my phone is up to date but still get update available icon in status bar top of screen.When I go to Updates available in notifications, the phone checks and then says your phone is already fully up-to-date. How do I get rid of notification icon? Its annoying.
View 5 RepliesI downloaded 4 updates and my phone rebooted itself. Now it doesn't start properly. It turns on, but stays in this bright white screen with Nokia-text on it. When the N8 is switched off and I put the charger in, it goes on and freezes again in the white screen.

View 6 Replies View RelatedMy 4 day old N97 Mini stopped displaying new text message notifications on the screen and alerting me via a tone or vibration. Before posting I read this forum and other independent forums and did the following:
Checked firmware for phone - was up to date
Checked message tone was active in profiles - was active
Deleted all messages in inbox/drafts/sent - fixed issue had 41 messages total in these 3 folders.
I can't understand this error, I had an iPhone 3G before coming back to Nokia (N97 mini OS served a better purpose) I could store literally 100's of texts and never had a problem, If I can't have more than 40 texts in my folders without the alert turning itself off..Then the phone is useless.
- The SMS icon, in the top bar, is constantly blinking. I read on nokia help that it meant my inbox was full. Or it's not. It's almost empty (10 SMS). How can i turn off that ?
- A second problem is the SMS notification, that appears as a wild sequence of TV commercials would do during your favorite tv show : very annoying, whatever the circumstances. The popup forbids me to do anything quietly and peacefully, i'm interrupted and have to click on it in order to make it disappear. (I don't care if Mr X is harassing me while i'm browsing the web)
Is there anyway, just to disable the notification counter on the appstore, or clear it with some or other hack.
I do not want to update the apps there, but when i cancell the updates in Itunes, it does not remove them from my device?Please see screenshot (Appstore is within that folder on categories)
My htc one m7 keeps asking me to update my software. This is the 4th time in 2 weeks I have updated it. Now its asking me to update again yet when i check for update it says there's none available. How do I stop from getting the notification to update?

I guess it happened since I installed BestBlacklist free applications from ovi site. Then I uninstalled that application and even restored factory settings, but notifications didn't come back. At the same time notification lights and logs working OK. How can I make those home screen notifications back?

View 1 Replies View RelatedSince the Market App was updated to ver. 3.1.5 on my htc Desire, that when I get a new message in the notification area that there are updates for any of my20 Apps and clicking on updates it goes straight into My apps but no updates are showing only installed apps so don't know what apps need to be updated, or if already updated it does not say what app was updated.On clicking on all my apps there is no ticks in any of the Automatic Update boxes! Before the update to ver. 3.1.5 you could see what apps needed to be updated and why and had a choice if you wanted it updated or not

View 8 Replies View RelatedI currently have a 5800 and am happy with it, but it is also a bit buggy - slow, hangs/freezes, sometimes restarts etc. I have the option of buying a new N97 for $200 and I'm really tempted to buy it and sell the 5800 (I originally wanted the N97 but couldn't afford it). I like the QWERTY and its homescreen but I keep hearing the ram is too small for its capabilities and that it's been very buggy. Can anyone tell me if it has improved with the updates and if I should get it, or just stick to the 5800?

I downloaded about 30 apps, a lot of Nokia and also other populars such as Skype, Facebook, Twitter and so on.I haven't received any app update since I bought my phone and downloaded all those apps. I think it's strange because on my 800, I still receive regular app updates (about two-three times a week I think)So, I think it's abnormal that I don't receive any updates on the 920. Could this have something to do with the wifi issue on the current Win8 release?

it has been widely reported that the routing algorithm has some flaws in choosing the best route. there are many examples in this forum.so i expect that it will be impoved in the future.these improvements will be only for devices running 3.03 and later or will be they be backported also to 3.01?this is quite important because a bad routing algorithm is very bad for a navigation application even if it is "cheap".
I've downloaded the latest firmware and a map for E71 through Ovi Suite. They're pretty big, so I want to back them up before the next Windows reinstall. Is that possible?
View 4 Replies View Relatedusing Nokia C7 and Belle and tried to update maps. First error message said 'if you update you will lose all the other maps data'. OK, I need the latest maps. Using wi-fi I updated just my countries latest maps, so far so good. Then updated Europe OK. That was last night. Today, tried to update all the other maps and Nokia suite says they are already on the phone.The C7 hangs on 'Map Loader' for 10 mins and then quits, tried restarting the C7 and computer - no change. Nokia suite say all maps are on the phone, no idea how they got there or what version they are though.

This poses a problem as I won't get any new updates for apps that don't show under the store. Apps like Network+ won't show updates.

I watched my Nokia Lumia 920 update three apps tonight. Two of the updates used the phone's cell network. One update used wifi. Is there a setting on that I can set to make the phone only use wifi to download updates?

Some days after I started using the phone I got a notification that there is an update to the access point application. Afterwards it worked. But now I had to reset it because I wasn't able to send and receive SMS anymore. So I again have no data connection, but this time the Store is not offering me the update and I can't search for it or install it via the PC.Microsoft wasn't able to help, neither was my operator nor Nokia. Does anybody have an idea what to do? I'm thinking about either changing the operator (to one that has settings on the SIM card) or give away the phone. Punishing the operator for this doesn't sound right to me though.
