I have had my trusty N8 for about a year, and today the screen has decided to **bleep** up. When I turn the phone on, the screen is multiple coloured vertical lines across it, and can't see the software number pad to unlock the phone. I have done a soft-reset of the device by holding the power button down for 5-8 seconds (or however long it is), but didn't make a difference.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a 16GB Nokia n96, and it was working completely fine till a couple weeks back the screen went blank, so i assumed it had switched itself off. I took the battery out and tried switching it back on, but the screen didn't come on. The phone vibrated once like normal on start-up, then the keypad lit up and the buttons on the slide-up bit, but nothing can be seen on the screen. I can also hear the beeps when i press different buttons, and also I could remember off by heart where my music player was on it, so i pressed the right buttons and my music actually started playing!

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using a Nokia N8, I was trying to update my phone from the Nokia suite on my laptop. While the update was going on, I received a message on my phone screen saying, Not enough memory to perform operation. Delete some data first.
I clicked OK to move to the memory to delete, but unable to move from the blank space.
After taking a photo my N8 screen has simply frozen. Nothing when I touch the screen, I cant even reboot it.

I have bought it and hard reset it yesterday with button combination and also with factory settings option.Now, the problem is that when i start any installation, it asks to install it. When i press ok it proceeds to neXt dialogue, either asking for permissions or asking to close an app, depending o the sis file.NOW, a moment before this dialogue, i get totally black screen for milliseconds. And then i cannot touch any button when the prompt appears. I can switch to menu and hs using hardware keys but cannot touch anything on screen. Long pressing menu key allows me to touch the screen and close apps but i can't touch anything else. I can also use power key menu to shut down mobile.Everything else is normal otherwise, i even installed many apps today successfully but now this problem occurs.

Restarted the phone, still not work, did a reset on the phone (held power button till it vibrated), still not working. I'm having troubles with the calendar application on my N97. When I try to run it, the screen just refreshes and that's it, the app doesn't run at all. This is the case with both homescreen shortcut and actual calendar icon in the menu. I've restarted the phone a couple of times and it didn't work.

And yes after the initial install I installed the 4 other packages (Nokia Anna 1/2, 2/2, Ovi Store & Social). found that I didnt get a split screen anywhere. On Googling I found that split screen only works with Swype disabled. So I uninstalled SwypeNow I'm getting split screen in the search widget, browser, phonebook etc... but not in CONVERSATIONS (messaging app)

View 8 Replies View RelatedI've had this phone for years and have got some important info on this phone and i really need it back working.So 2 days ago i dropped my phone from a tall building by accident and the screen is no longer working. When i dropped it the battery came out and nothing else. I put the battery back in and the screen worked for a little bit but there was horizontal lines going across the screen so i turned it off and turned it back on and now the screen shows nothing. The green, white and red lights work at the bottom and the sound works when i turn it on. The top left corner of the screen was moving up and down for about 1 mm or so. I could press it back in with my fingers, but after couple of seconds it just came up again. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have had my N97 Mini for nearly two years. In that time, it has been a fairly trouble-free device. A few times it has seized, had some issues, and about 18 months ago the touch screen stopped working -- but it was repaired, and I have had no issues since. Until now.
About a week ago, my phone's screen started behaving oddly. I can't really describe it -- the display would overwhelm with static, it would distort irregularly. to describe the visuals, it looked a lot like interference. Flashes of green, things like that. I could, at times, see my homescreen background. But it would disappear as quickly as it came.Even now, it is still responsive; the phone charges, responds to USB connection, and when I swipe the screen I can feel the vibrations of my homescreen content. When I flip it out, the keys still light up. Everything works fine.
I have not dropped my phone.About a week or so prior to these complications, it was raining; a couple of droplets go on the screen but I cleaned them away. As far as I know, the phone was relatively dry; though if it was water damage, would it have responded sooner than a week after the phone was touched by water?I honestly don't know what its problem is, how to fix it, what to do.
The screen of my N97 mini turns black and freezes after answering any call and I must slide it to let the screen work again or wait about 7 seconds and I can't end the call by the red button. this problem happens also on alarming but not freezing; It turns black then work then black then work ..etc, so i have to be focus till it appear to stop the alarm or snooze it .
