Nov 13, 2012I have installed the Windows Phone app on my iMac. When I plug in my Lumia 920 I get the charging tone, but the app stays at the "Connect your Windows Phone to continue" screen?

Apr 24, 2015After update to wp 8.1 Prev my phone didn't recognized by my laptop (windows 7), Its been more than 9 months now. I thought its a bug in preview so I dont really care and use to move data by Remote device manager. Than I got the denim update....then wp 8.1 Update 2.... now windows 10 Technical Preview but my phone didn't recognized. Change many data cables and tried on 3 different laptops with different OS but not get luck. Than I took my laptop and all the data cables I have to the Mobile Phone Market I searched for Lumia 1020. And surprisingly I found 3 devices having update wp 8.1 not any developers preview or windows insider app. They all connected with my laptop instantly with my data cables. The 3 difference I found in my device and other devices are:

Lumia 1520 :: Not Recognized On Any Computer
Jul 26, 2014Running the latest DP build of WP 8.1 (8.10.12397.895) and, of course, would like to downgrade back to WP 8 so I can get the Cyan update.
Problem is that my phone is not being recognized on any computer I plug it into.
I've tried two Win 8.1 machines, a Win 2K12 and a Win 7. On all of them, I've completely uninstalled all of the Nokia software (three of the four machines had never had the software installed) and then reinstalled both the NSU and NSU for Retail. No go.
I did a reset on my phone. No go.
I removed both the SIM and the SD card. No go.
I've toggled the hidden USB settings on the phone. No go.
I've rebooted the phone upteen times. No go.
The phone is simply not being detected by the desktop OS and is not being installed on the computer.
I've tried everything I can think of to get this to work.

Only charges when plugged in, slow charging notification pops up.
No new hardware "ding" sound.
No new devices in device manager.
No devices with exclamation mark in device manager.
No unknown or unrecognized devices in device manager.
No devices listed in usb-view
Background : I was on Windows 10 build 10581. Upgraded to 10586. All fine.
Phone showed up and everything. However I wanted to go back to 8.1, so I started up the Windows Device Recovery Tool. It asked for a mandatory update. Updated. It recognized my phone (which was on). Started downloading server side software. I ran out of battery (the laptop), and it shut down. After starting up again, the phone is unrecognizable.
I unintsalled Windows Device Recovery Tool and tried to install again. Error. Several times. Finally after cleaning up everything related to it (RevoUninstaller), I managed to install it again. However, my phone still never is recognized. Uninstalled all Nokia/Microsoft drivers (no luck).

Lumia 1520 :: Every Photos In SD Card Recognized As Other In Storage Sense
Jan 14, 2015I have a problem with my boss' Lumia 1520. Would love to import photos to 1520 and since every photos are categorized in folders, I just copied all the folders to Pictures folder in SD Card.
What happens next is that these photos don't show up in Photos App. I checked the Storage Sense, it said that there is no photos (0KB), and the size of all the folders I have copied before are shown in Other Storage (~4GBs)
What I have tried:
- Format the SD Card using Storage Sense, then put the SD Card inside the phone and connect it to PC, then moved the photos to the phone using USB Connection. Failed.
- Put the SD Card into my Transcend Card Reader, move the photos into the SD Card then put it again into the phone. Failed.
- Renaming the folders in Files App in Lumia, then check the Photos App whether it has shown up in the album section. Failed.
- Renaming the folders in Windows 7, then check the Photos App whether it has shown up in the album section. Failed.
- Fully format the SD Card using Windows 7, and move the photos to the SD Card and put it again into the phone. In progress: formatting the SD Card.

Nokia :: N900 Not Recognized By PC
May 3, 2010After connecting my N900 to PC the phone is not recognized by the PC. I used new micro USB cable bought on Ebay when this problem occured (I doubt it is a coincidence). Before, with original cable, it worked OK, now it's not working at all.
When conecting the phone Windows alerts with:
"USB device not Recognized. One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned and windows does not recognize it". The phone detects cable being pluged in and offers if I want mass storage or PC Suite mode, but it doesn't matter which one I choose. It also stopped charging from PC.

Jul 16, 2010I have defined g-mail mailbox on my 5800. It seems to be working fine.
Now, the problem is if I go into Messaging > Email > Inboxes, it says 'No Mailbox defined. Define now?' I start the wizard, it says 'preparing for installation, then takes me straight to my email inbox. No settings are changed - if I try to do the same thing again, it still says no mailboxes are defined and tries to start the wizard again.
I can't even delete it. Cos when I try to find the mail box to delete it says no mail box defined. I'm running the latest firmware, 50.0.005. There is no updates better than this I think!
Nokia Nseries :: M3u Playlists Not Recognized On The N8
Mar 28, 2011I created a few .m3u playlists (from a different application) which open fine using programs like VLC and such. The paths are relative from the location of the .m3u file, so I have .m3u files mixed in with my tracks (not in a separate "Playlists" directory).
Ovi Suite has no option to preserve directory structure of tracks, so I am copying the tree of files directly using windows instead of using it's brain-dead sync. I lost all my playlists once and I don't want to use that program to generate them again.
From the n8 Music Player app, I refresh library and can see the playlist entries corresponding to each of my .m3u files, but each playlist contains 0 tracks. It seems that the music player app is finicky about the playlist format? Does it allow for #EXTM3U tags? What are the specs? Where do I file a bug report against this application?

Aug 23, 2010I just got my N900 about 2 days back, my sister dropped it and it would not turned on. I flashed it, and now it turns on but it does not recognize my internal memory card. I don't have an external card. I can't use camera, all websites show blank, and I get low error messages on almost everything else due to this.
If I go to settings/memory the the device memory is full and available memory for installable applications is at 80 MB. There is no corrupt memory card message. Also if I go to backup utility I get a "no memory card inserted" message. Any suggestions?
Nokia :: N900 - Set Reflashed / SIM Card Is Not Recognized

And now as the N900 starts (takes a really long time) it does not ask for the SIM-card PIN code and as it is started it just shows a SIM-card icon with a red line over it near the battery icon. SIM-card is fine as it works on my N95. Any ideas what's wrong? I also tried another SIM-card. Nothing. And PC-Suite is not recognizing the phone either. I even tried flashing the eMMC but it didn't make any difference. The small lights in the bottom of the screen just blink for about 45 seconds and then after the boot video the phone start as if no SIM-card is there.

I connected my nokia c3 to this car audio but it wasnt recognized as an audio device, only as a phone and the symbol ♪ didn't appear. That is, I CAN play songs, but the audio quality is horrible, trashy, as if it was a phone call (cuz it will use the bt phone source, not the bta device). But when i connect any other phone, the audio plays normally.
I got the c3 connected to my PC and it was also recognized as a phone (and also a modem) BUT NOT as an audio device.

Does it work automatically as I cannot find reference to it in the application. Also, the manual says you can input post codes for locations, but they are not recognised. Again, I can find no reference in the application.

However when I connect the phone to the netbook via the USB cable, and choose the "PC suite" option, the phone is recognised when I use lsusb in a terminal, but the modem *is not*. Is there something in the phone settings I need to tweak, or an extra app I need to install in the phone, or is it a more fundamental flaw? Google searches for "Nokia N900" + modem + linux give pages which suggest that it should "just work", but it doesn't
If all else fails, I may have to fall back to using my previous phone (a Sony Ericsson v630i), which I *have* used successfully as a tethered modem, but I'd prefer to keep using the N900...
Nokia :: N900 - No Mobile Network Connectivity / SIM Card Not Recognized
May 20, 2010I got my N900 monday together with a new O2 sim card. It worked fine on monday and tuesday, but since yesterday, the connectivity to the O2 network is down. When I start up the phone, it asks for the PIN; so it seems that the sim card is recognized. But it does not connect to the network! The provider name does not appear next to the status bar, and there is no connectivity indicator on the status bar. Offline mode is disabled, of course.
Text messages cannot be send; when I try to call someone, I get an error (translated from german: "network not available" or similar). The strange thing is that sometimes I can reach the network for very short time. I then get missed test messages, but that's it. The connection lasts for not more than 2-3 minutes, I guess. I tried another sim card, and this one did not work, too. The sim card was placed properly into the slot. Is there anything I can do, or may this be a well-known firmware bug?

Mar 27, 2010Ive got several albums on my memory card and I would like to transfer the music to the mass drive on the N97, I have dropped an album into sounds, then gone into the player and pressed the refresh option but unfortunately the album doesnt appear whatsoever.
Is there a certain folder that has to be made or even for the music to go into for the player to recognise it? Ive tried reversing the option and putting the album back onto my memory card, the album has disappeared altogether but still shows up for transferring to other folders. Can you possibly tell my where Im going wrong.
There is another problem thats arisen, the phone doesnt recognise the usb lead when attached to either my laptop or main pc, Im buying another lead so Im just hoping that would be an answer to my problem on that part.

Than I have discovered the MicroSDHC Class 4 Card 8Gb was not been recognized in Windows and tried also on Linux with no success. I believe it is synced automatically to Sky-drive but I cannot find evidence of this. I would like to have control of this data for easy retrieval and stored on my PC. Windows phone software on my PC is sub standard in comparison with Nokia Suite. It is clunky, contacts cannot be backed up, photos have no picture reference when transferred and the overall Windows Phone software on my PC is second rate in contrast to the Windows Phone 8 phone experience. Can anyone enlighten me on how I can easily copy my contacts to PC. No problem getting contacts into the phone. Just unclear on how to get a copy of them out.

I took delivery of it yesterday and it's been fully charged. I've set the Date+time to 'Set Automatically' to 'On'
