Nokia Lumia :: 920 Starting Making A Disconnect Sound?
Dec 1, 2012This didn't happen at first, but lately when I take my phone off the charger, it makes a disconnect sound. I don't mind, I just want to be sure my phone is okay.

View 12 RepliesSometimes when the camera starts focusing to make a picture, it makes a really high pitched sound. It continues when the camera has focused until the picture is made. The sound certainly doesn't come from the speakers and isn't triggered by the phone itself but purely by the camera on the back, so it has to be something hardware related.
It isn't that big of a problem, the camera certainly isn't malfunctioning, but I was with a friend today who asked me what that sound was and I'm wondering as well, since it isn't supposed to produce sounds like that.
Few days ago, I was driving, and I connected headphones to answer the call, but did not heard any sound. The problem was not in hardware of the headphones, because, the music and video player with connected headphones works fine, and I also can hear sounds wile typing on the phone, but when answer, headphones go mute, and mic is working fine. Before that, it was working fine.

View 8 Replies View Related1. I can't disconnect calls. I generally happens when I'm on back to back calls. The phone becomes unresponsive for about 10~15 seconds before you could do anything with it.
2. When I'm listening to music and someone calls me, I hear a sharp noise when phone call overlaps music. Once I disconnect the call, the volume in the headsets remains fixed, you can't reduce or increase the volume. The solution here is to remove the headset from phone and plug them back in. If that doesn't work then re-start the phone!
I've had the Lumia 920 for about a week and a half now without any problems, and after the complimentary wireless charger came in, I used it. But now some of my phone's basic apps will not start. When I tap them, it shifts to a black screen (time still visible at the top right), and after a couple of seconds of nothing happening, the phone brings itself back to the start screen. Apps that still work are one's I've downloaded myself from the store and Music+Videos, but just to name a couple, apps like Messaging, Camera, Calculator, Calendar, Contacts, Settings, Mail, Internet Explorer, all give me the problem I've described.
I've tried turning the phone off and on several times, including a soft reset, but no luck.
I have not tried a hard reset yet as I was hoping there might be a solution without having to resort to that.
When I'm trying to make a phone call (from contacts or hand dialed number) the screen goes black and it is not responsive any more until the other party hang up (plus 30seconds). I tried reboot phone, factory default, no screen protector; changing sim card in the phone gave the same problem. As soon as I hit the dial button screen is black.

View 6 Replies View RelatedMy BB curve has recently started making a very loud static sound every 5 minutes (when not in use). I have removed all podcast apps and followed other advice on various posts and it has not made a difference. I think I have the most recent OS (6) not sure when it updated and perhaps that is the problem. Also this is not an audible thing meaning adjusting the volume and putting the phone on mute makes no difference. My carrier is Verizon. Really sounds like someone is trying to connect via old school sprint direct connect, every five minutes.

I'm pretty sure I didn't do it but all of a sudden upon receipt of a new e-mail, I get a audible alert and I can't find anywhere to turn it off. I did discover that the iphone seems a little more user friendly when it comes to path of some of their settings though.

iPhone 4S, iOS 7.1.1 with AT&T: When I place an outgoing call, there is no ringing tone on my end. I can hear the person when they answer, and they can hear me. This is happening with all numbers, not just specific ones (both cell and land lines). I've tried switching to speaker phone, which makes no difference. I've checked my bluetooth setting, and am not connected to another source. I'm not in airplane mode, or Do Not Disturb. My operating system is up to date.

The funny thing is that when I paired it to my Jabra Clipper Bluetooth headset, I could make calls without any problems. However, no sound will come out from the headset when I play any media. he problem persisted even after I did a forced reboot.
