestions?

And now as the N900 starts (takes a really long time) it does not ask for the SIM-card PIN code and as it is started it just shows a SIM-card icon with a red line over it near the battery icon. SIM-card is fine as it works on my N95. Any ideas what's wrong? I also tried another SIM-card. Nothing. And PC-Suite is not recognizing the phone either. I even tried flashing the eMMC but it didn't make any difference. The small lights in the bottom of the screen just blink for about 45 seconds and then after the boot video the phone start as if no SIM-card is there.
When I connect my 5230 to my laptop via the usb, the laptop thinks "device not recognized", do I need to change my laptop settings or phone setting ? Try not to blind me with science.

I thought its a bug in preview so I dont really care and use to move data by Remote device manager. Than I got the denim update....then wp 8.1 Update 2.... now windows 10 Technical Preview but my phone didn't recognized. Change many data cables and tried on 3 different laptops with different OS but not get luck. Than I took my laptop and all the data cables I have to the Mobile Phone Market I searched for Lumia 1020. And surprisingly I found 3 devices having update wp 8.1 not any developers preview or windows insider app. They all connected with my laptop instantly with my data cables. When an audio device is connected to my car audio, the symbol ♪ appears, telling me that not only a PHONE device is connected, but also an audio device, so that I can make calls and also listen to music (in 2 different sources: one for calls (BT Phone channel)and other for mp3 (BT Audio device) < this one with a real good audio).
I connected my nokia c3 to this car audio but it wasnt recognized as an audio device, only as a phone and the symbol ♪ didn't appear. That is, I CAN play songs, but the audio quality is horrible, trashy, as if it was a phone call (cuz it will use the bt phone source, not the bta device). But when i connect any other phone, the audio plays normally.
I got the c3 connected to my PC and it was also recognized as a phone (and also a modem) BUT NOT as an audio device.
I have the latest maps on my Nokia E55, v3.03 10wk01 b05 MW, map v. 0.1.23.112, but the compass is not working. I know it should have a green circle but the circle is alwasys white. Does it work automatically as I cannot find reference to it in the application. Also, the manual says you can input post codes for locations, but they are not recognised. Again, I can find no reference in the application.

Although i have tried reinstalling windows media player, Ovi player etc., but those certain files just redownload in few seconds and also they have Unknown Artists and unknown Albums with them. While i have no problems in playing other files , so i don't think this is a codec related issue.

Looks like an Adata or Kingston except for the lack of logo.When I installed it out of the package the phone said the card was corrupted, so I reformatted on PC.Took it out of PC, put it in the phone, phone said the card was unformatted, and gave me the option of formatting it.Ran the phone's formatting option , and the card is not recognized on the phone or the PC.when installed in the phone and I go to "memory" in the filemanager, the cardslot shows as empty, no card in place. when I put the card into the slot on my notebook, it doesn't even recognize the mSDcard.does this mean the card is defective.

I'll be going away to (very) foreign parts next month, so I'd like to use the N900 as a tethered modem for my netbook. However when I connect the phone to the netbook via the USB cable, and choose the "PC suite" option, the phone is recognised when I use lsusb in a terminal, but the modem *is not*. Is there something in the phone settings I need to tweak, or an extra app I need to install in the phone, or is it a more fundamental flaw? Google searches for "Nokia N900" + modem + linux give pages which suggest that it should "just work", but it doesn't
If all else fails, I may have to fall back to using my previous phone (a Sony Ericsson v630i), which I *have* used successfully as a tethered modem, but I'd prefer to keep using the N900...
I got my N900 monday together with a new O2 sim card. It worked fine on monday and tuesday, but since yesterday, the connectivity to the O2 network is down. When I start up the phone, it asks for the PIN; so it seems that the sim card is recognized. But it does not connect to the network! The provider name does not appear next to the status bar, and there is no connectivity indicator on the status bar. Offline mode is disabled, of course.
Text messages cannot be send; when I try to call someone, I get an error (translated from german: "network not available" or similar). The strange thing is that sometimes I can reach the network for very short time. I then get missed test messages, but that's it. The connection lasts for not more than 2-3 minutes, I guess. I tried another sim card, and this one did not work, too. The sim card was placed properly into the slot. Is there anything I can do, or may this be a well-known firmware bug?
My Nokia 6120 won't Sync. The message is "Hardware Not Recognized" or "USB Device Not Recognized". When the problem first appeared I upgraded Nokia PC Suite to version 7.1.40.1. Ive got several albums on my memory card and I would like to transfer the music to the mass drive on the N97, I have dropped an album into sounds, then gone into the player and pressed the refresh option but unfortunately the album doesnt appear whatsoever.
Is there a certain folder that has to be made or even for the music to go into for the player to recognise it? Ive tried reversing the option and putting the album back onto my memory card, the album has disappeared altogether but still shows up for transferring to other folders. Can you possibly tell my where Im going wrong.
There is another problem thats arisen, the phone doesnt recognise the usb lead when attached to either my laptop or main pc, Im buying another lead so Im just hoping that would be an answer to my problem on that part.
I had a problem when I added an Exchange Mailbox on a Nokia N8 and I had to take off the Device PIN lock from Exchange Access Clients and it automaticaly restarted the phone followed by a factory reset. When it was done, the phone lost all its contacts, messages and music. Than I have discovered the MicroSDHC Class 4 Card 8Gb was not been recognized in Windows and tried also on Linux with no success. Is there anyway to recover back the important information from the MicroSD card?

It keeps trying to send them but never sends, I have called my network (o2) who says its the phone but it was working ok for 5 months, I have turned off the GPRS connectivity and checked my SMS settings, all is fine but it just wont send.I have a sneaking suspicion that this has happened since I use the 'software update' tool but the only updates that were updated was 'ovi contacts' and 'ovi maps' could they interfere with my sms?
