This is a problem I've had since windows phone 7.5 on my Samsung Focus. I thought it might be isolated to that phone but I have since had the same issue with windows phone 8 on a Nokia Lumia 920.
View 4 RepliesJust got the Lumia 920 last week. However I noticed while talking on the phone for just 10 -15 mins the phone's earpiece gets really hot (Phone is on the AT&T LTE) . I had the Lumia 900 before this and never had an issue like this. I have shut off location services and reboot my phone. Is this normal?

I have a Lumia 900 with Rogers (Canada), post update. I can't seem to hear well when earphones/earbuds are connected, even with the volume at 30/30 (I can hear a bit at 30/30 when there is no ambient noise, but can barely hear anything when I try to use the device at the gym). The spearkers are nice and loud when no earphones are connected. I've tried with 3 different earphones (including the ones that came with the phone) that all have the same problem. I didn't have this problem with my previous Samsung Focus.

So far, other than problems that will be corrected in the next update, I am experiencing a low volume, when talking with someone in the loud speaker. Even at 30/30, I have to become closer to the phone to ear what the other person is saying. The problem seems to be related to the calls in the using the loudspeaker only because when listening to music or videos the loudspeaker volume seems to be ok.

Now Nokia has finally released the much anticipated WP 7.8 update. Got it installed and to my surprise, the audio volume via "Nokia Monster purity headset" is too low. It feels that I am playing the song @ volume "15", although the volume is set to "30"
Nokia, have a second look at your firmware and release a patch to pump up the music volume. Not everyone wants to listen music at "Super Low Volume"..
i have a lumia 820 that i purchased 2 days ago. today, i opened the case to see where the microsd card would go and then put the back piece back on the phone.tonight, i wanted to watch a Internet video and when i pushed up on the volume button, it wouldn't go up, only down. the usual click was gone too. i opened the case to see if something got stuck and the little copper thingee is missing for the volume up button. i can a little bit of it sticking out from where it used to be?

However, when I make/recieve a phone call, even when the volume is turned up to the max, it's still too low compared to my iPhone when paired with the same headset. View 5 Replies View RelatedWhy is it that the alarm volume does not change if you change the phone volume setting on the 1-30 scale. The alarm volume level is insanely loud, and s always the same whether you phone volume setting is on 1 or 30.
It would be very nice if the volume of the alarm could be changed as well as currently it scares the s..t out of me every morning when it goes off.
I've been having problems with my Lumia 800's headset (the official one supplied with the phone). First of all the microphone stopped working then, whilst listening to audio, the volume turned itself down to zero, without any action on my part. If I unplug the headset I can turn the volume back up, but as soon as I plug the headset back in in turns itself down again.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am experimenting a very weird and annoying problem with my Lumia 900. Since last night the volume level during the phone call became suddenly very very low. I can hardly hear the other speaker. Apparently this is only happening during a phone call in normal mode. If I press the loudspeaker button, for example, I can hear the conversation perfectly as usual. Same using the earpiece: I can hear and talk without any problem. Moreover, the audio output appears to be OK outside the phone call itself: when using apps, music, games or any other feature except the phone call, I can't spot anything abnormal in the volume level, everything appears to work properly.
I would like to point out that:1) the volume level during the call is set to the max. level as usual (10/10)2) the master volume of the device, as set though both right-hand buttons, is set as usual to the max. level (30/30).3) I turned off and on the device at least five times since last night. Unfortunately the problem persists4) I made several tests by dialing different numbers, with no success: the volume level is still very very low during a call.5) I did not notice any other problem in the last days nor the device suffered any "catastrophic" event.In other words, I can only hear a speaker during a phone call either keeping the loudspeaker always on or using the earpiece. It's like my call volume were set to 1 or 2, while it is actually set to 10!I am really surprised, I bought my Lumia 900 end of June and I was very, very satisfied so far
I cannot change the music volume at all. If I try to change the volume with the buttons on the side of the phone as directed in the "how to" guide then nothing happens. The ringer volume changes, but the music does not.

BTW, my phone has rebooted itself about 5 times since I got it on Friday.
The volume on my new Nokia Lumia 920 will randomly go very low. So far this only happens when the phone has no need to make any sounds for a long period such as playing music or videos. It goes to like volume of 1/30, but increasing it to 30/30 does nothing to increase it. only putting it to 0/30 mutes as normal but still doesn't go past 1. I have had to restart my phone several times in order to temporarily fix this issue. My phone is completely up to date with the software.
View 14 Replies View RelatedHeMy Lumia 800 currently suffers from bugs in Nokia Music: you listen to some music and often after 20/25min the volume goes off (sets it to 0) and you can't recover it. If you don't try to restart the phone and leaves the volume at 0, the sounds may occasionally recover at 30 before disappearing again after a couple of secs. I could not find any fix in this forum, is there any?

After updating my L 800 from Nokia Care the ear piece volume loudspeaker volume and head phone volume reduced 35%! It comes back when flash it to WP 7.5....Need urgent fix for this with the official role out of WP 7.8 update...otherwise it will be tough time for time you....So many loyal customers like me....

is there any way to disable the volume limitation or do I need to return my Lumia for a different handset that offers music at a reasonably audible level?
I'm on my second 900 now and both have had this problem. The output volume for the headphones is extremely low even at 30/30. I feel like max volume should be loud enough that I never need to use it. I find myself not even being able to hear music at 30/30 when I'm downtown or on the subway. It feels like medium volume on anything else and it seems like it should really be 20/30.
I've posted this on other forums and it seems like all the phones are the same. Can Nokia just implement a simple sofware fix for this? Its riduclous that this got through the testing phase. Do they even know about it?
I was given my nokia lumia 800 as a Christmas present last year so I've had it 9 months now as up until this problem its been a great phone. Yesterday I went to watch a video and there was no sound, I checked the volume settings, made sure the volume was up to fall and I even reset my phone. If I put my ear the speaker I can just about hear it. If I make a phone call I can hear the other person fine but if I put them on loud speaker I can't so its the speaker on the bottom of the phone.

When I listen to radio the volume setting of 1 is often loud enough, if I then put it in my pocket I mis all calls as it is not loud enough. If I set it back at level 25 I get woken up at night for incoming mails... BTW, why can't I even define (off-)peak synchronisation intervals for my mails?

View 10 Replies View RelatedI really have two issues involving the headphone jack. When I plug the headphone in, the volume will occasionally drop to zero and then no longer go up. A power off fixes this. A second thing I discovered is that sometimes the microphone does not work after plugging in my headphones. I first noticed this when I was trying to use the speakerphone in my car with the line out through my stereo.I started using voice control and I noticed that the microphone was not picking up any sound. I could tell this because of the visual waveform display.

I have had my 950 for about 15 hours now and this morning it has restarted no less than 6 times after about 15 - 30 minutes. Not doing anything with the phone, it is just sitting there on my desk plugged into the computer and it restarts. When setting up my phone I used the restore of a backup created from my Lumia 925 so it was not technically a fresh install.

Unfortunately, the screen keeps timing out after a minute. I found under settings->lock screen that there's a setting for this. It looks like 5 minutes is as long as I can set this to. View 24 Replies View RelatedIs there a known issues with the 950XL (or Win 10 in general) regarding wifi stability. My 950XL refuses to stay connected to the 5.0GHz wifi network. After reboot it will find and connect to the network fine, but after about 10 to 15 minutes the connection drops. When I go to the available wifi list, all the 5.0 GHz networks are missing and only the 2.4 GHz ones are offered. The only way I have found to get the phone to find the 5.0 GHz ones was forcing a reboot.

It works for 1 or 2 minutes and then it stops working for 2 or 3 minutes, this is a loop ! if I don't use for a couple of hours it will work more, about 15 minutes and then stops working !!! whats wrong with may iphone, which part is damaged ?:(( when touch screen stops working, all keys work correctly, home key & others )
