My totally new Nokia Lumia 920 camera hasn't worked since I got it, 29/11/2012. I bought the phone firstly because of the camera reviews. Now, I haven't taken a single picture/video with the shiny new lumia 920. Pressing the hardware camera button or tile just flips back to the current screen, no camera viewport, nada.

Since a week, the camera is not working anymore : the camera app launches (by starting it from the start screen or camera button), but except from the app's UI, the screen remains black. Same story when switching to video mode or after restarting the phone.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have had yellow Lumia 920 now for about 3 weeks and everything worked just fine. Yesterday evening (european time) I saw update reminders on the "shop" tile and there were 3 or 4 of them (Nokia drive+ and some others that I don't remember). I was doing something and didn't give a thought but just let the updates to be downloaded and installed and they went fine as far as I know. Today when I tried to take photos the camera suddenly dosen't work anymore.
No matter if I click the hardware button or the camera app tile, it just flip back to live tiles. Camera doesn't work on Bing search either and not on any apps that utilized the camera.I wonder if anyone else have this problem or what I should do next. I have restart the phone a few times but it didn't work. I haven't hard reset it because I have so many stuff in the phone, if there is a easy way to do it I rather not hard reset it.
Strange thing going on:the physical camera button doesn't seem to trigger the camera anymore.I cannot launch the camera app with it and it doesn't do anything when the camera app is running.It was working since I got it and it just stopped working today.I tried soft reset and hard reset to no avail.

Next is when you take picture. When u go to photo albums. You see a link below saying open in Nokia camera. How come pics have that link and others don't? I took some smartcam pics too look at later and can't open it up and do the action shots and other stuff.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought my 1020 and was working just fine, but after 20 days, the camera stopped working. This is what I did after it:
1) I tried a hard reset and it worked for a couple of hours
2) I tried a soft reset and it worked for 1 day
3) I noticed that when I changed the date to the past and turned it off, the camera strated working for some hours.
4) I don't have a warranty, because I bought in USA and here, in Brazil, they don't accept the warranty. Even so, I took it to the assistence. They updated the software and, after 1 day, it stopped working. AGAIN!!! They said to me that if it crashes again, probably it would be a hardware problem, but they don't know how to fix it, since 1020 is new in Brazil.
My 1020 photos are appalling at the moment. They are just unfocused. Took photos of my daughter seeing Santa yesterday, no time to fiddle with settings. Ended up with awful out of focus shots, friends Iphone pics were fab. So fed up, I nearly missed the pics altogether because of the loading screen.

View 5 Replies View RelatedLast night I charged my L1020 with the camera grip together as usual, but this morning I found my 1020 not booting(tried soft rest and it didn't respond, seems that the battery is 0%). Something odd is that when I plugged the wall charger in the camera grip, it didn't respond. When I pressed the battery button for 2 seconds, it flashed twice with 4 led on(the led flashes darker then usual, which is really odd).

Just noticed that my front facing cam isn't working when I toggle it in the menu, both on phone's cam and Nokia cam. The screen appears black momentarily, and then it revert to homescreen.
I am not sure if it was this way when on W8.0 'cos I didn't test it then.
i just bought my nokia e7 just 45 days only. when i on the camera , device completely freeze there is no more process, i have to press the switch off button for few sec to shut, device is working well, but only when i switch on the camera it;s becae freeze. even i have done soft format and also hard formate , even i updated my device through online for Symbian anna. and also i have tested my camera with additional third party camera applications but at the time also i got negative result. even i restored my camera setting. .
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I upgraded to DP 8.1, I developed a couple of problems that I had hoped Denim would resolve. For example, my camera button stopped working. Also, I lost the function to hold my finger on the screen to move the cursor around in text. So I can't edit messages very easily. I was hoping these were issues with the DP version and Denim would resolve the problems. But I loaded the upgrade this morning, and none of these issues are resolved. I still can't use the camera button. And I still get hold my finger on the screen to get a cursor.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just want to share my experience with you.I've been using an unlocked Lumia 800 for a week now and I actually like the phone, however these camera problems are just unacceptable.
The camera has SERIOUS white balance problems, and, for me the most important, the auto-focus is just ridiculous. It works bad, but focusing on "macro" objects is just a no go, even usin the touch focus or the "macro" focus mode. Another problem is the lens flare, which reflects how bad these optics might be. You really think that the Carl Zeiss branded optics anything here? Think again. My HTC Incredible S, with its "OEM" optics, (or the Iphone 4S or the SII) just humiliates this camera. Also, is that so hard to make a green square focus confirmarion?
How can they release a flagship device, with this price range, with these problems? No wonder why Nokia is where it is standing now, "almost" in a closing-doors status. They really need better engineers and programmers because everytime they let this happen with a device, they're tossing away their valuable customers. And they really deserve it.
And as I've been reading, the Lumia 900 is having the same problems... How sad is this?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am not talking about my experience of my phone. Right now, I have an issue of my Lumia 710's camera. It freezes when I shoot a picture in ISO 200 (Which I manually tune on the settings). After the hangs, I am able to exit the camera application but, pressing the shutter button won't open the camera anymore until I reboot my phone. And opening the camera from the application list (After the freezes) will only lead to the blank screen.I have already reset my phone thrice, reinstall my software and reset the camera, but the issue won't disappear.

took it out side in the daylight to shoot some pics and the screen went almost totally White!! everything very overexposed... Camera settings are set to default. Did a reset and a complete back to factory defaults reset, but same issue...?
new owner of the 920. Not yet proud of it though.How come there is no macro mode for the camera? The close-up "scenes" has trouble focusing things 6 inches away.

The thing is if I take a photo and then when going through the app to the last photo I took it shows me the first photo I took who is in my gallery.. For example, of I take a photo and want to see it right after I took it by pressing the button in the Nokia camera app it will show me the first pic I took that is in the gallery.. And if I will wait for a while and the try it will show me the last photo that I took, or if I will go directly to the gallery..
