Jan 19, 2010I'm trying to find the best way to view my large IMAP inbox on the N900. If I set it up as a new IMAP account the email app hangs for a good minute or two everytime I open it due to my inbox having ~10,000 messages. There are no settings to only get the last X days or to download just the headers or new messages.
So I've tried adding my IMAP account via Nokia messaging. This works o.k in that I can set it to view only the last X days but for some reason it keeps marking my emails as unread.
I open up this inbox in any other mail client & everything is read, I go via nokia messaging and they're unread. I manually open them all on my phone to mark them read but if I go back a couple of hours later they're all unread again.Any idea if they'll be an update to the default IMAP client to give it more options? or does anyone know what is going wrong with nokia messaging?

1) in some applications (such as photos,web...) suddenly quit app. with message internal error application "web or xxx" closed (i flashed my device with emms.
2)sometimes does not open conversation text --->> Internet link: video
3)when i shoot picture with my camera in gallery picture shows up many times(like 10-15 times)in thumbnail view,also in normal view,when i change picture to the next one its again same picture many times.

Jan 7, 2013I have copied 2 zipped folders on mass storage. Now when im trying to move it to PC or even when im trying to delete the 2 zipped folders, its giving me 'Access Denied' OR 'You dont have permission to delete the files'. I have few apps installed on my cell, which i might not get back, hence avoiding the formatting.

The manager indicated that the Nokia has not depatched the transparent LCD protective film for the touch screen LCD and It will be available after 2 days. Now the manager is indicating that it will take months and it will be charged. I want to know whether all Nokia N900 comes with the transparent LCD protective film to protect the touch screen or do I have to purchase as an accessory.

Mar 1, 2010So yesterday all of a suddent after working fine for a month my n900 connects to my wifi connection at home but doesnt open webpages or anything. It connects normally but nothing opens. the vodafone gprs works perfectly.I reflashed phone restored to factory settings formatted. Dont everything so any ideas as to what cuold be wrong?

Mar 16, 20101 - Not all n900 applications i find on the net are searchable or listed at all on the n900s built in application downloader. some files i download manually off the net are in gz and deb format. do i need to install the nokia pc software and transfer them to the phone in order to use them, as i cannot find any other way to do it? from using google there are an awful lot of users saying the nokia software does not work very well at the moment and to avoid using it until its fully adapted for the n900, as some features are supposedly unusable?
2 - is there an easy file unzip program for the n900, hopefully easily found within the n900s application downloader? i tried searching for 'zip' and 'unzip' but nothing crops up

On switching off/on, I was informed of the above error message.I tried rebooting the phone via the 'u' key (battery out) process and this did not solve the problem. Jan 12, 2010Just bought a device and found that I cannot connect to the home WiFi internet. It's terribly sad, because the main reason of buying this product was exactly i-net. When I connect it asks me to input "preliminary" (?) PSK code. Then it tells me that PSK key is wrong. I can connect using Nokia 5800, PSP, both laptops and my PocketLOOX 570, but N900 cannot. Even if I go to "set up coneections", and go step by step. It can see the wireless itself, no problem. when I set up identification, I choose WPA-PSK (is it correct?) and print in the key. Then same story happen. It cannot connect , and says "connection error", or something like that. That's it. What am I doing wrong there?

When I try syncing my Photos, I check on my device and click "All", and it says "You have no photos in this folder in device"...however I have indeed a large no. of images,but none of them are viewable. I am unable to view the images on my device (through OVI Suite)
Basically sspeaking, my photos on my device are not viewable on OVI Suite...and this is really frustrating coz the previous OVI suite 1.0 was real easy to sync and transfer all my latest photos to my PC...until one day it stopped working, and everything (Nokia Photos & Nokia Music) went dead...thats when I had to update to OVI Suite 2.0 & OVI Player

Jan 4, 2010I have been trying to connect my nokia n900 to my pc that runs windows 7. I am using usb cable that came with the phone. I get an error messege on the computer when using mass storage mode that says "failed to install device driver'. I downloaded PC suite and tried PC suite mode. I got an error message saying "your phone is in file transfer mode. quit file tranfer mode to proceed" how do I quit file transfer mode?
