I just bought a Nokia phone and downloaded the PC Suite.I wanted to put some music in my phone so I tried downloading OVI but it always stops while 'checking for updates'. It says that there's a problem with the internet connection on my computer. I've never had this kind of trouble before.

It is a paid application so, when I get a message, maximum download attempts reached, it is very upsetting. I have logged feedback request via the built in feature in the application store and you can see clearly Nokia does not care what response they send a person.Upon further research, I find some other applications have this issue too. I'm trying to support nearly 100 Blackberries (mostly the Tour), and any wireless update breaks the phones with various results: anywhere from just deleting the email sync settings (all carriers) all the way to the phone unable to make/receive calls (just T-Mobile for the lack of calling, Verizon or AT&T seem unaffected thus far). We do *not* use a BES server, however, if that's what is needed, I'm certainly willing to go there. If and when an update is needed (by our standards), I will perform them. I really don't want anything coming from Blackberry, ever. I instruct users to hide the update icon, however, they always say it eventually comes back and keeps prompting to install the update. To rid themselves of the annoyance, they do the update, break the phone, then have the greater annoyance of waiting until I can get the phone fixed.
View 6 Replies View Relatedi thought maybe it was because of no 3/4G coverage, but just moments ago, after removing/reinstalling the SIM card, I just got 4G back and still can't check for updates. I hope my replacement phone doesn't suffer from this glitch. this is getting very aggravating! I've been without data coverage since Weds morning, other than for a few moments, here and there and only after a SIM card pull.

While attempting to download updates after entering my user name and password I get this message. "Your BlackBerry ID will blocked for 0 minutes for security reasons. You will not be able to login or request your password until that time has expired." The time never expires which leaves me not being able to download anything. I have tried changing my password which doesn't solve the problem.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm having problems connecting OVI to a Nokia N8-00 handset via Bluetooth. The Add New Device wizard is able to detect the phone but when selecting it from the list and proceeding it stays on "Checking the Bluetooth capabilities of your device." for some 20 seconds after which it eventually fails with the error of "Failed to connect to your device. Problems occurred while authorizing the Bluetooth connection between your device and computer."
I've verified that both devices are configured as authorized by their respective counterpart. Also tried to remove the pairing from both the laptop and phone and re-pair them again - same problem. I am able to sync the phone with OVI via USB no problem. I am also able to use my OVI with another Nokia phone (E72) via Bluetooth without any issues. This points me to a possible problem with Bluetooth on the N8 phone itself but I don't have any way to prove it.

View 3 Replies View RelatedA day or two after the upgrade to firmware v40 I noticed that the phone doesn't disconnect from my WiFi connection after checking email. Previously WiFi would disconnect after it was done checking email.This happens for more than one WiFi destination (home & work), and I have verified that the connection's advanced settings do show that power saving mode is ON.
I've verified that there are no apps running in the b/g that requires connection, and if I manually disconnect the WiFi connection, then it stays disconnected until the next time the email check runs, at which point it does not disconnect automatically.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSince the Market App was updated to ver. 3.1.5 on my htc Desire, that when I get a new message in the notification area that there are updates for any of my20 Apps and clicking on updates it goes straight into My apps but no updates are showing only installed apps so don't know what apps need to be updated, or if already updated it does not say what app was updated.On clicking on all my apps there is no ticks in any of the Automatic Update boxes! Before the update to ver. 3.1.5 you could see what apps needed to be updated and why and had a choice if you wanted it updated or not

Hi guys, I am an ICT Tech having a problem with my bosses new Nokia E72 and syncing it with Microsoft Outlook calendar.
I have installed the Nokia PC Suite and followed all the instructions, helps topics, etc but still when i try to sync with the Outlook calendar i get the following error message:
"PC Sync has encountered a problem and has terminated the synchronisation.
Please check your synchronisation settings and ensure your phone is in the idle state, then restart the synchronisation."
The settings and phone are in the correct state as far as I can see. I am using Windows XP Pro and connecting the phone via USB.
As a last resort I tried uninstalling/Reinstalling Microsoft Outlook and the Nokia PC Suite, with the same outcome. The E72 replaces a Palm which worked great with Outlook; I have uninstalled all the software for the Palm (just noted in case this helps with the replies)
Has anyone found this problem before and does anyone have a solution for this?
Sometime the phone just stops responding to any command. The present application i working but I am not able to terminate it, or switch between applications. The whole phone get irresponsive and slow.

It has been sitting on the table since then and now it is dead. Like there is no power. Nothing will make it turn on or show any life at all.
VERY Frustrating!! Aside from some alarm querks it has been a decent phone until it dies for no reason that we can see.
in the past few days my Lumia 800 has stopped recognising my Orange Sim card. This happens at reandom points through the day and i have to switch it on and off several times to get it to register that the sim is there. As it happens randomly there is no garuntee that the phone is working as a phone and making it pointless to actually use it as a phone. Also since the latest update there has been no improvement in my battery life whatsoever

View 25 Replies View Relatedi have a problem when trying to charge my N900. It happens since day one and after upgrade to new one. It also happens after a reflash to older version and with no software installed. It happens when using the wall charger and using the USB cable connected to my laptop.
I plug my N900 and it starts charging, after a while it will stop. Sometimes it happens a few minutes after i plug it, sometimes it will happen after more time. When i unplug and replug it will start charging again and repeat the same process again: it will eventually say not charging. It happens when the phone is turned on and off. I have left my N900 plugged for hours and the light that indicates is charging just stops. Even when left 24 hours battery-eye applicaiton shows that the maximum it will get is around 40%
Do you think is a battery issue and is a matter of changing it or should i get a new device?
i got my n900 the day before i went on a 6 week holiday and initially everything seemed fine, i quite liked using it whilst away. Then after a couple of days i noticed it was rebooting unexpectedly. after a couple of weeks of these silly reboots it just stoped rebooting and it just gets stuck with the white dots. i've read lots of threads that say do this and that but none of the replies seem to be speciic to my issue. I've charged the battery for a couple of hours and tried the boot up with U key depressed but nothing seems to allow it to boot. i am a total linux noob and thought this device might be a useful as an introduction to the OS but i am very dispoainted so far. If i flash the device will i loose all the data that is currently stored on the device, all my recent holiday snaps and videos? i just want to get a working device and not loose all the good memories currently stored on it.
View 4 Replies View RelatedFor ten days I've been trying to get the maps for Europe on my 4 GB SD card. With the larger country files the DL stops between 40% and 99,3 % (Yes indeed)
There obviously is no resume function on the Nokia Server nor inside the Maps Downloader (like FTP servers do have) thus I have to start all over again. It took a lot of patience and even more luck as well. For some countries I had to retry 17 times and for about 1 GB of country files my DU-meter indicates a 5 GB DL traffic. By now I have almost all European countries except:
England 89,5 MB (Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are OK)
Finland (of all countries!) 91,5 MB
Poland 71,2 MB
It makes no difference whether I start downloading maps from the PC-Suite or directly under Windows XP (SP3). Two weeks ago I had the same problem with another 6303 which I returned to the webshop. The original 1 GB SD card on both models has the same download problem.
Some voice files DL's were OK. The LD-4W did find my 'Current location' and I could save. Adresses of friends in Holland and in Spain were found easily.

I had NP with the SW update from v.9.10 (out of the box) to v.10.10, but v.9.10 had the same problem.

i recently updated to v 21 but after that i have a problem with video playing. after i play any video it stops after a couple of minutes but the audio continues.i have been using ovi convertor for some time.and i have no issue with it. i m also exepriencing this problem now with the videos which i converted before updating the firmware.
