For some unknown reason the right button was changed from 'Back' to 'Done. I find myself making up alarms I didn't intend to do. Also, the right-side buttons are usually 'Back' or 'Cancel' and this is very confusing.
These are tiny things that should've been caught by the Nokia employees but either they're not doing their job or think nobody would care. The tiniest things can either make or BREAK.
My home buttons on my LG G3 Vigor changed to a triangle, circle and square. How do I get them back to the standard button icons?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm from Canada, on the Bell 3G network, and have noticed the last few months that my data usage is spiking without reason (I never download anything on the 3G network aside from email messages and a little web surfing). I've had this phone for 2.5 years, always on the same 500MB plan, and have never used much more than 200MB in any given month. Now it's using that up in the first week.
In an effort to try and isolate the spiking, I downloaded the Data Man app, and noticed yesterday that I went from less than 1MB in downloaded usage to over 160MB in the course of the afternoon! I was at home, connected to WiFi, streaming radio off the new CBC app for a couple of hours over dinner. How does a streamed audio signal over WiFi use 160MB in a couple of hours? What am I missing here?

My samsung galaxy SII had been playing up, crashing etc for a couple of weeks, then for some unknown reason, it froze and died on me, never to be switched back on again. It has been well looked after so it hasn't been water damaged or dropped or anything of the sort. The battery was about 50% charged, I've also tried using somebody else's battery, tried connecting it to a PC, tried to start it whilst its connected to the charger and everything else I could think of but nothing. My main problem, is that I've been in touch with samsung and they asked to send the phone to them for repair, but told me that everything will be erased.
Now I know I am totally stupid for not backing up all of my media etc, but the information stored on the phone is worth more to me than what the phone is itself. Although the phone is totally dead and will not switch on, so how I can access my pictures/videos etc because surely it must be still stored on the phone somewhere. The phone itself is not as important to me as much as the media stored on it and I am willing to try anything to access my media files even if it means my phone isn't able to go for repair, I know I am going to receive comments for not backing up my media.
lately my nokia lumia 900 has been pushing the back button and home butting while i'm watching videos. its really frustrating when watching Internet videos and i already have to wait for them to buffer and if it decides to push the back button i have to wait again.

So basically all of a sudden my wifi wasn't working, it just switched to data/3G. I thought the wifi was down so I just continued using data but after a long time I went to check and saw that the wifi was switched off and greyed out. I tried everything! I turned it on and off, I put airplane/do not disturb on, then turned my phone off waited 5-10 minutes, turned it back on then switched the modes off. It allowed me to turn the wifi button on so I thought it worked but no internet connections came up.
I locked my phone went to the movie theater then I noticed I couldn't even click on the wifi button at settings it just froze, same with trying to open up my texts, I couldn't even turn my phone off. I tried resetting network settings too. I finally restored it just now then backed up and now the wifi is turned off and grey again but everything else is working. I don't want to do the freeze/heating method so what else can I do? Is my only resort going in person to the local apple store?

I recently got a Nokia 5800. In the call log of earlier generation (nonSymbian) Nokia phones one could select a recent number (dialed, received or missed) and scroll through all recent calls for that number. For dialed or received numbers it also showed the duration of each call. On the 5800 all I can see is the number and time of the latest call for each number.

Before i updated the phone software, i avoid it by using the contacts bar home screen theme; the contact button and dialer seem to work only in that layout, which i didn't mind. View 12 Replies View RelatedI noticed my phone going really slow, when I went into the c: folder on the included file manager of the phone it said I had only 3mb free space. After getting rid of bluetooth sis files in the messages folder and clearing the internet cahe I now have showing on drive c: free space of 23.2MB - good I suppose but I want to see if I can free up more space as the phone I believe does have around 80mb total (I know i should expect that system files of the phone will take up space but this much?) so anyway I suppose what I am is asking how I can free up more space as I cant see any more files I can delete on C: going through the inbuilt file manager and using windows file manager. I suppose I could use an app like y-browser or active file manager or whatever the app is called but its quite time consuming doing it through the phone, i would rather if anyone knows of an windows xp application where I can link up my Nokia 5800 by USB cable and run an XP app which will hunt out all files on C: including hidden/system and other files. i know I am going into dangerous terrotory of seeing system files and deleting them and bricking the phone but if I could see some hidden pictures and sound that I dont use and they are not tied to system files then I could delete them and get some more files back on C: - or has anyone know what else I could clear on the phone to give me back more than 23mb?

View 4 Replies View RelatedAbout a month ago, my new nokia 5800 which i recieved on a plan using virgin fell into water. I bought a new one from a website called topbuy.com.au, which came from Hong Kong, although claimed to be made at the same factory as all the other phones. When i received my new phone, i was suprised to see that everything seemed to be in order, and that it all looked fine.When i started the phone i noticed many problems with my layout. It all seemed very awkward, and the Add button for the quick contact function was large. I also had 2 buttons saying telehpone and contacts at the bottom of the screen instead of the 2 icons that were there on my older phone. I also do not have the full screen qwerty keyboard available, or atleast cannot find it, when i want to text. Another small thing i noticed was that when i scrolled through with the stylus, for example through the messageing menu, instead of stopping at the top or bottom it would keep scrolling untill i stopped.

Tried camera through apps does same thing and it does not show it open also. It will not play any videos just sound. I watch bbciplayer a lot on my phone and all I get is sound it just comes up and says unable to play video or sound but I can hear the sound. some of us want a phone that has clear conversations, others want seamless bluetooth integration, even others want powerful web browsing and in my case, i want nokia to restore the music player interface regarding the back button to be restored to the way it was pre-v20.
as far as i can gather from the short time i've been on howardforums, it seems like this is as good a place to express frustrations about such items as these, wouldn't you say?
now, i do appreciate the input of those who suggested that this may have to do with having the mp widget on the main screen. i tried it and it definitely still happens even if i remove the mp widget and go from the music player icon.
So now the sequence is:
1. start music player -> get to music menu
2. choose music library
3. select artists (as an example)
4. scroll to the chose artist - so if you have 50 artists and looking for rick astley you have to kinetic a few times up and down before finding him
5. now you have to choose an album -- out of the 15 you may have of him -- more scrolling
6. now you have to scroll through the songs
7. pick song #12 let's say
So far so good, you're rick rolling yourself away to Never Gonna Give You Up and get out to the main menu somehow so you can do other things.
Now you decide that that was awesome but you want to hear Together Forever on his same Greatest Hits album. You'd think that going to the Now Playing screen, you could somehow just back out and get to the last list of songs -- Like on any other mp3 player I know. I've never used an iPhone but I bet you that's what you get on an iPhone.
Nope, Nokia decided that what you want is to browse your entire catalog again. So you have a choice from the Now Playing screen: either you get the menu and choose Go To Music Library and start from step #3 above or you have to start from #1 just to get to the same fricking list you *are* already on.
N97 v12 did not do this, the N95 did not do this, the N82 did not do this, the N900 does not do this (actually the N900 has the song list on the now playing screen which is nice) so who the f*ck at Nokia decided this was a great "improvement" that they needed to put in and then needed to keep?
So I understand that to some of you guys this is not a big deal. Good on you. It does not mean that it's not a problem so please spare us the give me a breaks and the what's the big deal. Some of the issues you find incredibly important might not resonate with others. It certainly does not mean it's not important to you does it?
The back button gets less responsive the longer I play an audio file. A lot of times it goes to multitasking instead. Other than that the Back button works great.Lumia 900 here

View 7 Replies View RelatedI've recently had to reformat my memory card as the camera refused to work with the memory card inserted. I took off all pics, videos and music and saved them to the computer. However, when I've gone back to the Ovi store and into the "my stuff" tab, I cannot click the download button on many of the apps (mainly the ones that I actually use which makes it even more annoying). My husband has told me to go into "settings", then "application manager", then finally into "installed apps" and delete the files for the apps that I would like to reinstall (to reactivate the download button again). fantastic idea, but the file names don't give me any sort of clue as to what app they're for. I asked if it would be quicker and easier just to delete everything from the "installed apps" folder, at which point my husband nearly had a breakdown and told me not to do that as there were files in that folder that relate to firmware downloads and could cause more problems by deleting them.

In the beginning it was once or twice a day but this weekend it has been an all day event. The phone is fairly useless like this. It occurs with all applications as well as text and BB messenger.

I had my settings to where there would be no message preview but now there is a preview and I am unable to change them back when I select those options. On my iPhone 4 when I click into game center I dont think it is acting as it should? There are a few things wrong I think?
- In the friends tab it just says "No Friends" and has no button anywhere for me to add friends.
- There are only three tabs down the bottom 'Me', 'Friends' and 'Games' - shouldnt there be an extra one?
- Randomly sometimes when I enter game center then exit again a notification show on game center in my home screen and when I click on game center to find the notification it is no where to be found but the little red "1" still stays over game center in my home screen and I can't get rid of it?
