I have had the Icon since the 20th. I have had to re-enter my account info for every account on the Phone (Live, Gmail, and Facebook) every day multiple times a day. It is draining my battery and data by constantly searching or trying to sync. I have done "soft" resets and a full blown reset to factory settings.
View 3 RepliesI have had my phone for a few months and it was working great until a couple of weeks ago when a sync symbol started to appear (i didnt dowload any new apps or do anything new, it just started) in the top bar on the right hand side. (not the left like the twitter or fb sync symbols) Now if the data traffic is on it will sync constantly and cause excess dowload and battery drain. When i turn the data traffic off after using the internet it continues to attempt to sync and drains the battery unless i don't use the internet for a couple of days. I want to be able to leave my internet on like i did for the last few months without worrying about the download problem. I called SE and they told me i might have to reset my phone. I have SOOO much stuff that i don't want to loose. Anyone know what this thing is trying to sync and how to stop it? The SE guy already told me to turn all the sync and background apps off but it didnt change anything.

I have tried everything to turn it off. Its draining my battery & is annoying! When I turn on my video camera, the light brightens. I'm so sick of this stupid light! Short of putting blk electrical tape over it I don't know what to do.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an Icon and I have recently updated to Win8.1 DP, I went a day or so shocked at how quickly the battery was dying and then remembered to check for running apps. OUCH! When the update was through most of the apps updated to an 8.1 version, all well and good, except that they all chose to run in the background.
I have since "blocked" most of them from running in the background, but I would like to be able to reset the Battery Saver app so I can trouble shoot which apps are still operating as a battery hog.
I've just ordered a 950 to replace my 925. I see a lot of complaints regarding the phones battery drain. One of the suggested fixes was to not restore a backup when setting up the phone and instead to have a clean start. So out of interest, who restored a backup when setting up there Lumia 950 and did you suffer a battery drain problem? Same goes for those who didn't restore from backup, did you suffer battery drain issues?
View 24 Replies View Relatedafter the over the air update for my Neo V (done on WiFi), I've been experiencing severe battery drains when Facebook Inside Xperia is turned on to sync photos, calendar and contacts (facebook_calendar_sync). The battery drains out in under 5hrs - I usually charge my phone in the eveings and take it off the plug just as I go to bed and the battery's drained and the phone shut off within 5hrs (5:30hrs max). This happens irrespective of how the data sync occurs - WiFi, 3G, 2G... I've noted that it's the calendar and contacts sync that drain rather than album sync.

I know the upload and download arrows flash every once in a while when changing areas around town but I have a lot of up and down data transfer and its draining my battery. I deleted all my apps and I am using just a plain precision zen theme and wiped my phone and started fresh but its still happening. It seems to stop a little when I turn of WiFi and GPS and it completely stops when I turn off all radio services. If I do this my battery will last all day but if I turn everything back on my battery will be dead in about 3 hours.
I'm running 5.0.0.592 on my T-MO 8900 .Is there a way to tell what's sending info so much? Is there an app out there that can tell me what's sending?
I have owned my Nokia since November 21st. The first night it froze two times. Then the following days it also froze while running the app Word with Friends. I have also experienced battery issues where it lays idle and drains. I have a few more days on my trial. I don't know should I return it or just wait for the Window's fix?

View 5 Replies View RelatedIt has been draining away quite quickly for some time now and I don't know why. I have researched online and I know about 'thirsty' apps but the only ones I have installed are the only ones I have ever used and I never had an issue with battery drain before. Phine is approx 5 months old bought brand new.
Today, for example, I unplugged it from its charge about 5 minutes before I left home, never used it in that 5 minutes and when I looked at it, the battery was on 97%.
Since day 1 on my Lumia 950 - unlocked, the screen brightness settings are not sticking. When I wake the phone from sleep (but not always) the screen is very bright. I have to manually switch through the screen brightness on the quick nav panel - 25% - 50% - 75% - 100% - 25% in order to get it to stick at 25%. Sometimes the auto brightness needs to be flipped off then on again for it to work. It is very inconsistent and I can't really figure out how to reproduce this.
In Battery Use, my Display uses 69.2% of the battery, even with my obsessive reset of the screen brightness. It was over 75% before I realized the gorgeous screen is partly gorgeous because it's almost retina scarring bright.
Got my Cyan 920 on Friday. Immediately had overheating issue while syncing email during first setup. Got super hot at the top,battery drained very quickly. I had turned on Nokia Drive Beta + for just a minute to check it out then didn't use it again. No more heat or battery issues until tonight when I plugged it into my computer to move some video files onto my computer through the file explorer. Phone got very hot at the top and actually started losing battery life even though it showed to be charging (plugged into my laptop). I did not have any apps running intensive processes or syncing/uploading going. I turned off background services for Nokia Drive Beta + (though I hadn't opened it since that initial opening to check it out) then I turned it off and back on and it stopped the overheating and it began to cool. But then I couldn't connect to phone or internet services even though it showed 4 bars of LTE. Turned it off and on again and everything seemed to be working fine, then it began heating up again. Just removed it from my laptop and it is now plugged into the wall charger that came in the phone box (USB). This is unacceptable for a new phone. I had been using a Black Nokia Lumia 900 for several months before upgrading and using Nokia Drive frequently.

I just updated my Lumia 1520 from WP 8.1 to Windows 10. My battery has been draining at a fast pace close to 10% for every 20 minutes. I have the latet windows build 10586 on my phone now. Is there any thing that could be done to solve tis issue. My battery back was just awesome under WP8.1.

I've done everything from restarting my device, to a hard reset, to a network settings reset, and even replaced my SIM card but I'm still plagued with the problem. All of my other apps are using negligible amounts of data.What is the "Restore data" app, and how do I tell it to stop using so much data?
One additional bit of info: 2/23 was also the date that the Microsoft Health app updated. I use a MS Band. It seems like there may have been some type of update pending on the band. When I called Verizon's tech support, they said that the pending update might have something to do with the massive data usage. We completed the update to the Band, and they said to give it another day to see if the data usage continues. What this "Restore data" app is, it doesn't sound like it has anything to do with the Band.
i have tried turning it off and back on, also tried resetting network settings but the bluetooth icon on my iphone is still grey and cant find any bluetooth device?

I did a hard reset on my 1520 and reinstalled Build 10149 after there was a problem, which I solved by doing the reset, but now charging it takes a year and a half to complete (5 hours remaining on 50%) and the charging icon keeps blinking?

My contacts are still there, I can find them by searching but don't have an icon on my home page (or anywhere else) to click on to add new contacts or find old ones. Can anyone advise what I've done? I've tried synching with my laptop but that hasn't brought the icon back, and I've powered off. I backed up to the cloud earlier but am a bit bothered about trying a full restore! Besides, the contacts icon was missing when I last backed up, so it probably wouldn't come back anyway!

New to the icon. Got it on Thursday. Promptly loaded 8.1 developer and ran all the updates. I'm not blown away, but it's nice, I'm not running back to my G2 yet. However I went up north yesterday and as soon as I lost 4g I lost all data. No MMS pics coming through and no weather, Internet.... Made crystal clear phone calls and texts went through, but no data. Played with the network settings but could never get it to go. Others with Verizon, at&t, and cellcom carriers had no issues. HTC, iPhones, motos, none had issues.
So is there an issue with 8.1 developer? Bad phone? Recommended settings for data all the time? I have data roaming options set to roam. Tried GSM and the CDMA settings under the sim card and no changes. Tried rebooting the phone between changes and no luck.
I wiped my icon today. I'm on 8.1 dev. I can't get fb to sync information with my contacts. I've tried both apps.

So far, I'm enjoying it a lot, aside from the fact I can't get my gmail contacts to sync. I've been googling and searching this forum for an answer and it appears I'm doing everything right, they just don't sync. I've deleted and re-added the account, with a restart in the middle.. nothing. I've changed the cardDAV server to m.google.com and Google and nothing. Any way besides a hard reset? It's pretty frustrating not having most of my contacts.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've got my company (exchange) email set to sync every 15 minutes. It only does so occasionally. Last night it didn't sync for 6 hours, this morning it was 51 minutes. It didn't always work when I had it set on "as items arrive" either. My Live and Gmail accounts seem to work just fine on the 15 minute setting.
View 10 Replies View RelatedSo today my Nokia Lumia Icon (Still on 8.0) had the "4 hour bug." This is where the phone gets quite hot and the battery lasts less than 4 hours on idle.
What was interesting to me, though, was after my battery died and I tried charging it, it'd get stuck in a loop.
1)Battery Icon with Red Line showing "Charging."
2)Vibrate
3)Nokia Logo
4)Repeat every 5-10 seconds.
Doing a Soft Reset fixed it (Volume Down + Power for 15 seconds) but I'm still wondering if there's been anything from Nokia or Microsoft about this issue other than "We are aware of it." It's been 10 months since this issue arrived on older devices, and it seems to be a Nokia-wide issue.
