for two days a have a serious problem with my N5800 XM because of its touchscreen.Suddenly the screen was not responding anymore to commands because it looked like somewhere on the screen where the dial # is, the touch was making contact continuosly without pressing it. So I can't dial anything because I get only 9 or # , I can't access the Agenda or the Menu.
View 1 Repliesmy phone fell down and the touchscreen is broken. I figured out, that the contacts are not saved on my sim-card nor on the sd-card, but internally. I want to sync it with nokia suite, but I need to activate the connection with the phone first, as I suppose. Is there another way to, maybe bypass the connection-selection-screen on the phone or automatically setting up a connection?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI won a Nokia 5800 a few months ago from a Pepsi Competition and the phone has been working grand. Earlier on this morning at some point my screen began to malfunction appearing if it has been cracked. The phone was placed in my pocket and during some point after class and walking to halls this happened. The only other thing in my pocket was £1.50 in change (£1.00 and £0.50) and a plastic card key. I have absolutly no Idea how this has happened. I didn't fall, get mugged, get hit by anything, I just walked back to halls. Has this happened to anyone else and will my warranty cover it?Also will I be able to get all the data from it onto my computer?

Very annoying. I often have to try and record the same message many many times before it finally works. Â Is the screen really so sensitive and unstable?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI got the latest software (v50) for my phone and have had a few annoyances. Firstly my text when writing a text sometimes randomly starts deleting itself as though the delete has got a mind of its own and has locked or something, meaning I helplessly watch my text get deleted. Secondly, when browsing, occasionally if I bring up the back and option buttons (coming out of full screen mode) they just wont appear and I cannot do anything unless I close and reload the page. Thirdly when touching an icon, it may not realise for a while and I have to keep pressing it other times I accidently press something once and it opens it. The new features are great, but the problems are annoying and is it possible the sensitivity can still be increased as its almost perfect in terms of touch sensivity from a finger. I end up using my nail to help it along sometimes.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI updated the 5800xm to the new firmware v40.0.005. Everything seems to work, except for a small irritation. There are some entries in my calendar and reminders are set.When a reminder is due, a window pops-up with audible alarm for the calendar entry.
To dismiss the reminder, I have to unlock the touchscreen and select from the 2 options (don't remember the exact names).But, after unlocking, the buttons don't respond.. The touch/tapping seems to be registered, but the alarm still persists.The only button that seems to be active is the Red one, which puts the alarm in 'snooze'.. and the alarm repeats every 5 minutes.
After the alarm is 'snoozed', the keyguard again goes to 'locked' state. Further unlocking and working on the phone works ok, except on the calendar reminder option..
I have a Nokia 5800 XM (RM-428 v31.2.101.263.04) and would like to enable auto-unlock touchscreen during incoming call. It is quite annoying to have to use touchscreen unlock slider on the side and then press "Answer" to answer any incoming call.

This is a problem that started a few weeks ago and it's only getting worse and worse.Sometimes the touchscreen just doesn't work at all, nothing happens when I try to press it. This happens both with the screen down as well as the screen up. Sometimes it helps to just flip the screen down, lock, unlock and flip it up again, sometimes I have to do this procedure many times. Sometimes it just doesn't help no matter what I do and the only solution is to restart the phone..Today I got a phone call and I couldn't answer.. it just wasn't possible to get the touchscreen active so I could. I don't know what others think but for me it's kinda vital that I can answer my phone when it rings, it's a phone. Not until AFTER the caller hung up I was able to get the screen working again.

View 13 Replies View RelatedI bought a used 5800, and yes, it is a old, 2,5 year old phone with latest software, works good. Only problem is that the vibration doesnt work. No matter is it on or off on profiles, it doesnt vibrate. And it doesnt vibrate even when i turn phone on, like my old 5230 did always vibrate when it boots up, my 5800 doesnt. What is wrong, why vibration doesnt work when someone calls or sends message, or not even vibrating in boot up, boots normally, no vibration.. Is the vibration function broken?
And my model is 5800d-1, is other models always too 5800d-1, or is my different and if yes, what is difference to other 5800's? This is a 2,5 year old Black and Red 5800. Using 52.0.007 firmware.

View 2 Replies View RelatedOkay, I know what you're thinking...USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION! But I have and I have tried all the solutions I could find on google and here. I've tried turning it on with just the bat, bat/mem, bat/sim, etc charged my phone and what not and still nothing. It just won't turn on.I even tried hard resetting it but nothing works. When I press and hold the power button it just vibrates once and doesn't do anything. When I hook it up to the pc, it recognizes that there's a nokia phone there...I think...but it only does when you click and hold power and i vibrates.

But then when I start to reinstall the apps I've lost. I've only installed ViewRanger (1.7Mb), and the memory has already dropped to 28Mb. I daren't install anything else. Is there any way to stop this problem recurring?
View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter recent upgrade to v 60.0.003, my Nokia 5800 XpressMusic does not seem to be working properly with my car bluetooth kit. It connects to the car kit alright, and the incoming call's ringtone is heard on the car kit and the call can also be accepted by pressing the green button on the car kit but the call voice (both mike and speaker) remains with the phone and does not come over the car stereo. If I look at the phone screen during the call, there is an option to activate the speaker but none to transfer the call to bluetooth device. I have tried fiddling with options in Accessories - > Car kit, as well as the bluetooth options, to no avail. Tried re-pairing but that didn;t help either.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI often use wireless, but sometimes it has poor signal and is impossible to use so I also use simple mobile internet. Usually the phone using opera mini asks if you want to use mobile internet (not wireless) but now it almost never does, so I get the connection error message as there is no wireless, but I also cannot use my mobile internet. Just today it gave me problems because of that. So bassicly, I cannot use internet, unless I have good wireless signal. And I have mobile internet as priority number 1 in my settings. So is there something else to do? This problem is appearing and dissapearing. Thought could be from bad wireless, it kinda locks itself on it or something, but turning off the phone doesn't help.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've had this phone for years and have got some important info on this phone and i really need it back working.So 2 days ago i dropped my phone from a tall building by accident and the screen is no longer working. When i dropped it the battery came out and nothing else. I put the battery back in and the screen worked for a little bit but there was horizontal lines going across the screen so i turned it off and turned it back on and now the screen shows nothing. The green, white and red lights work at the bottom and the sound works when i turn it on. Even when i tap the screen i can feel the phone vibrate a little as if to say ive selected my contacts for something but the screen is completely blank.

When i try to capture a photo i noticed that gps is not available notification. But when i close my camera option my phone show that gps is available. I also check the settings.
