Nokia Nseries :: 5800 XM Not Vibrating?
Apr 28, 2012I bought a used 5800, and yes, it is a old, 2,5 year old phone with latest software, works good. Only problem is that the vibration doesnt work. No matter is it on or off on profiles, it doesnt vibrate. And it doesnt vibrate even when i turn phone on, like my old 5230 did always vibrate when it boots up, my 5800 doesnt. What is wrong, why vibration doesnt work when someone calls or sends message, or not even vibrating in boot up, boots normally, no vibration.. Is the vibration function broken?
And my model is 5800d-1, is other models always too 5800d-1, or is my different and if yes, what is difference to other 5800's? This is a 2,5 year old Black and Red 5800. Using 52.0.007 firmware.

Apr 15, 2011Yesterday i charged my phone using laptop as battery was fully dried out. after that i am getting this error.Phone start-up failed. contact the retailer.I charge my phone fully later on with charger. also tried restarting so many times, tried different sim card, removed sim card, removed memory card...but no luck.

Jun 11, 2010and cured it? I downloaded the Nokia mail (for S60), set up 2 accounts with no problem and can use the mail with no difficulties. However, every time I start my phone, the question "Allow application to use network to send or receive data?" comes up. If I reply "No" then everything continues as normal. If I say "yes" the email setup wizard starts for setting up a new account. Does anyone know how to stop this startup behaviour?

Dec 23, 2011ive had the Nokia n8 for a year and ive hated every single day of that year...... the nokia n8 is THE most problametic phone ive ever had.... and will be my last ever nokia phone. no matter what i do i get the nokia startup failed contact retailer. yes ive restarted my phone at least 100 times ...... yes i literally restarted my phone 100 times no exagaration.... my phone will start up like usual ..... then after a while it will give me the nokia n8 startup failed contact retailer is there any way to get this fixed without having to reset the whole phone to factory settings??.... ive been able to bypass the startup failed contact retailer by quickly quickly clicking on the small button on the left that then gives me the menu with all my applications but realisticly i shouldn't have to go through all the work to get my phone up...

Jul 1, 2012I left my phone to charge one night before going to bed (pulled out the charger when it finished). The next morning the phone had shut down by itself and when I tried turning it on I got white lines accross the screen. That happened for a few more times (sometimes blue or green or red lines), and after I removed and put the battery back in the following has been happening since then : Starting the phoneWhite screen with Nokia logo shows upMessage "Phone start-up failed. Contact the retailer". Phone hangs. If I press the shut down button, lines appear and fade out before phone shuts down.
I tried the hard reset method, but either I am doing it wrong, or it just doesn't apply here. I tried connecting it to my PC, but it is not recognised (probably because a message to select PC Suite doesn't show up). The phone is a few months outside warranty, so it is not financially wise (or viable) to send it for repairs. I am an advanced user and I'm willing to try any flashing utilities guides to restore it to working condition. Could it be the battery needing a switch? I tried removing the memory card & SIM, but the problem persists.
Nokia Nseries :: N8 : Randow "system Error" At Startup After Belle?
Mar 4, 2012Since the Belle upgrade for some reason and very randomly I start receiving a "system error" at startup. Phone freezes and have to be restarted. It happens 1:100 but it happens.
Moreover, at startup a pop up appears with the new sms messages, but it starts looping and the only way to turn it off is to press the menu button and change view.

Feb 3, 2010Okay, I know what you're thinking...USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION! But I have and I have tried all the solutions I could find on google and here. I've tried turning it on with just the bat, bat/mem, bat/sim, etc charged my phone and what not and still nothing. It just won't turn on.I even tried hard resetting it but nothing works. When I press and hold the power button it just vibrates once and doesn't do anything. When I hook it up to the pc, it recognizes that there's a nokia phone there...I think...but it only does when you click and hold power and i vibrates.

But then when I start to reinstall the apps I've lost. I've only installed ViewRanger (1.7Mb), and the memory has already dropped to 28Mb. I daren't install anything else. Jan 30, 2012After recent upgrade to v 60.0.003, my Nokia 5800 XpressMusic does not seem to be working properly with my car bluetooth kit. It connects to the car kit alright, and the incoming call's ringtone is heard on the car kit and the call can also be accepted by pressing the green button on the car kit but the call voice (both mike and speaker) remains with the phone and does not come over the car stereo. If I look at the phone screen during the call, there is an option to activate the speaker but none to transfer the call to bluetooth device. I have tried fiddling with options in Accessories - > Car kit, as well as the bluetooth options, to no avail. Tried re-pairing but that didn;t help either.

Mar 26, 2010I often use wireless, but sometimes it has poor signal and is impossible to use so I also use simple mobile internet. Usually the phone using opera mini asks if you want to use mobile internet (not wireless) but now it almost never does, so I get the connection error message as there is no wireless, but I also cannot use my mobile internet. Just today it gave me problems because of that. So bassicly, I cannot use internet, unless I have good wireless signal. And I have mobile internet as priority number 1 in my settings. So is there something else to do? This problem is appearing and dissapearing. Thought could be from bad wireless, it kinda locks itself on it or something, but turning off the phone doesn't help.

Dec 29, 2012I've had this phone for years and have got some important info on this phone and i really need it back working.So 2 days ago i dropped my phone from a tall building by accident and the screen is no longer working. When i dropped it the battery came out and nothing else. I put the battery back in and the screen worked for a little bit but there was horizontal lines going across the screen so i turned it off and turned it back on and now the screen shows nothing. The green, white and red lights work at the bottom and the sound works when i turn it on. Even when i tap the screen i can feel the phone vibrate a little as if to say ive selected my contacts for something but the screen is completely blank.
