Nokia Lumia :: Get Media Content Now?

Received my Lumia 920 a week ago, I have been fighting with Vodacom in South Africa for 5 days now around getting MMS working. Vodacom say its Nokia who have to provide me with the MMS settings but I cannot find any solution to getting MMS working on the Vodacom network. If I try send a MMS, I get an error saying my message cannot be sent and when I receive a message it says "Get media content now", if I click on the message, the phone reports "getting media content" it plays a sound but nothing further happens, I then receive repeated notifications saying "Get media content now" about 10 or 15 times over a period of an hour?

I received a text message that says "Media content in this message".
When I select it, it says "Get Media content now (1kb)".
When I select that, it says "Getting media content... (1kb).
But I do not see the media content!

I'm new to the icon and am loving it so far. My family mostly has iPhones, when they send group texts I get the message "get media content now". When I click on it I can't get the content of the message. My family has tried enabling SMS on their phones but it has had no effect.

I just received my Lumia 710 from maintanance. I added my Live account information in Mail and account in Settings. However, in the Content to synchronize there is no option for Calendar, only Mail. Now I cant sync my Live calendar to my Lumia. Outlook and Live and syncing normally. Should I change the server address in Live setting in Lumia (m.hotmail.com) or what.

My friend has a Samsung Flash Windows 7.5 phone which is 480x800 resolution with a 3.5" screen. This shows 9 rows of tiles, 9 rows of missed calls. I have my new Nokia Lumina 920 with 1280x768 resolution which is approximately 300% more than Samsung Flash. It shows just barely 6 rows of tiles and 6 rows of missed calls. Email text is so big that I need to scroll a lot in my Nokia 920.Eventhough Nokia 920 screen size is so huge, the content which it displays is only 70% of what a much smaller device currently shows. This really annoys me. Whats the use of a bigger screen and a better resolution when it can't show more as content. Forget making the font size larger, you will see only 4 or 5 lines in any of the lists.
I really hope Microsoft releases a update to enable us reduce the font size still further and read more from the Lumina. I want a quick glimpse of all new emails with minimal scroll. Compare any other phone - iPhone, Samsung Flash Windows phone, Motorola Atrix, etc., all show much more number of emails than the Windows in Nokia 920.

i have a 8 gb white 4th gen itouch & i cannot press the apply button or sync buttton in my itunes library & i cannot add any music or apps to my itouch. i can add apps but i have to download it off the itouch itself. and it will not let me drag music to it.

I just got my 9650 yesterday. The saleswoman inserted my media card from my Tour (which had also been in my Curve 2). Everything seemed fine. This morning when I connected my Bold to the computer, I got a pop-up box on the BB which said, "Content rights do not match the device. Please insert the media card back to the right device."What's this all about? Nothing seems to be amiss with my media, although my pics do seem to be a bit slow to load when I try to view a whole folder.

i had an app on my iphone called 'filrbrowser' - this allowed me to access an External Hard Drive i have plugged into my wifi Router and play music/movies. now, on my lumia 820 is there an app that will do this?

We have just got a lumia 610 for my wife and we are happy with it so far.Problem we have is her son has sent her a couple of photos by SMS, the caption reads "Get media content", which we click on, it turns to "getting media content" for a few seconds before reverting to the previous message, but no photo? no link to the online O2 mwessage centre.

I know that I can connect my Lumia 920 through a cable with my PC, but is there a way to stream wirelessly to it? For example, I would like to stream pictures or videos directly to my PC. I am an O2 and cant send or receieve media messages. I had added an APN (had to do this manually) so I can get onto the internet and if I go to settings now, it only allows me to edit APN - nothing about MMS.

Do my media messages result in data usage because my internet/MMS apn is not added? I honestly have no idea what those are, but I thought that my WiFi/unlimited texting plan would cover my media messages. However, I have to enable my cellular data to send/receive such messages. If the only way for me to send picture and video messages is through using my cellular data, it feels like a waste

I am using BB 8520 Curve with the default external memory (2 Gb). I have music files (*.mp3, *.wma) as well as picture files (captured through the device itself).What happens is, from time to time I am unable to access the media card content. If I go to music, I can see the entries if I go to any of the menu filters, All Songs/Artists/Albums/Genres .. etc. But when I click on the song itself, the music player opens with a message "This playlist contains no valid songs". Also, during this time, my device rings with the default tunes on a call, even if I have set custom profile ring tones.Similarly, if I go to Media->Pictures, I can see a thumbnail preview of the photos, however on trying to open a file it just presents me with a black screen. The contact picture or the desktop custom wallpaper, however is rendered as expected.If I reboot my device by taking off the battery, things get working again.I am experiencing this issue quite frequently, almost every day. I tried to find out a trend for the behaviour, however could not make any such consistent observations.Does anyone in the forum has faced similar issue? Any inputs would be highly appreciated. This is really being a disturbing trait with my otherwise so cool BB.

I'm coming from the Android/Apple ecosystem. I used an Android phone as my daily driver and an iPad for all my media stuff. My Lumia is a perfect blend of both due to the screen size. My only issue is that I can't find apps to stream content from my PC to this phone.

How to clear up the whatsapp sent media in my phone.
Previously in android, i used to just delete the sent media from the file manager. Since the folders of windows are not accessible, so i dont know how to delete them in my lumia 1520 windows phone.

I just bought a brand new renault clio with the medianav system on board. Whenever i am streaming music over bluetooth to the car it has serious skipping issues. Like it will be practically unrecognisable as music, however if i pause and then play again it will work but there is always occasional skipping throughout the song. The thing is music plays fine over my bluetooth speaker at home so i don't think its actually the phone.

Using media browser on wp to stream movies from pc?I can enable the sub while watching via IE, but the sub won't show on wp deviceIt seems that the wp apps has no option whatsoever about the subtitle being on or off.I mostly watch .mkv.It works on the Plex, it's just I'm not a big fan of plex media server...

I have just bought a new Golf R (amazing car btw) but neither of the USB sockets in the armrest or the dash cubby hole charge my phone. Is this because it is a USB C type cable? It is not a deal killer as I usually charge my phone at either end of my journey but it is annoying!
Another annoying issue is that the Media player does not display the music album art but that is probably a Windows 10 issue and might get updated as the OS is updated.

i have been unable to view any flash content on my web browser of nokia 5230 since i have bought it.
when i open desktop version of Internet or metacafe, instead of playing the video there appears a small "flash 9 needed icon" in the video. on the mobile version of these sites the browser opens the realplayer.

After being a huge advocate for Windows Phone I'm just about done with it after moving from WP7.5 and Zune to WP8.I can't sync anything using Windows Media Player. I put stuff in the sync list and it looks like it syncs then I check the sync status and everything has "error" in the status and nothing has copied. Doesn't matter if it's songs I own or subscription - nothing syncs through media player. I think I did get it to sync to my wife's 620.
According to MSFT this will not let me sync Zune subscription which is another issue I have - and the biggest issue is that I can't sync playlists period. They show up with 0 songs when I sync using the Windows Phone App. But I was hoping using Media Player might solve that but it's not working.I'm using WIndows 7 on my PC. I'm a long time Zune user/promoter. Right now I can't get music on my phone in any reasonable fashion.

Am on win 8. All my media files are showing up in phone mem + sd card memory. I once deleted all media from phone, removed my sd card and inserted it back but still media files seems to occupy both phone + sd memory.

I just bought a black E52 with a 1 Gig card. However, I swapped the 1 Gig card at the outlet by paying extra for a 2 gig card. Later i found out that I had made a mistake since the memory card contains software and all. Can anybody help me where to download the contents that come with the original card.Or what actually software does the memory card come with e.g. ringtones, games, themes etc.
