Nokia Lumia :: Screen Shattered On 800?

I've had my cyan Lumia 800 for just over 3 months now and despite the battery life issue - which still hasn't been resolved for me as the 11500 update hasn't been rolled out to my phone - it's a great phone and I love the smooth WP7 interface, the aesthetics of the device, and the built-in Nokia apps like Drive and Mix Radio.So I was horrified when I got out of the car yesterday and my phone slipped out of my pocket, hit the pavement, and the screen shattered and went dead. Even the most careful of smartphone users will have the odd accident like this with their phone and I wouldn't have been shocked to see a scratch, but I would have expected the polycarbonate body and gorilla glass screen to allow it to withstand breaking from a fall of less than 3 feet.

my phone sliped from my hand and bang , front screen shattered. took it to apple store and they told it will cost around 120£ to fix it. the lady told me to take backup as they will replace the phone.will they replace the phone or change the screen.

Dropped the phone and it works fine, but, there is now a shattered display across the screen. No crack or broken lens. Is there a way to reset this or do I need to take to shop and have replaced?

i just broke the front glass screen for my ipone 4s, its still working but the whole screen is shattered, is it replacable, my iphone is still under warranty, will it be free?, it is fixable??, i bought the phone from paris, but i am heading to the states in a week, and i live in egypt, but apple doesn't have any official retailers in here, where i can fix it?

I shattered my iPhone 5s screen (ios8). Tried to back my data up to an old iPhone4 (ios6). I can't back up via the cloud because the phone I'm baking up to is running an older version of iOS than the phone with my data on it. I'm trying to back up from iTunes but can't b/c I can't enter my passcode on the shattered screen. I only have backups on the cloud. I have never backed this phone up to my computer. Because I was told iCloud back ups were good enough. But now I'm stuck in a catch 22.

Today I had a little accident and my iPhone 4 fell out of my lap onto some concrete...needless to say the back is completely cracked and shattered. I'm really lucky that it was the back and not the front. The functionality of the phone is absolutely fine. Everything still works, even the camera. I put a case on the phone now, so you can hardly tell there's anything wrong with it since the screen is fine and the case covers the back.

When moving away the lock screen.. my apps and everything on the screen looks very out of color and blurry. But it will go back to normal in maybe 2 too 10 seconds.It's been happening frequently and was wondering if it has happened to anybody else and if there's a way to fix it.

I have my Nokia Lumia 710 and from the beginning there is like a black dot on the screen. First i thought it is above the screen so i could wipe It...but it is not! In is actually under the screen and it really bothers me when i am on white background, on internet or playing games.

I dropped my iPhone 4s from 2 feet above the floor and the whole front glass shattered. When I enter my serial # online it says Repairs and Service Coverage: Active. I am still under 1 year warranty but I am sure this wont be covered. Will it cost a flat $199 to get it replaced at the Apple store? Do they replace it right there in store or does it get sent in? Should I have someone (capable) self-repair if the phone is still in 1 year warranty?

I recently bought a new Nokia lumia 710 & it's having a problem with it's screen. It's sreen flicker somtime when I switch off the screen with the Hardware button on top. The screen light keeps blinking but nothing is shown on the screen. Is that a hardware problem or a software issue?? Can restoring the phone to factory setting help??What troubleshooting steps can I take to resolve the issue before taking it to the Service Centre?

I recently got a Nokia 822 phone. In three days, the phone's screen froze three time and wouldn't turn back on. I tried plugging the phone into the wall in case the battery was dead. I tried calling the phone. The only thing that worked was pulling the battery and holding the volume down/power button to reboot the phone.

Found an interesting bug on a few lumia 900's (i have tried it on 4 and all show it) that may affect certain games, especially Harbor Master for me since it involved drawing lines to the screen edge.The problem is that if you draw one straight line from the left edge of the screen to the right edge (or the other way around), the end of the right edge (about 1 cm wide) doesnt acknowledge the line drawing unless the line is drawn very slowly. To reproduce the bug, open the nokia diagnostic tools and run the 'Touch' test. To get the diagnostics tool if you dont, just dial ##634# using the touchpad.Draw a line fro the left edge to the right edge quickly and you will see what i mean. Or from the right to left. The same thing happens if drawn from top to bottom.

Just got my 920 and the screen is flickering noticably, its is bareable when i use black background, but with white background or watching pictures it is really bad :/
What is the proper action to take here? Do i wait for a fix and then download it or do i have to return the phone because it is a hardware issue? I also have a friend who got his phone a few days ago and it has the same problem but not quite as severe.
if i had to guess i would say this have to do with the dimmer componen for the background lightning of the lcd panel, but i have no way to verify this.Other than this i totaly love the phone so i hope this could be fixed with an update, dont want to spend any time w/o it

about 1 month back, my lumia 900 has the following problems : screen not responding, screen becomes sensitive (things moving by itself etc), soft resetting brings a funny problem, screen scrolling by itself and goes to settings of applications, won't stop until i did another soft reset. i have to soft reset few times for the phone to be stable.then i did a hard reset abt 3 weeks back. reinstall everything, the applications. the phone was stable but last week faced the same problems i mentioned above. i brought the phone to nokia service center and explained everything. got it back last weekend. i asked what they did. They only updated back the firmware (which i could have done myself via zune).unfortunately today, i faced the same problem. Quite frustrated as i expect quality from Nokia. don't know if this is a hardware problem or s/ware. if i bring to nokia service center, they maybe do another firmware reinstallation. really hope from some insights from nokia.with lumia 920 coming , the resale value will surely drop. i will be forced to let go the phone if problem cannot be solved and suffer a big drop in second hand value.

i noticed that after making a call for arount 10 mts or when the phone heats up a bit, the screen starts to flicker in all open windows even lock screen, i tried all options (auto brightness on/off , low to high) , changed theme (dark, light) , colors), phone restart.

This is probably an error 40, but I can't fix it. - There's a space in the top of the homescreen that was filled to begin with - now there's a gap (see the picture) and I can't make the app icons 'fit' to the top anymore.
