Jun 25, 2015am I right in thinking the 1020 needs 2amp power supply to use the sat nav,just bought a power supply for my bike which Amazon seller says is 2 amp,tried it on the way home this evening and battery went from 70% to 50% after twenty minutes which I guess means it's not up to the job,are all lumias high drainage when using the sat nav

Often times the drain rate is 25% per hour, when cell data 3G on GPS ON and moderate usage of internet explorer.
My phone runs WP8.1 CYAN DEV PREVIEW. All background tasks have been disabled already. What to do to improve battery.

Dec 28, 2015I've just ordered a 950 to replace my 925. I see a lot of complaints regarding the phones battery drain. One of the suggested fixes was to not restore a backup when setting up the phone and instead to have a clean start. So out of interest, who restored a backup when setting up there Lumia 950 and did you suffer a battery drain problem? Same goes for those who didn't restore from backup, did you suffer battery drain issues?

Nov 12, 2015It has been draining away quite quickly for some time now and I don't know why. I have researched online and I know about 'thirsty' apps but the only ones I have installed are the only ones I have ever used and I never had an issue with battery drain before. Phine is approx 5 months old bought brand new.
Today, for example, I unplugged it from its charge about 5 minutes before I left home, never used it in that 5 minutes and when I looked at it, the battery was on 97%.
Lumia 1020 :: Phone App Using All The Battery
Jul 27, 2014I have a Lumia 1020 on att and I felt the battery was draining faster than my Lumia 520. I have been using 1020 for maybe 3 weeks now. I updated it to WP 8.1 preview and reset it and and restored the backup of the 520. I do feel the battery is not upto par to even the Lumia 520. I have disabled most of the background tasks hoping it will last long. It drains 15-20% battery when I'm using it to read WP central or other apps and not even playing games. In the battery sense settings I saw the phone app on top using all the battery today and I have not even used to make a call. The phone app might be drawing battery even right now when I'm using the WP central app to post this. There is no background use but just fore ground use and the bar is like full.

Feb 13, 2014Here's what happened, I charged my phone before sleeping and it went to 98% then I unplugged it that was like at 12am. I went to sleep then as this time of writing I woke up and tried to unlock my phone but to my surprise it wouldn't turn on! I thought something happened until I plugged my charger and everything went fine. I don't have apps that could possibly drain my phone because I just hard reset it 2 days ago. I can't send it to Nokia Care because my unit is out of warranty.

I placed my 1020 with charger shell on my charging stand one night before bed and woke up the next morning with the exact same battery reading (maybe a little less even). So I re-positioned it on the charger stand and left it for a few more hours, same results. I then decided to plug the phone in to charge, came back a couple of hours later and the battery indicator still hadn't moved. I thought that this behavior was really strange so I rebooted the phone and lo-n-behold: a fully charged phone. For some reason the battery indicator was not updating properly.

Apr 26, 2015I have a Lumia 1020 for about 11 months now and today it stopped charging. If I try to turn on the phone, I can see the low battery indicator. Then the phone will proceed to turn off after a few seconds. I have tried a soft reset by holding down power and volume down at the same time. I can feel a small vibration after 6 seconds of doing this, but otherwise nothing happens. I have tried 2 different chargers, as well as connecting to the USB in the computer.

Dec 18, 2015Since day 1 on my Lumia 950 - unlocked, the screen brightness settings are not sticking. When I wake the phone from sleep (but not always) the screen is very bright. I have to manually switch through the screen brightness on the quick nav panel - 25% - 50% - 75% - 100% - 25% in order to get it to stick at 25%. Sometimes the auto brightness needs to be flipped off then on again for it to work. It is very inconsistent and I can't really figure out how to reproduce this.
In Battery Use, my Display uses 69.2% of the battery, even with my obsessive reset of the screen brightness. It was over 75% before I realized the gorgeous screen is partly gorgeous because it's almost retina scarring bright.
Nokia Lumia :: 920 Cyan - ATT - Overheats, Battery Draining?
Nov 12, 2012Got my Cyan 920 on Friday. Immediately had overheating issue while syncing email during first setup. Got super hot at the top,battery drained very quickly. I had turned on Nokia Drive Beta + for just a minute to check it out then didn't use it again. No more heat or battery issues until tonight when I plugged it into my computer to move some video files onto my computer through the file explorer. Phone got very hot at the top and actually started losing battery life even though it showed to be charging (plugged into my laptop). I did not have any apps running intensive processes or syncing/uploading going. I turned off background services for Nokia Drive Beta + (though I hadn't opened it since that initial opening to check it out) then I turned it off and back on and it stopped the overheating and it began to cool. But then I couldn't connect to phone or internet services even though it showed 4 bars of LTE. Turned it off and on again and everything seemed to be working fine, then it began heating up again. Just removed it from my laptop and it is now plugged into the wall charger that came in the phone box (USB). This is unacceptable for a new phone. I had been using a Black Nokia Lumia 900 for several months before upgrading and using Nokia Drive frequently.

Jan 8, 2015I have a galaxy s5 and it is rooted (was rooted when I got it). I notice that the battery was draining faster than usual, so I decided to buy a new battery. The problem is that the battery has the same behavior, you can't go 10 hours without having to recharge the phone and this is without heavy usage: pretty much just messaging, calls and email. I see that the porcess that is consuming the battery is the gpsd service but I have the gps disable.

May 15, 2015I recently bought a GS6 and I love everything about the phone....except the battery! This is literally a deciding factor for me vs the iPhone 6.
I know it has a quad HD screen but my battery drains WHEN THE SCREEN IS OFF. My provider (T-Mobile) says one reason could be that I used all my data (T-Mobile just slows down your speeds). This can also mean it's constantly searching for a better signal. Sometimes I don't get reception indoors but usually my reception is good.
Now, I would understand if my battery was dropping IF I had the screen on, but it's not. It's dropping a percent every 2-3 minutes.
My data plan reloads in two days so I can see if it gets better but if not, I will be switching to an iPhone.
Lumia 1020 :: Battery Down To 90% In Less Than An Hour
Feb 18, 2014I've gone through 5 Lumia 1020's in the past 3-4 weeks. All having the same problems with battery life. After taking my phone off the charger, I turn off Bluetooth and WiFi. I don't have glance on but I do however have all my background tasks running. I have two emails set to sync as arrive, Hotmail and outlook emails. I took my phone off the charger at 6:30 AM this morning, and when I looked at it an hour later, 7:30AM, I had 90% battery left. I have 3-5 bars of LTE and 1-4 bars of 4G everywhere I go. I do a soft reset 3-4 times a week since this is a common occurrence. I just took my Gmail email off my phone, so I'm testing to see if that was the problem. I normally get 9-11 hours of battery life, but I need to get 14-16.
How to possibly improve my battery without limiting the phone to what it's suppose to be? What I mean is, WP is based around live tiles, if I stop all the tasks, then it's just a close version of iPhone with limited apps. I don't want that. I don't like iPhone or android.

Mar 25, 2010I am a new Blackberry user. I have only had my Tour for about a month. The Tour has been amazing and ran really well up till about 2 days ago. At that time it started to take at least 30 seconds to acknowledge I did anything. I would move the scroll ball and it would take 30 seconds to move. I would click on my text icon and it would take a minute to load my texts i would click on a new text and it would take 30 seconds to load it. I had to pull my battery out and put it back (6 - 8 min restart of the phone..) at minimum of 5 times throughout the day for it to even run.That is when I started noticing that it was also draining my battery like no other. I fully charged my batter yesterday afternoon/evening and unplugged it, when to bed (didn't use it except for maybe 10 outgoing and incoming texts) slept from 12am to 630am and my phone is DEAD! I didn't have ANY apps running, the phone was just on and not in use - whatsoever.
Does anyone know why or know what to do? We all know how "helpful" tech support can be, so I'm trying to avoid calling them by coming here.

Is this related to the recent issues or does this mean my phone is done? Lumia 1020 :: Black And Battery Drain
Dec 21, 2013Ever since the Lumia Black update, I have noticed significant amount of battery drain while not doing anything.This morning I woke up after 8 hours of sleep and removed my 1020 from charging plate, the phone was warm. That means it was charging the whole 8 hours.
I removed the phone and restarted it, turned off glance screen (location off) and did not use it until 3PM (3 hours after being removed from charging plate) and the battery gauge is already below 50%.

Nov 16, 2014I'm using DP and I have the latest update which was days ago, I'm also on cyan. Before the update, the battery performed well (or at least as expected). Now, it drains too quickly when play a bit of minion rush or watch some youtube videos. The other day out just dropped to 5 percent in a couple of minutes. I did a hard reset but still, the battery ducks now. I'm thinking going back to cyan but I love the folders features, it saves me lots of space and get me organised.
