When I double click the home button the camera button appears. When I push the button the home screen bounces twice but the camera doesn't open. I'm working on an iPhone 4s with updated iOS.

Ok. So my lock button stopped working on my iPhone 4 yesterday. It was 'sticky' (not clicking very well) for a few hours now it ceases to even work.
I also have a cracked screen (which occured 3 months ago now) that I tried to get replaced. Unfortunately they weren't happy that day or something and didn't grant me the one time free replacement that they seem to be giving out everywhere else. Anyway, so I decided not to pay the $180 because the crack isn't too big and it doesn't stretch too far onto the actual LCD screen.
So my question is... If I go to the Apple store regarding the lock button, will they deny me a free replacement because the screen is cracked and they will just pin the blame on that? I am still within the one year warranty too.
Also, for future reference, does a cracked screen void the free warranty replacement for any problems encountered, whether it be hardware, software or mechanically related?

I have the Iphone 4s, my screen has been cracked since 2 months after i got it in November 2011, 3 days ago my lock button started acting funny, now it is completely stuck. I went to apple store today and they will NOT replace it because the screen is cracked and the damage could have affected the button. How could all of a sudden a cracked screen make a button stuck completely? I have read alot of reviews about how some apple techs will replace your phone, and others make you pay the 200$ to get a new one. Why should i have to pay 200$ for something that is apples error? The screen crack isn't even bad?

Recently I tried to take a photo from my locked screen. Usually I just double click my home button and the camera pops right up and I can take a picture. This time though, the camera icon does pop up, but when I go to click it the camera icon just "jumps" and will not open the camera option. It's very annoying for when I just want to take a picture, now I have to go through the motion of unlocking my phone and going to the camera. OH, also on the locked screen, the camera icon has two lines, both over and under it.

Ever since I updated to IOS 5.1 when I select camera from locked screen it lifts the screen a little but doesn't go to camera, I even tried double clicking home screen and it does the same.

The lock screen button in my Lumia 1520 is not working. I cannot unlock the screen by pressing it but I can switch it off by holding it for a few seconds. I already did a couple of soft resets but the problem is still there. I can't do ah hard reset at this moment.
View 15 Replies View Relatedhave had my iphone for almost 1 and a half years, and about 8 months ago my home button started wrecking; i would press it and it would either not open the iphone (take it off sleep mode to show lock screen) or the button would get stuck in and would start the voice control.. then about one week ago my vibrate button wasnt vibrating, even when i got a call or message or alarm... around one year ago, my camera started wrecking; like i would go into it and it would be blurry, and over the past year it has been getting worse and worse, and now i cant use my back camera at all.

When I doube tap the home button to use the camera from the home screen, it sort of 'hops' up about 1/2 a cm, but then bounces back down without opening the camera app, this is only since the upgrade to 5.1. I tried a hard reset, but no joy (and no shortcut to the camera either!!)

I have an iPhone 4 that the lock button stopped working. with out the warrantee or Ins. on it. Recently my iPhone 4's lock button collapsed and it is now longer functioning. In reaction to this I visited the Genius Bar and they informed me that it could not be repaired and that I was required, due to my warranty being up, to pay £120 for a replacement. This was as much as I expected at the time. However, shortly afterwards the wifi connection stopped working and my iPhone can no longer sustain connection outwith 2m from the router.
I then phoned my insurance company with this problem, and they informed me that I willbe unable to claim for a replacement as it is a manufacturing defect and not damage. Despite my warranty being up, is there any grounds for argument that such a hardware defect, outside of my control, is reason to claim for a free or reduced price replacement from Apple? I am unsure where I stand. I have had this phone since May 2011 and it seems ridiculous that a phone that comes with a 2 month contract cannot last, without accident, for the same duration.
Doesnt show anything but siri works, and makes noise. There has been a similar thread and the solution was to restart the phone by holding down the lock and home button at the same time but my lock button doesnt work !!

Ok, so my phone is locked and when I double click on the home button to quickly access the camera button while still being locked it is not working. The icon itself looks differetn and it pulls up the screen so I can slightly see the camera at the very bottom but then bounces back to the home locked screen. What is wrong and how can I fix it. What did I do?I decided to open up the phone and tried to do this, (at 4:30 is what I did)[URL]It basically shows a guy who bonded a very very small washer to the bottom of the power button. I tried this and it didn't work, probably because my washer was a was too big, i filed it down a bit, still didn't work, so I just put it back together, i noticed a few things:After Reassembly, this happened: power button still does not work, and doesn't "click"iPhone camera app shutter does not open and the bottom right "camera/video" icons just flicker, I've concluded this is because of the front camera not working.the ear speaker for phone calls is now "crackly".I noticed my WiFi and network signal isn't as strong, maybe a bar less on WiFi and a bar or 2 less on network.
Temporary solutions:A walk around camera fix is that i installed "camera plus pro" and this allows me to take photos and video. Whenever I lock the screen, and then get a text message, the screen will stay lit for a really long time. Like longer than it used to. I usually have to end up pressing the lock button to make it go off, but not until it I realize that it's been lit for a long time.

My iphone 5 screen just stopped responding to any touch stimuli. The home button works, and Siri works, but I cannot use the screen at all. Also, my lock button hasn't worked in a few months, so I've been using Assistive Touch to lock and power down my phone. I was hoping to try to reset my phone (home+lock) and see if that worked the screen issue, but I can't find a way to power down. Any tips? Should I restore the phone with iTunes? Or is this the end of the line for my phone?
