Jul 19, 2010The E52 is an absolute failure... apart from being nice and easy to use and nice keypad, the rest is utter trash. I have had this phone fail several times, i only use it for sms, thats is, never connected to PC or downoad any **bleep**, patches etc for it, and time and time again, Nokia takes people 'smoney to 'reset' this ohoine and send it back. It costs money, and time, and a lot of frustrations also having to go without a phone in the first place. The start up codes do not work for me. I am told it is a software failure, such unreliable, it just shuts down oen time never tostart again, if it does you get the phone start up failed contact your retailer.

Jul 24, 2010Hi, I have a N97 (all firmware up to latest) and my OVI maps has never worked (logs in but as soon as you use it it just closes the app). Sometimes when I end a call it just switches itself off and on again. I even had a case where the battery went flat and I charged it for a while but had to take it off of charge but for some reason the bar still kept on moving up like it was charging. In all honesty I've only had problems with my phone and am kinda regretting not getting a Iphone instead. Please help as this phone will be flying out my car window on the highway if this keeps going on.

Feb 4, 2010When I hooked the phone up to PC via USB and started up nokia software updater the software couldnt find my phone. I put the phone in PC SUITE mode but still no go. I also did I hard rest, reinstalled PC SUITE. The only way phone "talks" to the PC is via bluetooth but the only wo updates software is via usb cable.Please help.

Jun 14, 2010I would like to put in some new maps (for another country) on my N95 8GB as I have done several times before, but it looks like I can't do it the way as I have done before. As I remember I previously did it by choosing maps in Nokia PC Suite which sent me to a map download program. Now it just sends me to a ovi-map website that says "Navigation on your Nokia is now free".But how do I load a new map into my existing map software on my N95 8GB?Is it possible in some way to get free navigation working on N95 8GB?

Feb 26, 2010I bought the N97 in October 09 (its now Feb 2010) and since then I've had multiple problems with this phone and each time something different! This phone has been nothing but problems and each time I take it in to be serviced I get it back almost a week later and within 24hrs it has already died again and generally wont even go past the nokia screen when rebooted or will freeze up and not turn on at all. I seem to be constantly having software and memory issues as well as having problems accessing the applications and the touch screen being temperamental even tho I have asked for these problems to be fixed on each occasion. This time I went back to the Nokia Care centre and spoke to the Manager and all he could tell me was that he's done what he had to do and that he is not obliged to do anymore and I can keep bringing it back when it fails as it is under warranty.
I am highly disappointed in this phone, it has given me nothing but problems and even more annoyed and disappointed in the staff at the Care Centre. I actually wonder if they actually do check the phone and fix it properly especially since it keeps dying and I havent even used it. I also have a list of about 42 people who have had multiple problems and issues with their N97 and continue to have problems despite getting it serviced. Is anyone else in the same boat? How I can get out of my contract or actually get my phone fixed without having to go thru this again or being patronised by the store manager again?

Jun 17, 2010My Nokia Ovi Player has ceased to function following an automated update of Windows 7. The update included 7 security tweaks, a malicious code remover tool and a security update specifically mentioning Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5. When I restore the computer to a point previous to the updates, the Ovi Player works fine. I can only presume that there is a conflict as a result. The messages I receive tell me; "There has been a problem starting Ovi Player. Running the Repair option for Ovi Player in the Add Remove Programs section of Windows Control Panel may resolve this problem." Followed by; "Nokia Ovi Player has stopped working. Windows is checking for a solution to the problem." Neither method fixes the issue. Any ideas? My phone is the Nokia 5800 and I have been successfully downloading music as part of the Comes With music package for 11 months.

Mar 12, 2010I have a Nokia N97 and carrier service through AT&T. I subscribe to a monthly packet data plan which I have been using with my N97 for several months without issue. Several days ago my phone was no longer able to connect to the internet using my packet data connection. I was only unable to use the data connection with certain applications. The data connection would not work with the Ovi Store shortcut, Nokia Maps, the Nokia Web application, or the AP News widget. However, I was able to receive emails on Nokia Messaging through my data connection, and I was able to run my Fring application on it as well. I performed a hard reset which did not fix the problem.
I tried to adjust my network mode under the connectivity setting from Dual Mode to GSM, but that also did not have any effect. I then tried to run the setting wizard through phone setup to have it define my operator settings for internet, ect. After the wizard updated my settings I am now able to access the internet through the Nokia web application using my data connection. But maps and the ovi store still cannot connect using this connection.I have tried changing the connection settings under the maps application, but this has made no difference. Any help or advice would be very appreciated.

Aug 2, 2011Our company has recently bought 220pcs of nokia 2710 (brand new). After using them for 3days (8 hour shifts) GPS started to fail - the GPS icon just disappears and GPS itself does not send any new data. Some of the phones recover after a full restart others don't.I have called Nokia support and according to them if the GPS icon is missing the phone is defect.We have already replaced 30 phones under warranty, but each day new ones are affected by this issue. I suspected there might be some energy saving feature (although most users have the car charger connected all the time) or other option which turns off the GPS, but again Nokia support says no. Does anybody know how to resolve this issue or are the phones just not built for 8hour GPS standby?

Apr 14, 2010Following some changes to my Outlook configuration, which included changing the mail profile in use, I am now unable to sync Outlook Notes to my Nokia phone.After running a sync operation, the Ovi GUI shows the sync sucessfully completing but the updates to the notes are not made. Checking the sync application log (PC Suite profile) on the phone (UK Voda E71) via Bluetooth, it does not show any attempt to sync with the phone; The log is not even updated.My hunch is that I need to correct the Outlook folder location that Ovi finds the notes in. Can anybody advise how I might do that?

If there is any N97 owners, who know the law better than average consumer, he or she should speak up now! Nokia has misled all the customers, who have bought this imperfect product, by saying that "N97 is the most advanced mobile device ever seen". For this I consider my self and every one else, to be justifiable for a considerable compensation, for example when buying my next phone (WHICH ACTUALLY WORKS!!!)
Nokia has promised, that the next firmware release WILL make this phone to operate, as it was originally planned to do. They said more or less the same thing about v. 2.0, so, unfortunately, I have almost completely lost my trust in Nokia. Pulling the N97 out of market is an enormous draw back for Nokia, but I think this is the only way it can redeem itself and show to every one, that Nokia stands for quality!
Nokia :: Xpress Music 5800 - Memory Failure
Feb 26, 2010My phone decided to break last night. Literally, one minute it worked and the next minute it didn't. I have lost all my photos and videos as well as all the songs I had stored on the memory card, which is leading me to believe that the problem is to do with the memory. The memory was nowhere near full capacity however.
When the phone broke, randomly (hadn't been dropped, wet or knocked!!) the phone froze, I had problems turning it on and off, it was very slow and unresponsive. It wouldn't recognise the keylock being used. At one stage it didn't recognise my Sim. Also when I looked to see what Applications are open, there is a 'contacts' symbol open but it is labeled as "PBK2serverApp" as opposed to "Contacts". When I select this, it just takes me to the home screen.....

Dec 9, 2012Having reliability problems with SMS/MMS on 920? I would say right now the failure rate on MMS is roughly 80% and SMS is around 20%. I'm also noticing some seriously delay in some incoming SMS's (up to 20 minutes). It's 2012 and it's Nokia we are talking about... How can they possibly release a phone that struggles with the most basic of mobile phone tasks? I get that Nokia didn't receive WP8 until a few weeks before the device was released, but, I feel like I'm using a phone built with alpha/beta code.

May 13, 2010I've been trying without success to install the new firmware update. I've tried re-installing using the Nokia Software Updater, but kept getting Device Recovery errors and the phone turned off and lost its connection. After reading other posts, I did a soft reset on my phone then re-installed the firmware without anymore However, now the phone WON'T TURN ON AT ALL! When I press and hold the Power On/Off button on the top, it makes a buzzing sound, but the screen stays dark and doesn't turn on. Before you ask, the phone battery was fully charged. My 58000 is totally unusuable. How do I get it to power on?

Jan 20, 2010I bought an E72 device and play with since 1 week. My first problem is with the GPS which never start. When I ask position or start Map, the device execute an 3G connection (after ask), and nothing more. On the screen, I just see a grey GPS sign, at the rigth of this sign, a blinking yellow bar (only the first) and that all. I tried: Position, navigation, counters. Each time the same message: No connecting.
Both GPS and A-GPS are choice. I have an 3G capacity. FirmWare level : 021.024 (it was installed; I don't made any update). I find an update but it seems that it the same version (cheching by enter the device code)
