Nokia Nseries :: How To Play Network Content On N97
Jun 20, 2011
i am a bit surprised that i cannot find software that does this.at home i have a network with a NAS, it also runs a mediaserver.i use this to have all my music and pictures available for all computers in my house.the N97 mini i bought about a year back was then promoted to have upnp av and network protocols. i suspected by now there would be players available that could either browse your home network or play back from the mediaserver.i have tried: SYmplayer, that shows me all computers with shared folders and i can play music from those, but not my NAS.(Fritzbox 7340 with NAS and mediaserver enabled)The nas is visible from vista and win7, but on xp you can only map it if you know the ip adress.
Symbian also only sees the windows computers in the networkSince there is no way to type in the path to my nas from symplayer it does work.i have also tried core player(core codex), but had no luck since the certificate was outdated and files to sign it yourself were not present.same was for 10live media...some asian player, but i accept if that is the only opneoggplayer/winamp seems also been discontinued or not workingi could not find anything else.strange that there is no interest in those tools, but if somebody else has bright ideas i would really like to know.it seems that nobody want to make their n97mini a mediaserver or something that can grab files from their network shares.
I have a Curve 8520 since May 13 2012 ago after upgraded OS (I forget what version before upgrade it) to .1075 via downloading BB desktop manager, a massage appear after booting, "A browser content provider for audio/mid MIME type has already been registered with the browser." then in same day, Friday Nov. 23 2012, I caught my device can't play any media file format in media (music and video), all of MP3 and Videos wich support Curve...but, ringtone still working to play music format i have tried to play music via media card, and its same error first thing before post this, I thought its error in media player codec this issue had same in another thread and website, like reboot like pull batt and ALT+RSHIFT+DEL but they doesn't work in my device...
Have quite a lot of music downloaded from play now which i listen to quite a lot tried to play my music today and its telling me i have insufficiant rights to play it!
Ive configured it to a network connected HDD both locally (preferred option to access music collection for DNLA sharing) and also via HTTP but with no joy.
I have full 4G signal from my service provider and from my personal wifi router, but my BB has stopped receiving emails, BBMs, weather updates, and I do not have access to internet, app world and so on, but I am still able to receive and make calls.I've been like this for 3 days now.I have a torch 9810 for about 6 months, and I am using OS 7.0 b 2404 (v7.0.0.583, platform 5.0.0.736) for weeks with no problems until now. So far I have try.
- Full restart cycle
- Disable my Mobile Network and use only wifi for internet access.
- Disable Wi-Fi and use only the Mobile Network.
- Restore my first device backup when I got it right out of the box.
Is it possible to play .avi or .mkv files in Nokia N8. If yes can anyone please suggest any software which can be install in Nokia N8 to view those files
I have a new C2-01. I know it is relatively basic in function but am sure that videos that are downloaded and installed to the device ought to work. I have looked into it as much as I can and it appears the Mpeg-4 or mp4 certainly should play on the device. I have managed to install an mp4 video and only get the audio of the video but no picture. How to get everything working - either which types of video format I need to use or whether a video player needs to be installed. I wish to use it on a monitor rather than the small phone screen via the av connection lead that nokia uses on many of its phones.
I've just bought a used phone the old users reset it back to factory settings, the phone is locked to T Mobile i recently got a new t mobile sim card it loads up fine but i notice that it says on mobile network 'network unavailble' seems to not be connected to a network even though it should be connected to T mobile.when i click on it in the operator selection i choose T Mobile but it says 'no access' i also cant make any calls on it when i do any call it says 'emergency calls only'
I've got the Nokia N8 and I haven't been able to download any games onto my phone. I always use WLAN and am able to access the internet (including the Ovi store page) at all times. However, once I click "download" and it asks for the username and password, it always has the error "Network Error - Please Try Again". I keep trying a few times, and the connection is timed out.I have this cool phone but I can't play any games on it!
setting in symbian belle that i may have toggle that switches the phone from 3g to 2g. Its been stuck on AT&T's 2g edge network for the last 2 days.I took out my sim card and placed it in my trusty E71 and 3g works fine, so its not the carriers problem. I really hope this 701 isn't faulty. I already had to return one because of a defective accelerometer. They don't seem to make Nokia's like they used to.
I bought a used Nokia N8 (without sim) which was reset to factory settings by the last owner.i used my sim on it and it loads up fine but i cant register the sim card because it doesnt have a mobile network available? i also cant phone with it etc. when i try to find the mobile network it says no access
My Nokia N97 Mini, about 1 year old, suddenly decided it did not want to get any reception at all. I have travelled via train to different places for work and such and noticed it still was not getting reception. I have also tried restarting the phone, trying my sisters sim card and none of this seemed to work.
I'm coming from the Android/Apple ecosystem. I used an Android phone as my daily driver and an iPad for all my media stuff. My Lumia is a perfect blend of both due to the screen size. My only issue is that I can't find apps to stream content from my PC to this phone.
I currently have an N86 which is pretty good as far as i'm concerned. The only things i can fault it on are a rather flaky operating system which tends to crash a bit too often and a very fragile screen cover, but for the most part i can live with these issues.I'm currently due for an upgrade on my contract and would like something that does much the same as the N86 does, but the sticking point is the FM Transmitter function (referred to as "Play by Radio" on some handsets) which i use a lot. Neither Nokia nor any third party seems to produce a list of current handsets which has this functionality built in, perhaps because its use is restricted in some territories and thus varies.
When I receive e-mails on my N8 with an appendix video file with a " .mov" extension it is not possible to open these files and it is not possible to save the files.
I tried playing some music on my blackberry today and it said "unable to play content". First I thought it was my memory card then I tried playing some voice notes and it cant even play that.
I just got the Xperia Play and I'm try to play the preploaded games like Ashpalt 6 or Crash Bandicoot. I have to download content to play them but every time I get a error message after it tries to dowload for a few minutes and the yellow status bar goes up a little bit. I've down a settings and factory restore and get the error message every time. While its download my phone will go to sleep and wont respond when hitting the home button. Do I need a new phone?
From time to time my N8(Belle) will not connect to my WiFi. When I look at the wifi-list my network is listed as "known", but not connected to. When I press on it the only options are Details and Delete the AP. I can't force the phone to connect to a specific AP, which would be nice.If I turn the phone off and on again, it finds the Wifi and connects to it just fine. But it really shouldn't be necessary to reboot it in the first place.
suddenly my nokia 5800 is saying connection to wlan network lost when am on the internet using my wifi at home. It only did this rarely before but today its every 30 seconds to 1 minute (basically its impossible to load up anything....
I have an N8 which has 3 options for network mode - dual mode, 3G or GSM.I have absolutely no idea what any of these mean or what to select !The reason for my question is that I had to put my sim card into another phone for a couple of days and now I've put it back I cannot send texts or make any calls - I can receive them and get on the internet but that's it so I was wondering whether the network mode option has any effect?
my phone was working well downloading videos last last month but now, when I click on the download link of the video, nothing pops up, and when I click watch button, it doesn't play.
My new Nokia 700 cannot play all video that played perfecly on N8. Why? I hoped new more poverfull hardware can handle more codecs. Very disappointed. Any chance to upgrade from nokia firmaware?
I just recorded a video and now I am so pi**ed off case every time I go to play it I get the error "unable to play media clip I move it to my pc and not WMP or VLC can play it
