Xperia Z2 :: Phone App Draining Battery - Processor Does Not Go To Deep Sleep
Mar 16, 2015
My phone app is draining battery of my phone!tried a factory reset but still the same. It keeps the phone awake every time. Processor does not go to deep sleep.
I'm with a 5.0.2 D6603. The issue I have is that the following Kernel wakelocks does not allow the phone to deep sleep.
msm_serial_hs_dma BTLowPower
I've just performed a sw repair via pc companion, and several factory reset. I'm running the Z3 with no apps.
It happens both with an LG G Watch R (5.0.2) and a regular BT Plantronics (voice only) headset. Using the same BT devices with a Nexus 4, Nexus 10 and an LG G2 does not have the same effect. As soon as there is no usage the phone goes to sleep immediately.
If we take the second device, I do expect a Kernel wakelock while speaking or streaming music. The phone is active any way while performing this task. What is strange is that even if there is no activity the wakelocks avoid deep sleep.
What is strange is that if I move away from the headset (and the BT icon goes the "non connected" status), the wakelocks are always there. The effect is that my phone (both on 4.4.4 and 5.0.2) almost never ever sleeps, and sometimes get warm. It is evident that the battery life affected a lot. If I switch BT off, everything goes back to normal.
I did a further test, in the below sequence:
- BT ON + connected to a Plantronics headset => wakelock + device always on - BT ON + disconnected to a Plantronics headset => wakelock + device always on - BT OFF + disconnected to a Plantronics headset => no wakelock + device sleep - BT ON + disconnected to a Plantronics headset => wakelock + device always on
I am new, both to android and my S6 Edge. It is on 5.0.2, rooted, and do not tell me to RESET TO FACTORY. I can't really do it because I don't want to, there is a lot of great apps and the internet in my country is very bad.
Idk if it is due to the root itself. The closest I got was "cocktailbar service", and my S6 Flip cover (they don't have Edge cover so I improvised).
I check every night for wifi, location services and running activities. However, no matter what I do, I fail. It won't go to sleep. When I wake up, it is really warm and it is at 50-60%. I think it is something you guys call wakelock. This is really frustrating; one reason why I like Apple and their iOS.
I tried various methods. I have some screenshots you can take a look at. You see that it won't go to sleep, not for a second and the CPU is really hot.
I charge the blackberrry battery up to 50%, then I unplug the charger then I turn it off. When I sleep, the battery drains so fast, I don't know what's happening, then my battery completely low, so I can't turn on the device.
I'm in trouble with deep sleep. I'm on a G920i (VIVO-BRAZIL) and i can't get into deep sleep. I'm using Xtrestolite with UNIBASE Kernel, rooted with CF Root and flashed SuperSU, and my cellphone never get into deep sleep. I've already tried to use DeepSleep(zip) fix patch by chainfire, typed the code into ADB/Shell, used stock, custom recovery...anything and nothing! Still stuck in 400mhz..
Looking at BetterBattery Stats (Kernel Wakelock), on top i have GPSD, second GPS, third Ili_pm_wlock, fourth, 13930000.decon.fb, fifth PoewerManagerService.Display, sixth PowerManagerService.WakeLocks, seventh ssp_wake_lock. My guess about this wakelocks is, I have to desable all fuctions to get into deep sleep? Like GPS, WIFI, Bluetooth, etc?
gmail and other email clients notifications do not work after the phone has been unused for a while, I'm wondering if this at all is related to a deep sleep problem? Quite frustrating, have tried different email clients, some work and some don't, I'm at a loss here coming from the blackberry world where email is push and always works.
My phone seems to be dropping the WiFi signal overnight. I noticed this because right after waking it up in the morning, the emails are getting synced. There is also a high wakelock time for "net_scheduler", which I suspect has something to do with it.
I just grabbed a SGS6 on 5.0.2 stock Samsung rom which i rooted with PingPong root method to avoid tripping my knox.
Everything works flawlessly but the phone seems to be unable to enter in deep sleep mode. I have already cleaned my cache from stock recovery without success.
I notice that my motoactv just eats battery when im not using it. My workaround is to power it off so i dont have to constantly have it charging and so its ready when i need it. Is there a setting coming or present that will allow the motoactv to enter deep sleep mode after x amount of inactivity and then to only be awakened by button presses?
I have a bluesleep wakelock stuck on 100%. It won't allow any deep sleep, always awake. It will stop only when I turn off Bluetooth all together. Bluetooth and wifi scanning are both off. I have a watch, even turning it off won't work. Also froze Android wear apps. No change.... Maybe something to do with missing kernel binaries?
Here are some better battery stats. Thurs is obviously after a fresh reboot, makes no difference really.
I installed CM12 on my Nexus 5 two month ago and it works fine. But I have the problem that it doesn't react when I press the powerbutton to wake it up from deepsleep mode. Then I could only reboot it.
I changed the "network type" in the settings to "3G" because my provider only supports it and I thought it could solve my problem. But it also hangs up the phone anymore.... I adapted the settings of the phone in the following way:
- Installed "Apex Launcher" as the default one - Installed Klear Kat CM12 as Theme - Additional Apps are: Greenify and SD Maid
I just tried the following steps to fix the problem:
1 . Installed another Launcher instead of "Apex Launcher" ---> I had the problem anymore with the other Launcher
2. Installed Open Gapps "nano" instead of "micro" ---> it ran without any crashes of the phone for a period of time. But now I have the problem again....
3. I wiped "cache" and "dalvik cache" again in TWRP --> System was clean and ran for a while. But after a period of time the problam "came back"
When I'm at home in my Wifi I doesn't have any problems with the phone to wake it up from deepsleep. Lastly I installed CM13 and had done an Fullwipe before... But I've the problem anymore .... I've the feeling that the phone looses it's reception and then the Launcher hangs and can't get up of his own....
I've just ordered a 950 to replace my 925. I see a lot of complaints regarding the phones battery drain. One of the suggested fixes was to not restore a backup when setting up the phone and instead to have a clean start. So out of interest, who restored a backup when setting up there Lumia 950 and did you suffer a battery drain problem? Same goes for those who didn't restore from backup, did you suffer battery drain issues?
All of a sudden, the battery on my phone has been draining really quickly.I charged the phone last night. Took it off charge about 7.30am and by 9am it is on 80%.
I have done a factory reset, but this doesnt seem to help.Does anyone have any ideas what could have happened?
I have a blackberry 9300 3G curve with OS 6. Since past two days my battery is draining off very fast. I have changed the battery but the problem still exists. Even if i switch off the phone and switch it on again the battery is discharged.
I have only basic blackberry apps + facebook + whats app + google maps only. Rest i have uninstalled.
am I right in thinking the 1020 needs 2amp power supply to use the sat nav, just bought a power supply for my bike which Amazon seller says is 2 amp, tried it on the way home this evening and battery went from 70% to 50% after twenty minutes which I guess means it's not up to the job,are all lumias high drainage when using the sat nav
I have a galaxy s5 and it is rooted (was rooted when I got it). I notice that the battery was draining faster than usual, so I decided to buy a new battery. The problem is that the battery has the same behavior, you can't go 10 hours without having to recharge the phone and this is without heavy usage: pretty much just messaging, calls and email. I see that the porcess that is consuming the battery is the gpsd service but I have the gps disable.
I recently bought a GS6 and I love everything about the phone....except the battery! This is literally a deciding factor for me vs the iPhone 6.
I know it has a quad HD screen but my battery drains WHEN THE SCREEN IS OFF. My provider (T-Mobile) says one reason could be that I used all my data (T-Mobile just slows down your speeds). This can also mean it's constantly searching for a better signal. Sometimes I don't get reception indoors but usually my reception is good.
Now, I would understand if my battery was dropping IF I had the screen on, but it's not. It's dropping a percent every 2-3 minutes.
My data plan reloads in two days so I can see if it gets better but if not, I will be switching to an iPhone.
Battery is draining while charging, I did restarted the phone and it works the phone is charging, then after the first charged it came back again draining while charging?
After using my cell for 5 months mostly without any issues, I am seeing problems in battery. Since last 2 days the battery is draining out very fast ... like close to 1 day after fully charging. I am noticing this as an issue since earlier it used to take close to 2.5 days after fully charging. The usage pattern is same ... right now my cell is dead and i will provide battery usage data once i charge it .
I've been loging battery performance for a while, and I've noticed that there seems to be little variance between drain while in use and drain while sleeping.
Last night my battery dropped over 50% from 100% without any [major] on screen time. The phone was totally disconnected from any radio interfaces, and everything should have been sleeping.
I do have a white list to alow my smartwatch 3 to work while the phone's asleep, but these are things like Google services.
The battery stats for the period when the battery dropped shows;
Android system 10%, Android OS 7% Cell Standby 3% Screen 3% Phone Idle 2% Media server 1%.
I don't really code that much anymore, but if this where a system I was debugging I'd be suspicious that Android Systems and Android OS are using such a big chunk of power while the system should be asleep and waiting to be activated by the only remaining interface, the cellar connection!
I went to bed last night and my Xperia X10a was charging just fine via USB to PC. When I woke up this morning it was off and the status light was blinking red like it was dead. I couldn't get it to charge on my PC so I tried my boyfriends wall charger and when it booted up it was at 86% battery. I have had it on the charger since and it is not gaining battery life it is losing. I am now at 61%!
I am a new Blackberry user. I have only had my Tour for about a month. The Tour has been amazing and ran really well up till about 2 days ago. At that time it started to take at least 30 seconds to acknowledge I did anything. I would move the scroll ball and it would take 30 seconds to move. I would click on my text icon and it would take a minute to load my texts i would click on a new text and it would take 30 seconds to load it. I had to pull my battery out and put it back (6 - 8 min restart of the phone..) at minimum of 5 times throughout the day for it to even run. That is when I started noticing that it was also draining my battery like no other. I fully charged my batter yesterday afternoon/evening and unplugged it, when to bed (didn't use it except for maybe 10 outgoing and incoming texts) slept from 12am to 630am and my phone is DEAD! I didn't have ANY apps running, the phone was just on and not in use - whatsoever. Does anyone know why or know what to do? We all know how "helpful" tech support can be, so I'm trying to avoid calling them by coming here.
I am sure there are a lot of posts about this, but my question may be a little harder to find. I had issues with my phone and called warrenty so they sent me another one, I feel like the battery is draining a lot faster in this new phone, but its the same battery? Does that make sense? I didnt think it did...any suggestions
My iPhone gets hot after 15 or so minutes whilst on Skype phone conversation and normal phone conversation and it makes it impossible to talk for longer than that, this has happened for a long time now and my warranty has expired. Also my phone can barely last more than an hour if I use it to download and view my PDF files from my inbox using 3G and a quarter of my battery is drained just from listening to it for an hour.
I have tried taking the battery out to reset it and I also closed open apps I am not using but nothing seems to work.My phone has drained its battery 3 times already today and I only charge it when the battery is super low which is usually 1-2 days. I only use the phone for personal use and do not have a lot of apps on it.All this started last night out of the blue. It was fine all day yesterday. It is also constantly timing out. I will type a BBM to someone and every 3 words, I see the little clock ticking Lastly, I noticed while I was talking on it a few minutes ago, it got really hot which I haven't noticed before (I had it plugged in since it's not keeping a charge). Is this related to the recent issues or does this mean my phone is done? I have only had it a year and my husband who uses his way more than I do usually has his for 2 years.I think this info shows in my profile but if not, I am on AT&T, I have the 9800.
It has been draining away quite quickly for some time now and I don't know why. I have researched online and I know about 'thirsty' apps but the only ones I have installed are the only ones I have ever used and I never had an issue with battery drain before. Phine is approx 5 months old bought brand new.
Today, for example, I unplugged it from its charge about 5 minutes before I left home, never used it in that 5 minutes and when I looked at it, the battery was on 97%.
I have had my phone for a few months and it was working great until a couple of weeks ago when a sync symbol started to appear (i didnt dowload any new apps or do anything new, it just started) in the top bar on the right hand side. (not the left like the twitter or fb sync symbols) Now if the data traffic is on it will sync constantly and cause excess dowload and battery drain. When i turn the data traffic off after using the internet it continues to attempt to sync and drains the battery unless i don't use the internet for a couple of days. I want to be able to leave my internet on like i did for the last few months without worrying about the download problem. I called SE and they told me i might have to reset my phone. I have SOOO much stuff that i don't want to loose. Anyone know what this thing is trying to sync and how to stop it? The SE guy already told me to turn all the sync and background apps off but it didnt change anything.
