Nokia :: N97 What's The Reason To Under-clock Processor
Aug 10, 2010
anyone who's used the 97 would agree with me on this- the 97 could have been better if it had a little more processing power. out of curiosity, what's Nokia's reason to under-clock the processor? to save on battery and produce less heat? is it technically feasible for nokia to come up with a firmware update that makes the 97's processor run at its native clock speed? can it be overclocked? Whats the native clock speed of the 97's processor? And could it be possible to add /swap (virtual memory) support on the 97 like maemo? It would be great if we could make use of a part of that 32GB as RAM.
We want Nokia to overclock the N97 "the flagship" we want it to be faster and of course better performance .new theme effects. and multi home screen that's it no more, R u with me? you can show appreciation to my posts if it helped or useful by pressing the green star Kudo below my avatar in the left in the post that hepled u if my answer was the solution , so press this is the solution button Started From Nokia 3310 , Now with Nokia N97 v.22.0.110
I have nokia c5 mobile & it was written on nokia that this phone have processor of 600 MHz , but when i instaled more than one software ( symbian s60 ) as " cpu monitor - xplore " it found that the cpu speed is 192 MHz not 600 MHz i just wanted to know if this is a software error or else.does any one know a trusted software or a trusted way to know the cpu speed ?
I have just bought a brand-new E5 and i love it. but i noticed something. when i put the standby mode to "Basic" the clock is nowhere to be found. how is this? is there a way (without changing the standby mode screen) to place the clock on the main screen?
I updated my N8 software to the latest available upgrade last week (30Jun12). Ever since, the phone has been ringing once, at all different times, for no reason. It isn't a call or message, and leaves no clue as to why it ran.At night I have to set it to SILENT profile, so it won't wake me up through out the night. Then forget to put it back to GENERAL profile, the next morning and miss all my calls / messages.
Few hours ago nothing was wrong with my phone. All of a sudden everything on my memory card was Deleted. I didn't know wat exactly happened so I tried to restart the phone, but bothing happened. I tried to remove the battery and put it back again , and still the same and now I have nothing on my phone.
what is the reason for fast discharge of battery in Lumia 710? I cannot get my mobile battery for more than 5hrs even though i optimized all the settings. I'm a student so i only use my mobile for checking messages and few calls not more than 10-15mins a day. on below average use of mobile i cannot get the battery for not more than 5hrs. my mobile SW is upto date and its version is 1600.3031.8773.12121. And the major problem is i cannot share my files via bluetooth.
I use either Sony clock or digital clock on lock screen. However, it will get changed to analog clock for no reason. Few times already. Changed it back to digital/Sony clock, but it goes back to analog clock after awhile (days). Any way to make the Sony/digital clock to stick?
Ever since I upgraded to OS 7.1 on my Verizon Bold 9930, I often get the message "Device Media Processor Busy" when I use the media player, Pandora or watch a You Tube video. I've looked on several forums and found that this is a common problem. The only fix is to remove the battery to reset the phone. But after several uses of various Media Apps the problem comes back. Is there something I can doing to eliminate this issue, or is there going to be a new OS upgrade that fixes this problem. I'm currently running 7.1.0 Bundle 457.
For some unknown reason the right button was changed from 'Back' to 'Done. I find myself making up alarms I didn't intend to do. Also, the right-side buttons are usually 'Back' or 'Cancel' and this is very confusing. These are tiny things that should've been caught by the Nokia employees but either they're not doing their job or think nobody would care. The tiniest things can either make or BREAK.
My clock/weather widget is still showing up on my home screen, but I can no longer click on it to get to the clock app with the world clock and the alarms. I can't find the clock app on the phone at all anymore. How do I get it back? I go get a new clock app from the app store, but I really like the HTC sense clock.
What are the best java mobile softwares available out there for word processing (something equivalent to word, to read *.doc files) and to read PDF files? (I was unable to open any PDF using Zesium MobilePDF )
Ok, so I had a bold 9000 for a year, but I was sick of the battery life and battery pulls. Couple weeks ago, I sold it and got me an android. But the problem is 90% of my friends and family own a blackberry, so basically I still need BBM.Now, I'm thinking of buying a new javelin, cause I always loved the form factor so much. I had no idea how'd I ended up with the bold.I know that it won't get the OS 6, but that won't be a problem since I already got an android. So do you guys recommend it?My only concern is the battery life. My brother got an onyx and it has great battery life.How's the battery life compared to the bold 9700?Oh and I also heard the CPU is pretty slow that you can't chat/browse the internet while listening to music? Is that true?
I love the bedside mode of the Storm 2, especially with the dock I recently purchased. The only problem is, I like the room dark as possible and even with the phone in bedside mode when charging, and the setting check to dim the clock, it's still far to bright.
Is there a way of having clock on, but have the screen go off with the usual setting to black the screen after say 30 seconds or whatever I choose for the backlighting time out, then have the screen come on if I reach over and touch the screen to display the clock, then letting the backlighting go off again after the preset time?
This would make the setup perfect for me, allowing me to use the Storm 2 as a bedside clock without having to have the display on all the time, but being able to turn it on for a short period of time as needed. If this is possible, can somebody post the settings needed
