Just got the Lumia 920 last week. However I noticed while talking on the phone for just 10 -15 mins the phone's earpiece gets really hot (Phone is on the AT&T LTE) . I had the Lumia 900 before this and never had an issue like this. I have shut off location services and reboot my phone. Is this normal?

View 1 Replies View RelatedBlack 16GB Nexus 5 here. My in call volume using the earpiece is very very low since the 4.4.2 update. I have the volume maxed out and have already cleared cache, and even data reset once. Did not work at all.
The only way to use the phone making a call is to use a headset or be indoors in a very quiet room. Even then it's hard to hear the caller using the earpiece. I always have to use a headset for making calls.
I remember the in call volume being louder before the 4.4.2 update. After the update, however, the microphone functionality is improved and people can hear me better now (compared to 4.4.0 stock). However, it's hard for me to hear them.I just wanted to see if someone else faced this problem or whether this is a manufacturing defect in my phone.
I want to like this phone so much but it keeps giving me problems. First, I am having the random reboot problem that is well documented on this and many other forums, so I won't go into that. One other thing that has been happening more frequently however is a problem with call volume. The phone will spontaneously stop using the earpiece for call audio and send the audio to the speakerphone on the back with the lowest volume setting. Adjusting the volume while in the call does not change anything, nor does turning on/off the speakerphone.This occurs during both in-coming and out-going calls. All other phone audio plays at normal volume levels, its just the audio during calls. It is extremely frustrating as the only way to fix it is to reboot the phone, so I have to hang up with whoever I am talking to and call back. Does anyone know any way to solve this problem? I'm hoping the pending Gingerbread update fixes these issues, but I am ready to return the phone and get something else if these aren't fixed.

For months I was happily using my Nexus 5 with a SoundID 300 earpiece. Pushing the call button went into a dialer dialog with voice prompts and responses. Suddenly a few weeks ago it started going to the Google Now (aka Google Search?) function (the one you get when you say "OK Google"). Although it will generally recognize the same voice commands as the dialer dialog, there are no voice prompts or responses, so if Google Now has crashed or decides to prompt on screen for "OK or Cancel", I have to get the phone out and look at it to see why it didn't dial.

Not doing anything with the phone, it is just sitting there on my desk plugged into the computer and it restarts. When setting up my phone I used the restore of a backup created from my Lumia 925 so it was not technically a fresh install.

I've tried incoming and outgoing calls, on handset, speaker, wired headset, and bluetooth - nobody can hear me and I can't hear anyone. Volume is up nice and loud.
Music works through the speaker and wired headset, and the mic in the headset and phone work in the diagnostics app.

I just got my Icon from the store this morning, and am back at work now! The biggest issue I have now is I put it on my charging stand, and it works great. Unfortunately, the screen keeps timing out after a minute. I found under settings->lock screen that there's a setting for this. It looks like 5 minutes is as long as I can set this to. Sometime the touch screen freezes and does not respond when there is an incoming call. None of the buttons also work. Once the call gets disconnected from the other end, the phone goes back to normal and a missed call indication appears in the call tile.

When I am outside and I receive a call I can barely hear the person!! I've pushed the volume button up to 10 during a call but I still can barely hear a thing! I've had to resort to selecting loudspeaker to be able to hear anything. Obviosuly this isn't ideal!

And both did this - when on a call with the headset plugged in and the mini USB plugged into a computer or wall socket, the screen would lock me out.
If I pressed the side button to get the lock screen - nothing. The call in progress would still be there, but the device would not allow me to do anything until I either unplugged the mini USB or pressed the side button enough times for it to return and show me the call screen.
