Jan 17, 2012

Just finished reinstalling my 701 after a factory reset (*#7370#) and reinstall Belle FP1. Restored just data, contacts, messages. Didn't restore apps and config from backup. AND lost long time reinstalling all my apps, one by one. I was pretty happy about the result, when I tried to open OVI Music app... And it wouldn't start! Just shows a circle for less than one second and terminates before starting.
Lifetime Nokia fan but struggling to get my head around some N8 funnies:
I have some MP3s that I want to use as ringtones. However, I don't want them to show in my Music Library (if I'm listening on shuffle I don't want these sound clips to play in the middle of them). I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how this might be achieved? I've tried all different directories and transfer methods but can't work it out..
Maybe this was posted already but i couldn't find it so here goes.My phone was turned off for like 2 weeks, and then i charged it and tried to start it it vibrated(like usual),the nokia blue letter logo showed and then it just stopped, the keyboard lights didn't light on and it just kept showing the logo. After 2 minutes the logo dispeard and the screen was white and only white.
I am able to transfer media files (mp3) to the phone with my Ubuntu 12.04 with no problem at all. However, the phone does not recognize files when I go to Nokia Music application. Software says that all the Music "folders" (Albums, Genres etc.) are empty. I have tried putting the mp3 files in all possible folders ( music, documents etc) on phone, but no luck. I have also tried several different mp3 files.
I am facing an error on some files downloaded from ovi player as- "File format not recognized". I have ovi music unlimited subscription. Although i have tried reinstalling windows media player, Ovi player etc., but those certain files just redownload in few seconds and also they have Unknown Artists and unknown Albums with them. While i have no problems in playing other files , so i don't think this is a codec related issue.
I am wondering how to adjust the speed of playback of MP3 files. I like to listen to books and some readers are really slow. With Windows Media Player, I can set the playback to 1.4 and not go nuts waiting for them to sound out each word. How can I do this on my Nokia C6-00?
About the last week, my music player is working slow. Sometimes, the art cover and line (that show the song time) don't appear, play, back and next are there. Sometimes takes like 4 seconds to start playing the song... Also, when I am listening to music No phone turn so slow. I Have 369 songs, Nokia n8 with symbian anna, 25.8
I do have a few months old X6, which has worked quite fine so far. Now, surprisingly Music Player gives just "System Error" when trying to use it i.e. trying to play a song from the lists. I can play the songs direct from the X6 file manager, but not by the Music Player.
I've done all the normal stuff, e.g. installed firmware again, hard reset, etc. without any success. Seems to be that the library index, or related has been corrupted. Library updating does not work neither. Any ideas? Does anyone now where to find the library index (or related) file to be deleted? And furthermore to re-build the index again?
I have a new Xperia Z2, but now i am facing an issue in ringtone, that i can't set an saved mp3 tone in my phone(i can't change it), when i choose one of the new mp3, it shows to me "unknown file'. And the same issue for notifications...
