Jul 6, 2010I have my 3 yrs old nokia 6600.it got a strange problem ,it just get turned off on its own .whenever you can think while charging .idle or in my pocket.and after starting it asks for date and time,sometimes it didn't starts but it starts when i tap the phone on my palm .i also noticed that it also get turned off when tapped in on position.Now it doesn't starts at all,screen lights up momentarily only when charger plugged in and switched on.then it gets off.i have tried other batteries,sim also,reset it but no use.

Jul 19, 2010Problems with my nokia again :-(
A couple of days ago the Nokia Map 3.0 program just failed to start.
Earlier the same day it worked fine. But suddenly just the startscreen loads and disappears. I've tried to reinstall the map program. I've tried to reset the phone to the original factory settings, but the problem persists.
In this process I have lost most of my settings for voip, email, and more, so now it is less work to buy a new, non-nokia phone, than to get this **bleep** set up again. Both the N85 and N82 have been very unstable and with poor support from nokia.
Of course this happened at the most inconvenient moment, for Nokia, since I'm about to buy new phones for my family. I hope I can get a good answer from Nokia, on how I can get the map and phone working again.

Dec 4, 2012I've had the Lumia 920 for about a week and a half now without any problems, and after the complimentary wireless charger came in, I used it. But now some of my phone's basic apps will not start. When I tap them, it shifts to a black screen (time still visible at the top right), and after a couple of seconds of nothing happening, the phone brings itself back to the start screen. Apps that still work are one's I've downloaded myself from the store and Music+Videos, but just to name a couple, apps like Messaging, Camera, Calculator, Calendar, Contacts, Settings, Mail, Internet Explorer, all give me the problem I've described.
I've tried turning the phone off and on several times, including a soft reset, but no luck.
I have not tried a hard reset yet as I was hoping there might be a solution without having to resort to that.

Jun 19, 2011I have had this phone since December 2009. There have been no problems of this occuring until today; my phone just turned off suddenly and will not turn on again. I would press and hold the power button as if to turn it on, it would vibrate and the center light would light up as it always does, but it just stays stuck on a white screen and will not go any further than that.

May 7, 2010I created a route with a starting point somewhere else as my current location. When I drive tot the starting point and press "start navigation" and pass the starting point, maps tells me to turn around. What am I doing wrong? It seems like I kind of stopover? Aug 12, 2010On my laptop screen (1280x800) OVI suite always starts up the same size which is too big for the screen even though I resized it the last time before exiting.Width wise it is OK filling almost the whole screen but the hight is too big with most of the icon of my connected 5230 phone at the botton being under the task bar. And since the sync button is lower than that I have to manually resize every time.Why does it not remember the resizes window and always start up the size and place I want like most other software.

Jan 29, 2010A colleague who owns the N97 mini has just installed maps, and after rebooting his phone, it won't start it displays the white 'NOKIA' screen for approx 1 minute before switching off (it's fully charged). No key presses etc help, we can't get past the nokia screen.
He then asked me to reboot my N97 (not mini) and sure enough have the same issue, however after several attempts at switching on, I've managed to get mine to start, by seemingly pressing random buttons. I've tried this a few times now, and by repeatedly pressing right on the D pad, enter, and the camera button, my phone starts OK.
I only received my phone back from repair yesterday, and it was freshly flashed with the latest '3' firmware (my colleagues N97 mini is a virgin branded phone), and OVI maps was a suggested update yesterday nothing else has been installed on my phone since that.
Nokia :: E51 Way To Establish Connection To Internet Without Starting Application?
Jan 15, 2010I have a quick question concerning the internet connection of the Nokia E51. Is there any convenient way to simply establish a connection to the internet (either WiFi or 3G) without starting an application? I know there's an icon labelled "Internet" but it's actually the browser, not a simple means to connect to the Internet.
If this isn't supported by the E51 directly, maybe there's software that can get it done?
Nokia :: E72 - Avoid Programs From Starting At BOOT Like MSCONFIG?
May 7, 2010I have a e72, and I'm trying to avoid some programs from loading in boot stage, since I see that when booting the system has 53MB or RAM, but then it's decreasing to 40MB because some programs are opening.
For most of programs, even if I disable "AutoStart" it would still load and close, which is taking RAM!!!I'm trying a way to edit manually the "startup list" as I would do in Windows by entering msconfig...
I've tried to clear the folders C:Private101f875a and C:Private100059C9 which contains both a kind of a startup list, but programs are still starting up!! And I have no idea where is that STARTING LIST?
Nokia :: N97 System Error Message When Starting Maps
Apr 28, 2010I do get a system error message when starting the maps app. I know that this is not a new topic but I did not find after intensive search a solution.
-Firmware is updated
-soft reset done
-it seems that the app is not installed
-have deleted the cities folder and the qf file
Unfortunately no change maps app does not start. Not sure that this is important but I want to mention this for the sake of completeness.
-the maps did work once
-when I started them the next day and I was at a different location it still showed the location of the
previous evening abnd did not recognize where the phone was
-after some time I could not start the the maps app.
Nokia :: 6600 Slide Not Starting Up Fully And Then Turning
Jan 24, 2010My 6600 slide starts up but complains that "Phone memory almost full. Delete items?" but before I can select any to delete, the backlight turns off and won't come back on or turn off fully. Only way to continue is remove battery to reboot. But then the same thing happens. There are way too many messages stored, I know, but just can't delete any. Is there a way to access with the computer and do the deletes?

Jul 30, 2010Yesterday I updated the software on my phone and downloaded the OVI Chat with the Here and Now software etc. The download and installation of the software went smoothly. I even turned off and turned back on the phone to ensure that all went well AFTER the installation was complete.
Today, however, my phone isn't working. This afternoon the phone displayed a white screen for 2 seconds -- I wasn't doing anything on the phone. When the screen came back I noticed that the phone wasn't locking anymore so I restarted the phone. It's not coming back on.
So far, I've tried the following:
1. removed the battery from the phone and put it back in
2. removed the memory card and tried to restart the phone
3. tried connecting the phone to the computer to see if the computer could read it
4. tried the hard reset (3 + * + call button + power button)
