I've just recently installed a 4GB MSD/HC card with a view to freeing up some memory on the phone itself. I was hoping to move all my music, videos and images to the memory card.
The images moved across fine with only a little bit of trouble from "Desktop Photo Applet", but once I redirected it to the card things are now OK there.
I'd also like to do the same with all the music tracks and videos that are stored in phone memory, but as soon as I moved most of the music tracks, media player started going mammaries skyward, complaining it couldn't find tracks. needless to say I moved them back and didn't bother trying to move the videos.
I am trying to move music files from the media card to the device memory. I have accessed Blackberry website and followed the instructions but my menu does not give the option to 'Move'. This is a replacement handset and apparently software etc has been upgraded since I got the previous one 7 months ago. I want to use music as a ring tone (I am also having problems downloading music but that's another story). Can anyone out there help as I am at the point where I might just flush the thing down the loo and go back to a basic mobile!
I want to move pictures from the device memory to the newly installed media card. I have consulted forums on this and the procedure seems to be clear - BUT! I follow procedure and when I see the media card as an option to move to, it appears above a line and cannot be selected.
I used my phone file transfer Z2 my new microSD card. Many of the photos have come defective and some completely destroyed. I have also lost one very important for my video.
Defective images that are on the memory card can not be repararadas and in the internal memory of the phone do not appear.
Programs have file recovery card but I can not use it in the internal memory of the phone.
All my media files on the memory card are hidden. When i select any of the options in Media menu, I can only access the item that have been saved onto phone memory. All the files/folders that where on the memory card have dissapereard.
When i am in Explore mode and select the Show Hidden option, I can see all my previous files/folders. All the folders on the mem card have been hidden, and thus my device cant access the files.
How do i change this attribute permanatley, restore it to what it was.
I am currently using a bb 9800 but I cannot access any of my media files all of a sudden tried re starting it but still didn't work. When plugged to the PC I still can't view any files.
Am on win 8. All my media files are showing up in phone mem + sd card memory. I once deleted all media from phone, removed my sd card and inserted it back but still media files seems to occupy both phone + sd memory.
I am trying to transfer music files from my device memory to my media card, I have read that I need to go to Media>Explore - which I have managed to do in the past. I tried doing it recently and I can not find the Explore option.
it shows double-2 files in music player. My second problem is when I download any game or app to it & try to move them to any folder of memory card. It says name already exists or name already exists in target folder 1, 2 or any other, it's not memory card issue. i think the problem is in it is memory card reader or any other software problem.
My Nokia e71x died, I had a ton of pictures on my SD card. The USB slot also broke so thats not an option to plug into the PC. I was wondering if I plugged my old SD card into a new Nokia E6, would it read my pictures and files? are the operating systems compataible to do that?
I have the Bold 9700 coming from many years of using Palm OS devices.I am running OS 5.0.0.344 I am an Anesthesiologist and use my device for communication but also to keep track of my scheduling and billable activiities. have very few extra app's loaded but consistently run free memory in the 5- 10 MB range. I do notice things slowing down as the free memory drops but no lockups as a rule. My only third party apps are Pocket Informant for scheduling, Epocrates for Pharmaceutical info and HanDBase for BB to keep track of my Billings and professional activities (This works but MUCH slower & is relatively crippled compared to HanDBase on my old Treo 680 but that is another story)I deleted all the games and any unnecessary apps but still have pretty marginal memory. I have also loaded Memory Booster which does not affect these values but may improve performance.I would love to delete all those PNG images loaded with the device but have not been able to find any reliable info on how to do this under OS5.Do I have some sort of memory leaks? Are there any other ways that I could find out which apps are eating up the memory?Any other suggestions that would improve this situation? It baffles me to read of people complaining about not enough apps for the BB when I can barely run what I currently have loaded. (Interestingly, I was able to run all these apps on my old Palm Treo with it's massive 32MB RAM - I know it didn't have to run all that Java wizardry & it was not nearly as good a phone but it is ironic that BB's latest & greatest should be so marginal in its performance)Any suggestions or advice gratefully received.
I was just wondering if anyone has tried this hack? http://lightsandshapes.com/iphone-3g...ory-management I have an iPhone 3G and I have tried deleting unused language packs and deleting launch daemons. However my phone is still so slow and sbsettings shows i have little to no memory free. I was thinking about trying it...is it safe?
I got my Xperia mini pro (SK17i, Android 2.3.4, firmware 4.0.2.A.0.58 after update) a couple of days ago. Unfortunately, trying to activate my Google account during the setup procedure crashed/rebooted the phone twice in a row before I managed to complete the setup. Afterwards I have immediately updated to firmware 4.0.2.A.0.58 but still have experienced the occasional crash about 2-3 times a day.
Usually it happens when doing stuff with the phone. I have read that there is a new firmware update coming our way (4.0.2.A.0.6x) which is supposed to fix some memory management issues. Indeed, the last couple of times I have experienced crashes, the "crash log" in /proc/last_kmsg has shown Unable to handle kernel paging request (+ a nice trace) just before the kernel panicked and rebooted the phone.
I have a Nokia 5800 and it has broken sadly. I was using the PC suite to edit and move stuff from my phone memory before I send it back, and I was just wondering how I copy or move the contacts from the phone memory to either the memory card or the SIM card.
In Nokia 5800 (S60v5) we had an option to store sms/mail on any disk. It was possible to move messages to SD card releasing space on disk C:Now we can't do that. This option has been removed. Why?Is there any plans to give us this option back again?
Really working nokia giving a very worst experience.i can't use ovi, when am moving to more pages its giving error messages.memory close some application, and when try to open a web page more than 600 kb,same exception is giving.i lost hope on nokia lost..waste of amount.
In my past nokia 5800 when i save my flash files i go to gallery then I choose other media to view them but where do i should go to view them in my new nokia n97 mini?
I think we can only transfer music/photos/videos to WP using Zune. Is there anyway to transfer a file, say like a ".cbr" to my phone's storage and not going through SkyDrive?
I just got the N8 & can't add mp4 or mkv files to my mass media, I've tried other formats aswell avi, divx, I've even copied the mp4 movie trailer that you get already on the phone from my pc back to the phone & it's still getting an error message.
I can get windows media/audio file to work, but that's it.
I have a Blackberry 9300 3g curve. Whenever I download any application it ets stored in the phone memory, I have all my media files and the photos stored in the Media card. How can I move the applications such as games, themes etc. to the media card storage.
I'm trying to add some ringtones to my Torch. They are there and I can see them in the file manager or when I sync to my Mac. But when I go to the ringtones folder, they are not listed. There is an option to select music for a ringtone, so I put the mp3 file in the music folder along with other music files, but none show up.
The same thing happens when I take pictures with the phone. If I look at the pictures folder, it says no pictures. But if I go through file manager to the media card, I can see the pictures.
I just got me a One yesterday and I'm ready to move music to the phone. I have it plugged in via usb (on a Macbook), but the computer doesn't see it. I downloaded the HTC Sync Manager, that also doesn't see the phone. In other phones you have to make a choice of charging/file transfer/etc, but I do not see this. I'm used to Samsung phones, so this is a bit different for me. I"m running 4.4.2 and Sense is 5.5.
I was attempting to move an icon on my Downloads panel to my media folder, and I highlighted it and pressed the menu button, when the entire panel suddenly went blank.
I have an N96. Recently, I have noticed that the memory (C: Phone Memory) is being used up. I have been constantly deleting stuff from this drive but although it clears about 1 or 2 Mb each time, the memory gets filled up again. The list of the stuff I do is:-
Clear all messages, inbox, outbox and sent. Clear the browser cache. Check for any unusual files using X-Plore Occasionally check Google Maps, resetting it (although I never use it).
I have been searching for difference opinions as to what is causing this problem and keep seeing that a reset may help but I really don't want to do this if it is un-necessary. What I checked the details of the C: drive, I get :-
80Mb Memory in use 3032kb Free memory 411b Calender 31kb Contacts 5kb Messages 0b Images 0b Sound files 0b Video clips 181kb Documents 0b MIDP apps 9601kb SIS applications 70MB Other files
I have no idea what these other files are and how to get rid of them.Any help would be appreciated as I have already had the phone unable to load at start up due to lack of memory (although I managed to get this sorted). It just seems the memory keeps filling up. Two days ago, I had 5Mb free, a couple of hours ago it was 120kb. I have only got this room by removing the N-Gage app.
I took a new sd card (strontium class 10 32gb nitro) I'm not able to tranfer files from internal storage to mcard through file manager (es file explorer)..it shows error moving files..
I had a HTC Rezound and with it came a 16gb sd card. So I moved it to my new HTC One but since then I've been having issues. All photos, videos, music and others are read correctly.
The problem is moving files to the sd card or within it. Happened when using a file explorer app, backing up sms/calls to sd card and all had some kind of error.
I bought a 4GB SD card for my brand new Samsung T404G touch screen cell phone.I tried bluetooth transfer, but PC and phone wouldn't pair no big deal so I bought a USB cord.So now, PLEASE, will someone tell me exactly (remember am new and stupid about cell phones!) how I go about transferring the MP3 files?
Is there anyway i can access the other file in the phone memory.everytime i download an app it keep reducing eventhough it install the app in my card memory.and i dont think all the file there are of great importance to the system itself.now i'm left with just 3mb. hard format doesnt seem to delete this file
I need answer to one problem. My nokia N 96 says that phone memory is full. How I can delete some files from phone memory? I have in download folder 18 MB some files but I cant access to this folder.
