View 6 RepliesHow long can you shoot a video at fullHD/25fps, until the recording stops? And what happens when it stops? Does it keep on recording another mp4-file, or does it just stop?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo this morning my brand new 1020 is saying it's out of memory. I take a look, and it had been taking pictures (while sitting on the nightstand, plugged in and charging), all night long. Thousands of pictures. I've searched for this issue and am not coming up with anything.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I connect my 1020 to my PC, the computer acknowledges that the phone is connected but can sometimes take forever to start to sync the photos to the PC. I have tried combinations of F5 etc. as well as disconnecting the phone and reconnecting it. Nothing happens! Then for no reason, it will start to download the photos and show the message "Everything's Done" .
View 1 Replies View RelatedI own a L720 but am very tempted to make a switch to L1020 in future once its officially available here. A major query I have is,
-The screen is off and I hit the camera button, how long does it take to take a picture and save?
-The battery to power ratio, is it good? (Can the phone last 1 full day without any issues?)
When I am in long phone call conversation, my iPhone always hang and the application will reset and my call will be cut. Do I need to upgrade the version, if yes how can I upgrade this without affecting the existing information of my iPhone. How can I also check in my iPhone what version I am using. This is the reason why I need to try other phone like android, does it may sense, or this also apply to all and it' s based only on the software.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've gone through 5 Lumia 1020's in the past 3-4 weeks. All having the same problems with battery life. After taking my phone off the charger, I turn off Bluetooth and WiFi. I don't have glance on but I do however have all my background tasks running. I have two emails set to sync as arrive, Hotmail and outlook emails. I took my phone off the charger at 6:30 AM this morning, and when I looked at it an hour later, 7:30AM, I had 90% battery left. I have 3-5 bars of LTE and 1-4 bars of 4G everywhere I go. I do a soft reset 3-4 times a week since this is a common occurrence. I just took my Gmail email off my phone, so I'm testing to see if that was the problem. I normally get 9-11 hours of battery life, but I need to get 14-16.
How to possibly improve my battery without limiting the phone to what it's suppose to be? What I mean is, WP is based around live tiles, if I stop all the tasks, then it's just a close version of iPhone with limited apps. I don't want that. I don't like iPhone or android.
I have a Lumia 1020 on att and I felt the battery was draining faster than my Lumia 520. I have been using 1020 for maybe 3 weeks now. I updated it to WP 8.1 preview and reset it and and restored the backup of the 520. I do feel the battery is not upto par to even the Lumia 520. I have disabled most of the background tasks hoping it will last long. It drains 15-20% battery when I'm using it to read WP central or other apps and not even playing games. In the battery sense settings I saw the phone app on top using all the battery today and I have not even used to make a call. The phone app might be drawing battery even right now when I'm using the WP central app to post this. There is no background use but just fore ground use and the bar is like full.

View 12 Replies View RelatedEver since the Lumia Black update, I have noticed significant amount of battery drain while not doing anything. This morning I woke up after 8 hours of sleep and removed my 1020 from charging plate, the phone was warm. That means it was charging the whole 8 hours.
I removed the phone and restarted it, turned off glance screen (location off) and did not use it until 3PM (3 hours after being removed from charging plate) and the battery gauge is already below 50%.
Experiencing battery drain with the 1020? I downloaded a battery app and with light phone use it is telling me that my phone is discharging at 10% an hour! Is this normal for the 1020?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI'm using DP and I have the latest update which was days ago, I'm also on cyan. Before the update, the battery performed well (or at least as expected). Now, it drains too quickly when play a bit of minion rush or watch some youtube videos. The other day out just dropped to 5 percent in a couple of minutes. I did a hard reset but still, the battery ducks now. I'm thinking going back to cyan but I love the folders features, it saves me lots of space and get me organised. I don't have too many apps running in the background, just few essentials...

View 6 Replies View RelatedI just wanted to know, whats your battery drain on your lumia 1020 over night? My scenario is to charge it to 100% in the evening and then let it there without using ist for ~9-10hrs until the next day. Certainly with wifi/Bluetooth/mobile data off, glance off and all apps closed.
My 1020 looses around 8-9% Battery over night...
My lumia 1020 battery's draining so heavily ( 94% - 8 hrs remaining ) i tried doing the soft reset, disabled all the background apps, turned off the settings, at last even did a hard reset and installed all the apps again and after two days it still on to the same issue..
View 24 Replies View RelatedHere's what happened, I charged my phone before sleeping and it went to 98% then I unplugged it that was like at 12am. I went to sleep then as this time of writing I woke up and tried to unlock my phone but to my surprise it wouldn't turn on! I thought something happened until I plugged my charger and everything went fine. I don't have apps that could possibly drain my phone because I just hard reset it 2 days ago. I can't send it to Nokia Care because my unit is out of warranty.
View 13 Replies View RelatedUsing a Nokia 1020 with charger shell and noticing odd charging/battery indicator behavior? I placed my 1020 with charger shell on my charging stand one night before bed and woke up the next morning with the exact same battery reading (maybe a little less even). So I re-positioned it on the charger stand and left it for a few more hours, same results. I then decided to plug the phone in to charge, came back a couple of hours later and the battery indicator still hadn't moved. I thought that this behavior was really strange so I rebooted the phone and lo-n-behold: a fully charged phone. For some reason the battery indicator was not updating properly.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI purchased my 1020 yesterday ... My battery would go from 92% to 46% in 1 hr 30 mins with light usage, I have glance off, background tasks off, brightness is low, bluetooth off, nfc off. Should i return my phone?
View 8 Replies View RelatedSo yesterday I spent a couple hours taking some photographs and came home to do some design work and I left the 1020 charged in. Yet as the day went on, the phone never charged, it continued to go down, even plugged in. I tried plugging in the camera extension but even with that it eventually discharged to 4% then stuck there, plugged in. When I'd unplug, I would get the critical battery warning. I tried rebooting twice, and finally on the 2nd reboot, the battery level went to 100%.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have been experiencing some pretty bad battery life with my 1020. It was getting to the point that with moderate use it was in battery saver mode within 8 hours. I shut off many background tasks, turned off 2 of my 4 email addresses and did some testing. In standby mode the phone dropped from 69% to 55% in about a half hour after a restart. Exasperated I turned off Double Tap to Wake after noticing the 'drains battery' warning. I then charged the phone and went to sleep. Today, with similar usage as normal (about an hour of streaming music, 2 push email accounts, web browsing, texting, etc.) I made it 8 hours and only dropped 39%.
View 24 Replies View RelatedI have a Lumia 1020 for about 11 months now and today it stopped charging. If I try to turn on the phone, I can see the low battery indicator. Then the phone will proceed to turn off after a few seconds. I have tried a soft reset by holding down power and volume down at the same time. I can feel a small vibration after 6 seconds of doing this, but otherwise nothing happens. I have tried 2 different chargers, as well as connecting to the USB in the computer.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy Nokia PD-95G Lumia 1020 Camera Battery Case, bought in late 2013, does not charge anymore. LED flashes slowly when connected but does not fill up to indicate a full charge. And when connected to phone does not discharge battery into the phone.
View 2 Replies View RelatedBattery drops at the rate 12% per hour, when phone is connected to WIFI, GPS off, cell data off, and phone is on standby mode.
Often times the drain rate is 25% per hour, when cell data 3G on GPS ON and moderate usage of internet explorer.
My phone runs WP8.1 CYAN DEV PREVIEW. All background tasks have been disabled already. What to do to improve battery.
I've seen many people claim that enabling 'double tap to wake' will drain your battery faster. On the settings page where you enable this setting, Nokia even says "this reduces battery life". I tried to measure it myself. After doing a number of normal discharge cycles with the feature enabled, I did one with it disabled. I didn't change any other settings. I used the phone normally in both runs - very similar usage.
I found that disabling this setting produced no significant change in battery life. In both runs that I compared, my battery level was at about 20% after about 3 days. See the attached graphs for my results. The first graph is with the setting on. After just a little under 3 days it was very close to 20%. The second graph is with the setting off. After exactly 3 days it was a little above 20%. These results are not exactly the same but I don't think they're significantly different. Not as different as I was expecting.
Is there any difference in battery life between the dark and light background on the 1020?
View 5 Replies View RelatedOkay, so I'm on the move a lot, travelling to and from University each day which can take anywhere between 1-2 hours getting there and getting back. I'm always on my phone during travelling as there isb't much else to do and I like to keep in touch with friends. I use Facebook and the internet a lot on their and I understand this is why my battery runs down so quick. Using it for I'd say 3 or so hours and the battery is done, I usually take my usb cable to uni so I can charge it ready for the journey home. Is there anyway I can get the same usage out of it and not drain the battery so much? I am thinking of getting a new battery first off as I'd say the current one would not be able to achieve good life againt, but is there long lasting batteries I can get?

View 1 Replies View RelatedIt's been over 14 Hours that my new Nokia Lumia 920 is hang. I could not understand the reason behind its malfunctioning as I was on a call and when I tried to hang up.It just choked and react nothing. When I wave my hand over the light sensor, phone lit up and shows me the same phone call screen with minutes and after few seconds it goes as if it is locked. I tried to take out the sim, tried turning it off..Used back switch 100 times but it did not reacted at all.If this is the way it is going to be...I would say Nokia is under water and struggling period will let them down to their certain end of corporation. I switched from iPhone and was very happy to purchase 920. Despite of other big issues I was holding back and was thinking to keep it as Microsoft will fix he bugs with new applications.
