Nokia Lumia :: Camera Always In Macro Mode
Apr 10, 2012The camera on the Lumia seems to always be on Macro. I have to change it to Normal manually. How can I get it to default to Normal?

Nov 11, 2012new owner of the 920. Not yet proud of it though.How come there is no macro mode for the camera? The close-up "scenes" has trouble focusing things 6 inches away.

Oct 31, 2015The main camera always goes into macro mode when selected. The selfie camera works fine. But for interim shots the main camera selects macro and the the flash comes on permanently. Phone will then only respond to On/Off button.

Camera failed to launch/open, then the screen becomes blurry when camera is on. Now, managed to switch on camera but it stays on macro mode all the time, and unable to focus. When capturing images, it hanged and i need to switch off and on back, then only the phone seems ok.. But until now, the cam still in problematic mode.

OIS works with Auto Focus
OIS works when we manually set focus to infinity
But OIS doesn't work when Focus is on Manual.
However In Video mode,
OIS works in all 3 cases, i.e. OIS works whether focus is Auto or to infinity or Focus is Manual.
Let us request Nokia to look into this matter and release an update to Nokia Camera app to fix this issue.

Jul 12, 2010I have just upgraded my Nokia N73 to the E72 and am very very disappointed with the picture quality of the camera.
It does not appear to be the same quality as the Carl Zeiss lens of my old N73 and many pictures seem to be out of focus. It has annoying habit of when i try to take a quick snap of continually asking me to chose a shooting mode and the therefore the moment has gone. I also use this camera function for my work and unless I can find advice on taking better quality pics then it will have to go back.Is mine a faulty unit or is there a knack of taking a picture without the camera moving which I think is causing part of the problems.

Jan 20, 2010I want to use the 'sequence' image capture mode of the camera to take images at a defined time interval. If I use the sequence mode the 5800 camera shoots a series of photos fast. I want to adjust this time interval. The Nokia 5800 user manual says that this is possible by selecting the desired time interval.

However I am not seeing any such option for adjusting the time interval in the settings! Has anyone used this functionality? How do I set the time interval between sequenced image captures?

Currently, my menu list is just a list--no letter headings, so you can't push on say, S, and zip down to the S apps. (Kind of how you find people on the Facebook app.)I am not articulating this well, but do you know if there is a way to jump to a particular letter in the 920? Jun 7, 2012I just want to share my experience with you.I've been using an unlocked Lumia 800 for a week now and I actually like the phone, however these camera problems are just unacceptable.
The camera has SERIOUS white balance problems, and, for me the most important, the auto-focus is just ridiculous. It works bad, but focusing on "macro" objects is just a no go, even usin the touch focus or the "macro" focus mode. Another problem is the lens flare, which reflects how bad these optics might be. You really think that the Carl Zeiss branded optics anything here? Think again. My HTC Incredible S, with its "OEM" optics, (or the Iphone 4S or the SII) just humiliates this camera. Also, is that so hard to make a green square focus confirmarion?
How can they release a flagship device, with this price range, with these problems? No wonder why Nokia is where it is standing now, "almost" in a closing-doors status. They really need better engineers and programmers because everytime they let this happen with a device, they're tossing away their valuable customers. And they really deserve it.
And as I've been reading, the Lumia 900 is having the same problems... How sad is this?
