i have been unable to view any flash content on my web browser of nokia 5230 since i have bought it.
when i open desktop version of Internet or metacafe, instead of playing the video there appears a small "flash 9 needed icon" in the video. on the mobile version of these sites the browser opens the realplayer.
Is it wise to flash my Nokia 5230 with custom firmware?

The statement above clearly states that users can't browse Flash built web content, but is the App packager a sign that Safari in iPhone OS 4.0 will support Flash? We know for a fact that the iPhone can technically run Flash. We don't know if it can run in Safari. We also don't know if Apple is willing to support Flash from a business ($$$) standpoint.

Vodacom say its Nokia who have to provide me with the MMS settings but I cannot find any solution to getting MMS working on the Vodacom network. If I try send a MMS, I get an error saying my message cannot be sent and when I receive a message it says "Get media content now", if I click on the message, the phone reports "getting media content" it plays a sound but nothing further happens, I then receive repeated notifications saying "Get media content now" about 10 or 15 times over a period of an hour?

Later i found out that I had made a mistake since the memory card contains software and all. View 3 Replies View Relatedi am a bit surprised that i cannot find software that does this.at home i have a network with a NAS, it also runs a mediaserver.i use this to have all my music and pictures available for all computers in my house.the N97 mini i bought about a year back was then promoted to have upnp av and network protocols. i suspected by now there would be players available that could either browse your home network or play back from the mediaserver.i have tried: SYmplayer, that shows me all computers with shared folders and i can play music from those, but not my NAS.(Fritzbox 7340 with NAS and mediaserver enabled)The nas is visible from vista and win7, but on xp you can only map it if you know the ip adress.
Symbian also only sees the windows computers in the networkSince there is no way to type in the path to my nas from symplayer it does work.i have also tried core player(core codex), but had no luck since the certificate was outdated and files to sign it yourself were not present.same was for 10live media...some asian player, but i accept if that is the only opneoggplayer/winamp seems also been discontinued or not workingi could not find anything else.strange that there is no interest in those tools, but if somebody else has bright ideas i would really like to know.it seems that nobody want to make their n97mini a mediaserver or something that can grab files from their network shares.
I just installed Nokia PC Suite 7.1.40.6 on my Windows 7 laptop. It connects to my 6820 no problem via bluetooth. The Communication Center seems to work fine for accessing Contacts. And the File Manager works too.
The Content Copier appears to work properly as well until the last step. It even creates a 1/4 MB file on my laptop while it's processing the phone data. But it deletes the file once the process completes.
The exact message at the end of the process is:

I just received my Lumia 710 from maintanance. I added my Live account information in Mail and account in Settings. However, in the Content to synchronize there is no option for Calendar, only Mail. Now I cant sync my Live calendar to my Lumia. Outlook and Live and syncing normally. Should I change the server address in Live setting in Lumia (m.hotmail.com) or what.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy friend has a Samsung Flash Windows 7.5 phone which is 480x800 resolution with a 3.5" screen. This shows 9 rows of tiles, 9 rows of missed calls. I have my new Nokia Lumina 920 with 1280x768 resolution which is approximately 300% more than Samsung Flash. It shows just barely 6 rows of tiles and 6 rows of missed calls. Email text is so big that I need to scroll a lot in my Nokia 920.Eventhough Nokia 920 screen size is so huge, the content which it displays is only 70% of what a much smaller device currently shows. This really annoys me. Whats the use of a bigger screen and a better resolution when it can't show more as content. Forget making the font size larger, you will see only 4 or 5 lines in any of the lists.
I really hope Microsoft releases a update to enable us reduce the font size still further and read more from the Lumina. I want a quick glimpse of all new emails with minimal scroll. Compare any other phone - iPhone, Samsung Flash Windows phone, Motorola Atrix, etc., all show much more number of emails than the Windows in Nokia 920.
I create new email ( Gmail ) in my N900 via email in setup. The send & receive are fast and fantastic EXCEPT for reading the emails. it appears all in one single Line.How to view the mails in a normal view where is doesn't go all in one line & scrolling all to right?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI lost all my Text Messages eventhough I did a backup and restore using Content Copier. What I did was:
1) Backup my n95 using Content Copier (backup log is shown down below)
2) upgraded my n95 to the latest firmware and it was a success
after the upgrade it deleted all my Text Messages
3) Restore using Content Copier: Contacts, Calendars, etc. were restored except none was restored on any of my Text Messages folders (Inbox, Sent, etc.) are all empty.
What did I do wrong given the log even stated I can transfer the Text Messages to another phone?

I am unable to download any content from the Nokia Store for around 2 weeks.Whenever I select a particular content and enter..The download option is highlighted (grey)..The download option remains inactive and I am not able to download any thing..I use a Nokia E-63..

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an 5230 model wich is working properly, expect one thing, when I switch it OFF, after it takes plenty of time while I can switch ON again. I keep pushing ON button for seconds (as in the manual) till the buzzer and NOKIA logo coming on screen but after 10-15 sec the screen turn dark again and nothing. Mobile is switched off again. I should do every time that process again for ages while finally it switch on.
View 9 Replies View RelatedJust got a new 5230.Downloaded Ovi map 3.04 and installed on phone.Downloaded Ovi Suite for PC.Opened Ovi Suite adn downlaoded a map or my province, and the UK Voice w/ street names.Downlaod was successful adn I got messege that it was transfered to phone. Ovi Suite continually claims that The map is installed on my phone.I stqrt Ovi Maps on my phone, and after acquiring a strong signal, all i get is my co-ordinates, but no map is displayed. No terrain map, no satellite map, no street map.I've installed the app to phone two more times, and re-download and installed the map to my phone more than twice. Still the same problem.I've tried with both A-GPS and phone-only GPS. All signals from cell provider are very strong.Am i missing something, or is my phone having a brain-**bleep**? Having cell-independant GPS is what led me to grab this phone, as I'm out of cell range often. This is getting very frustrating and I'm starting to pull my hair out.
