I JUST bought N900 and only problems i got with the Bluetooth ... i cant receive any media file from other devices or my pc laptop . it give FAIL TO CONNECT WITH REMOT DEVICE CAN RECEIVE AND SEND ONLY PICTURES .. I am not able to receive any file via Bluetooth if that file is not openable by Nokia. ie., if I receive a jpg or mp3 file, it receives fine, and when I open it from Messages, it tries to open it, and then I save it from the Message to the Gallery.But when I try to receive some other type of files which is not supported by the mobile, it receives the message, but it fails to open the bluetooth message and as a result, I am not able to save it to the Mass Memory. It says Un supported files.
Say for instance, I am trying to receive a docx (Microsoft Word) file, then I face this problem.Is there any way to save the file directly to any folder in memory without trying to open the received message?Had it been some protected files like .SIS or .SISX then I would agree, but It's bad if I am not able to receive general files.
I got a problem with the bluetooth. I can send files with it but I can't receive them. My phone can be seen by everyone when bluetooth are active, I accept the file that other people want to share and then a message such as "connection failed" or similar,appear on the phone of the other people. Someone told me that I should reset the phone, is it the right solution? Is a backup necessary before the reset? I need to transfer some job files.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have recently acquired a Shure SE 102 MPA earphone+microphone (used in the past successfully, with other cell phones), just to find out that it is not compatible with the N900. The specs are here:

But this is relevant as much as trying to find an answer to my question: what such devices (reputable names prefered - Shure, Bose, etc.) are actually compatible with Nokia N900? I would not give up my phone (yet), so I'll have to dump the Shure newly acquired device, but I still need something (lost my original N900 earphone, and - as far as it quality was concerned - I an not that thrilled about getting a new one like that form Nokia)
I wonder if I can receive pdf or doc files to bb 9000 bold through bluetooth from my laptop. I tried but it was not possible. I manage to send a file to the laptop but the opposite cannot be done.

I can send files from my Macbook to G4 fine.I cannot share files from my G4 to my Macbook = connection unsuccessful.

I go to Settings-->Wireless and Network-->Bluetooth. I switched on Bluetooth and device visibility. I accept the passcode and I am able to pair with other mobile phone.
But while the file is getting transferred from othe mobile phone, my Xperia mini pro suddenly stops transfer and says, "failed to receive file".

Bangalore 560064. The manager indicated that the Nokia has not depatched the transparent LCD protective film for the touch screen LCD and It will be available after 2 days. Now the manager is indicating that it will take months and it will be charged. I want to know whether all Nokia N900 comes with the transparent LCD protective film to protect the touch screen or do I have to purchase as an accessory.

When I introduced the card into the N900, all songs were automatically listed on the Media player but without the corresponding CD covers which were treated as images and stored on the Photo gallery.Now, how do I solve that ? View 10 Replies View RelatedI am having some problems with my phone which I think might be related to gstreamer.When I open the camera cover and the camera tries to launch I get the error message "Operation failed". Media player also does not work, I can see the media files but when I try playing them nothing happens.
I used gstreamer to capture images for an application that I created and it has always worked fine until recently, when I started noticing the problems with the camera and media player.Between the time everything was working and now, this is what I have done:
-installed OpenGL ES 2
-installed Qt
-copied a bunch of screenshots from the phone to my Mac (i think I just did it through bluetooth but I might have used the usb cable)
Here is what I have done to try to fix the problem:
-connect the phone via usb to a windows computer, rightclick the n900 icon and error check (as recommended on this forum)
-update the firmware using app manager
-reboot
-type dmesg in the terminal after opening the lens cover - that did not output any errors
Could this be related to anything other than the gstreamer? If it is the gstreamer, should I try reinstalling it?
I just received my N900 like a few hrs ago and I was testing the features but when I tried playing one of the songs on the phone a message popped up saying "unable to play media. Audio is in use by another application". I didn't have any other application opened at all I also tried to use the camera and the same message popped up, still no other application was opened.Another problem I noticed was when I receive a call even after pressing receive call the call still does not pick up...still rings on the other end but when I press end call it hangs up on the caller sending the call to voicemail. But making outgoing calls is no problem.I'm a nokia fan and loved all my past nokia phones last one was the N95 and still is working fine after 4yrs this is the first time I'm having such problems and am disappointed especially since the phone is new.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI've had the N900 since Feburary now and it started today.I use to have internet connection on all the time but today, it's not working.I've tried to get a connection but it message says "Internet Connection Failed, Try Again?"When I press Yes, it tries again but get the same message. I've didn't change any connection settings and I'm with T-Mobile if that helps.

I did try (twice) to e-mail Nokia care - each time I filled in all details only to get a Gateway timeout message when I tried to send it - and all details wiped out!
