Nokia Nseries :: Moving Sms/mms/email From Phone Memory (C:) To Store On Any Disk?
Apr 26, 2012
In Nokia 5800 (S60v5) we had an option to store sms/mail on any disk. It was possible to move messages to SD card releasing space on disk C:Now we can't do that. This option has been removed. Why?Is there any plans to give us this option back again?
Disk error - cannot complete write retry or data will be lost.I tried to format mass memory but didn't work can't format. Showing same error continuously can do anything.also tried hard reset didn't work.
I'am using nokia 5233. I had this problem for 3 or 4 times my mobile shows disk error can't complete read or write data. Then I can't open memory card and can't format it in 5233 I formated it in nokia 2700 then it works why is this happening? and what can i do for it?

I have a Nokia 5800 and it has broken sadly. I was using the PC suite to edit and move stuff from my phone memory before I send it back, and I was just wondering how I copy or move the contacts from the phone memory to either the memory card or the SIM card.
is there any chance to store apps installs on the memory card, so i can store them and install when i want, after reset, reinstall, instead of downloading them everytime from store?
I go this error in my 8GB memory card, I tried to switch off but it didn't work, finally I tried to format the card on pc but I even cannot format the card, but I can access the memory in pc, I copied all item but still cannot format card, then I tried another card of 2GB but same thing happen to this card ! I can access to card but this error continuously blinks.
While changing to memory card, interacting with messages become slow, and this time it happened that when a msg is received, the phone displayed a message 'Disk write error, retry or exit!' This doesn't happens when using phone memory. Using Nokia 5233.
I have a Nokia N8, and i have a problem with the phone memory i only have 17,4mb free how/what can i delete to get more space? I dont have any programs installed on the phone memory
My N8 only has 27mb left on the physical phone memory. I tried to clear some space through x-plorer but was only able to clear like 10 megs out of 250. i cleared messages, i tried tons of things, any recommendations? I don't install any apps to the phone and i try to keep my active apps to a low.
i have n8 belle, and have problem of low phone memory. I searched answers to this problem on the forum, all were related to deleting old messages etc. If i go to memory details via file manager, contacts and messages together only occupy 10mb. Most is taken up by 'other files'.I opened my phone memory via x-plore app, and i found a folder called Private. It has around 88mb memory. And it looks useless, it has files with names of apps that i have uninstalled ages ago. Can i delete the folder Private? How will it affect my phone if i delete it.?
Recently, i had removed all games and few applications , to make phone memory atlest 18 mb free. Then later i installed new applications on my Micro-sd card. everything is working fine. Then all of sudden after few days, My phone memory drops to 12Mb free. Why sudden consumption of phone memory and i tried removing internet cache and history saved. still my phone memory is at 12mb free. No new application is installed on phone memory. What could be the reason for this sudden and constant consumption of phone memory of almost 6mb
I have a Sony Xperia Z3 16GB version and Recently I had been to a hiking trip and had used my Xperia Z3 on the trip extensively for photos and vidoes. I have taken as much as 600 photos and few videos of size 2.9 GB. Since the phone memory was getting full, i moved the images, videos using the "Move Files to SD Card" option found under "Settings --> Storage".
The Transfer finished successfully and the phone memory was relieved. Now after this transfer, i can't open any images moved to SD card. They all were moved to "DCIM --> 100ANDRO" folder.
The photos seem to be corrupted. ALL OF THEM
This is such a mess and I tried a few tools for recovering the images. They didn't woork for me. How to recover these photos? These are memories from a Trip which I can do only once in life time.
The jpeg image properties show up the File Size clearly which means that the content is still there but somehow corrupted.
i own a 5800 and when i tried to access to the memory card through the file manager it says the card was corrupted. but when i inserted the card in a memory card reader, it works accept that i cant eject it and a pop-up window came out saying an error occured while ejecting the card. it is a 8Gb memory card. i found a solution similar to my situation but is there any other alternative ways that doesn't require me to download huge files?
I wonder why my phone memory is almost full all the time. I dont have anythin on that memory, all applications are in mass memory and all pics and wids. I have tried to move data to mass memory but i have already moved all that i can and i still have only 7MB free space in phone memory. I cant even install new ovi store to my phone because I just dont have enough space. and I dont understand why it tryes to installa it to c: drive enethough my settings in ovi store tells it to install all things to mass drive.
My photos and videos are auto saved to my SD card. The videos play very choppily. I am trying to move some to my phone memory. I can view them under photos, camera roll. But when I go to file explorer, only photos , not videos show up in that folder?? What do I do?
Today I launched TuneWiki for the first time. Before that my phone memory was normal (not low). And after I registered at TuneWiki, the app scanned my music, and after that I got an error saying that: Disk space exhausted. cleanup the disk or re-install application on another drive. Well, the truth is, that I can't even uninstall it, because I get almost the same error. Tried to install the app again without uninstalling but the same happened.
I cant scan phone memory of nokia 5233 using antivirus.when my phone is in mass storage mode via USB, it only shows Memory Card under my computer, It never shows phone memory. We also know that if we keep phone in ovi suite mode, it dont shows option to scan phone memory.
I am using Nokia 500. My question is how to delete unwanted files in C: Phone memory, which has 83MB SIS applications and 81 MB other files and why daily the free memory is getting reduced for example it was 100 mb earlier and I dint even installed new applications and it reduced to 20 MB, is there any option as we have in computer like clearing files in %temp% and prefetch .
I'm using 5530 XpressMusic phone for a year now. The problem is, I formatted my handset a month ago but now when I check the Memories, it says Phone Memory 1.3 MB Free (Almost Full) while my Memory card's memory is doing good. how to tackle with this situation? Because when I connect my phone to PC and check the Phone Memory, I only find files sizing 89 kb.
i have formatted my phone memory ,as of that the contacts are also deleted is there any way to restore them ,because the phonebook is very important for me as fast as possible , im out side my country now sorry if this is a repeated topic , but i searched the net before i finally landed here
N8's Phone memory is only 250MB. The default memory for storage mails and other stuff is phone memory. How can I switch to MASS STORAGE or MEMORY CARD. specially mailForExchange msgs?
I've just recently installed a 4GB MSD/HC card with a view to freeing up some memory on the phone itself. I was hoping to move all my music, videos and images to the memory card.
The images moved across fine with only a little bit of trouble from "Desktop Photo Applet", but once I redirected it to the card things are now OK there.
I'd also like to do the same with all the music tracks and videos that are stored in phone memory, but as soon as I moved most of the music tracks, media player started going mammaries skyward, complaining it couldn't find tracks. needless to say I moved them back and didn't bother trying to move the videos.
Have just been sent new E72 as my old one died (see my other post). All is well except when i connect to PC via USB cable and select 'Mass Storage' I get the message 'Memory Store Unavailable' on my phone and cannot access the contents of my memory card. I have the latest firmware on the phone. I can access the card through nokia PC Suite but that's a pain and I never had this problem before with my old E72.I'm running XP - if I go to my computer and double click 'Removable Disc (E' I just get the 'please insert disc into drive E' message.
