I purchased a Lumia 920 on Friday 11/9/2012 from at&t and on Monday 11/12/2012 it died and will not power-up. I returned to the at&t store but they don't have any replacements in stock. They tried to find one in any of their stores in the Bay Area (San Francisco). My question is: when should we expect to have new shipments of the Lumia 920.
View 19 Replieshad my phone for 3 days now, i noticed that charging it was kinda annoying from a dead phone, last night it died and i was going to do a full charge cycle, i put it on change before i went to bed, it vibrated to say its connect and i left it, woke up this morning unplugged and it wouldnt turn on so i left it a couple of minutes and tryed again still nothing, i tried plugging it to my computer and it came up saying i need some drivers and need to format the phone i ignored it, the battery symbol came up then the vodafone screen left it for a while then tried turning it on again and nothing just black, not vibes or nothing, now i dont even get a vibe when i plug it into my my computer or power source....

View 5 Replies View RelatedThe Nokia Lumia 900 got BRICKED within a week of getting it....Here is what happened, last night I could not get my phone recharged on time and as I was doing something the phone suddenly froze and died as it had ran out of juice. I left it there in that state for awhile and then plugged into wall...first the bottom three buttons lit up, a white screen, then a big battery showed up with with a bit of red charge, then a nokia page and then finally an att page with the words "rethink possible".....and it shuts off and starts this loop.
View 19 Replies View RelatedNow i have a dead Nokia 800 sitting buzzing away every 1.5 minutes, This is not a conection prob it's software it just doesnt have eneough energy to reboot its self and go into charge mode, it way too sensitive and obviously a big issue for Nokia.Well after reading this thread and then HAVING to register to post and a loyal Nokia customer for over a decade. i was so looking forward to the 920. Think i'll try Android smart next NOW ADD THIS UPDATE

And I don't see any settings for that. Seems like the hardware buttons are broken... Need a repair?
I have a very peculiar issue with my 920. The phone sometimes does not lock when I press the power button. That time, it does not even get locked automatically. I always reboot when it does that; was even about to return the fone coz of this but no device is perfect.
View 3 Replies View Relatedbeen trying to keep nokia lumia 900 charged up at all times...last night went to bed with little over 50% power in battery and in about 2 hours, battery was totally dead.. I try not to let battery go totally dead before putting on the charger.. what caused the battery to suddenly lose all the power it had in a couple of hours... I can't afford this battery to do this when traveling.. I need the phone.. and where I am .. I have no idea how to get a battery changed in this phone... since I cannot buy a new battery and install myself.. Don't know why Nokia made a phone that the consumer cannot change the battery in it by himself... this is not good... I can't have the battery reaching 50% power and then suddenly have it go dead in short time... I had hard time getting it to respond to the electricity charger this morning when I plugged it in... I need to make sure I have battery life when out of the country and I do the best I can to keep it charged up all the times...

I'm very use to use the always on display clock to check time and missed calls/messages. I found this very useful during night etc. It's not necessary to always unlock the phone... I know WP7.5 missed this feature but what about Lumia WP8? If this has still not been implemented, it's very step backwards for Nokia. I thing lot of customers are used to this function...
View 2 Replies View RelatedSInce the latest update 12070, if my phone is plugged into the mains charging when the power / wake up button is pressed, the touch screen is notally non responsive, and you cannot use the phone. If however, you reove the mains lead BEFORE pressing the power/wakeup button, everything works fine.Rolled back to previous update, everything worked fine - mains power or not, put the update back on, and the problem returned!

I know I can shut it down and then wait some amount of time and then restart it, but is there a way to just restart it without the shutdown-wait-power-on dance?
The current process is made more annoying because I don't know exactly when the 950XL has completely shutdown and thus I don't know when to hit the power button.
Use double tap to wake up phone (enable in settings, touch menu) and install Touch and Lock and pin to your start screen to tap and auto lock. I pin mine on the right hand side right near where the power button is located. Easy to tap quickly. Touch and Lock | Windows Phone Apps+Games Store (United States).There are other touch lock apps but some have a pause or splash screen before locking. Touch and Lock is instantaneous.

View 6 Replies View RelatedJust started happening today. I go to lock my phone and it does nothing. Still powers off if I hold it down, but won't lock screen.
Also all of my quick toggles disappeared from my notification center. Just left blank grey spaces. Tried setting them up again, but no go, still blank spaces. Restarted phone and that didn't work. Hard reset is completely out of the question.

Just as soon as this posted the toggles were back. Not sure what happened there.
My Nokia Lumia 1520 power button has suddenly stopped working. Things I have already tried are soft reset and hard reset without luck. I don't have the chive app installed which was supposed to cause this issue sometime ago. Also, I can do a soft reset - which means the power button works in some situations, just not with normal on/off operation.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was restoring my lumia 1520 with the windows device recovery tool back to version 8.1. After the phone had gone into the flashing mode with the red screen and progress bar, the device recovery tool stopped and I got an error in the log: Flashing failed with error 0x00040010.
I hard reset the phone with the volume down + power button. Now the phone will not turn on at all. No backlight on the screen and no vibration to confirm it is on. The battery was on 90% before it failed.
I have also tried volume down + plug in charger + power and still nothing. I am think that maybe if I open the phone and physically disconnect the battery, this could clear anything that is stopping it.
There is a lag when trying to wake the phone up. I will press the power button and it will take almost 4 seconds for the phone to wake up. This doesn't happen often, but often enough that I have to do a soft reset several times to correct the problem. Even then, it's still not 100% responsive. I'm on the latest DP and still having this issue.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have been having random power down / reboot issues with my Lumina 1020 for a few months now, usually once every 24 hours.. They haven't caused any issues on 8.0 (black update) as after the random power down the phone just rebooted and was left on the access point select screen, thus meaning alarms still go off and the correct time maintained.
Since I tried the 8.1 preview the phone would randomly power down (usually once every 24 hours) but not reboot and would remain off and would require a soft reset (vol down + power) to reboot. The downside here is alarms don't go off and calls are missed etc.
I currently have a new sim on order to rule out the sim (note the sim I use has previously been cut down to nano and now sits in a micro adaptor), the sim may work bu I don't hold out to much hope.
A friend of mine just switched from Android to WP and got the Icon. He loves the phone but is having an issue with the phone becoming unresponsive at times. When hitting the power button to turn on the screen it sometimes stays black and becomes unresponsive for 5-10 minutes before it will work. I think it may be a faulty proximity sensor...

According to HTC: Note: IfData connection is selected, HTC One automatically disconnects from the mobile network after 15 minutes when the screen is off and the data connection is idle (no download activity, streaming, or data usage). It reconnects and then disconnects periodically when the data connection is idle to save battery power.
Do these affect mobile data, Wifi, or both? Do they affect anything else?
I've left these off because I don't know how they work, and am getting fairly short battery life (10 to 15 hours, depending on use).

My Lumia 920, which is also running build 10.0.10586.29, can have just the power button held down and once I swipe away the power off prompt, it works normally and stays on just like I want.I would like to use my Qi enabled car mount but it needs to push down on the power button, causing it to constantly restart.

just got Nokia DC-16 portable charger and noticed that it only gives around 1000 mAh despite the fact that it has 2200 mAh battery inside.Charged it in full and then connected it to my phone with 1800 mAh battery. When Nokia DC-16 was discharged my phone was charged only 50%. Tried that two times with exactly the same results.So i wonder is my unit faulty or this is the performance i should expect?Found this in All About Symbian review:The DC-16's capacity is rated at 2200mAh, which is equivalent to less than two full charges of most smartphone batteries; it is also guaranteed for 500 charge cycles. Nokia say the output current is 950mA, which is quite high for a battery of this class. Anecdotally, it can quickly recharge our Lumia 800 to full (from empty).
