Strange thing going on:the physical camera button doesn't seem to trigger the camera anymore.I cannot launch the camera app with it and it doesn't do anything when the camera app is running.It was working since I got it and it just stopped working today.I tried soft reset and hard reset to no avail.

I've restarted the phone, pulled the battery and let it sit for a bit, and the camera button on the outside of the phone is still not working...I can get to the camera option through the screen, but can't take any photos.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I upgraded to DP 8.1, I developed a couple of problems that I had hoped Denim would resolve. For example, my camera button stopped working. Also, I lost the function to hold my finger on the screen to move the cursor around in text. So I can't edit messages very easily. I was hoping these were issues with the DP version and Denim would resolve the problems. But I loaded the upgrade this morning, and none of these issues are resolved. I still can't use the camera button. And I still get hold my finger on the screen to get a cursor.

If I just full press the button the camera will just take the photo, but 9 out of 10 will be out of focus because autofocus has not been triggered. If I touch the screen, the phone first focus and then shots. Is there some setting to force the autofocus even when I press fully the camera button? I want the camera button click to behave just like the screen touch. Is this possible?

When I have typed an email or text I cannot send what i have typed by using the software 'send' button (little button in lower left corner with envelope symbol). Instead i have to press the capacitive 'back' button and then press 'send'. Not a major problem but its very irritating when trying to text quickly.

View 10 Replies View Relatedhave had my iphone for almost 1 and a half years, and about 8 months ago my home button started wrecking; i would press it and it would either not open the iphone (take it off sleep mode to show lock screen) or the button would get stuck in and would start the voice control.. then about one week ago my vibrate button wasnt vibrating, even when i got a call or message or alarm... around one year ago, my camera started wrecking; like i would go into it and it would be blurry, and over the past year it has been getting worse and worse, and now i cant use my back camera at all.

Since a week, the camera is not working anymore : the camera app launches (by starting it from the start screen or camera button), but except from the app's UI, the screen remains black. and, sincerely, it is really difficult to take picture of oneself if a camera button is ON the touch screen, it is tricky and 7/10 times I accidentaly press something elese and not the camera button, and it just takes me to the side menu.
Is it possible to take on/off button or zoom/volume button (the only physical buttons on the phone) and reassign one of them to be a camera button?

I have had yellow Lumia 920 now for about 3 weeks and everything worked just fine. Yesterday evening (european time) I saw update reminders on the "shop" tile and there were 3 or 4 of them (Nokia drive+ and some others that I don't remember). I was doing something and didn't give a thought but just let the updates to be downloaded and installed and they went fine as far as I know. Today when I tried to take photos the camera suddenly dosen't work anymore.
No matter if I click the hardware button or the camera app tile, it just flip back to live tiles. Camera doesn't work on Bing search either and not on any apps that utilized the camera.I wonder if anyone else have this problem or what I should do next. I have restart the phone a few times but it didn't work. I haven't hard reset it because I have so many stuff in the phone, if there is a easy way to do it I rather not hard reset it.
lately my nokia lumia 900 has been pushing the back button and home butting while i'm watching videos. its really frustrating when watching Internet videos and i already have to wait for them to buffer and if it decides to push the back button i have to wait again.

I'm not sure if it's a hardware or software issue, but whenever I press the button to take a picture, I end up with a short 2-3 second video instead. The setting for "hold camera button" is disabled, not det to photo bursts or video. The camera icon on screen works fine, but having a dedicated camera button was a huge game changer for me.

With the addition of the Nokia camera software and it being the default, I have to unlock my phone before it goes into the camera. If I switch the button to the standard WP camera app, I can take photos while unlocked.

The icon itself looks differetn and it pulls up the screen so I can slightly see the camera at the very bottom but then bounces back to the home locked screen. What is wrong and how can I fix it. This time though, the camera icon does pop up, but when I go to click it the camera icon just "jumps" and will not open the camera option. It's very annoying for when I just want to take a picture, now I have to go through the motion of unlocking my phone and going to the camera. OH, also on the locked screen, the camera icon has two lines, both over and under it.

Does anyone know if there is a setting somewhere I need to activate, or is this likely to be a device fault? (By the way, I downloaded the latest software update and rebooted and took out the battery etc...) Everything else seems to work fine.
