Is it possible to lock a Lumia so it requires a password using some kind of a command?
I've set the password counter to 30 minutes as I don't want to enter the password every time I need to use my phone. However, sometimes I'd like to password-lock the phone immediately (like today when I would have liked to leave it on a table in a client's office during lunch break). I haven't been able to find such a functionality. Am I correct it does not exist?

So now that I have my Lumia 1020 in hand the first thing I wanted to try was seeing if the Pro Cam app would quick launch with a password protected phone. It doesn't. You still have to input your password.

In call settings there is a call barring function that requires a password? T Mobile say they can do barring at network level if required but do not know what the barring password is that's being asked for on the phone, or could this be an N8 function that is not used in this case. By the way I've tried 0000, 1234, 1919 from other internet searches but no success.

At home I have a wireless router and a modem. When accessing the internet via a netbook running Windows (XP and 7), I first connect to the router and then log-on to the ISP, which I've set up as a network connection with the relevant username and password.Despite a favourable tariff for data, 3G connection here is not great. So when at home I'd like to improve browsing speed by linking to the broadband/DSL. So far I can get it to connect to the router, but I haven't yet found a way to log on to the ISP, or even somewhere to put in the account details.I'd be very grateful if some kind soul could point me in the right direction in how to configure my phone, which currently appears to be smarter than I am.

ITunes could not command to the iphone because it is locked with a password. You must enter your password on the iphone before it can be used with ITunes.

I want lock the screen or power off the phone by using a voice command if my friends grab the phone out of my hand to read what I am texting.
I want to be able to say "Hey Droid Turbo, lock the screen" or something similar. I tried the "Goodnight" command but the screen still stays on even though I have it set to be off while sleeping. How to achieve my goal?

I am working with a user who recently switched from a 9550 to a 9700 (verizon to at&t) for coverage reasons.Whenever he unlocks his keyboard (using the lock button on the top left of the device), he must enter his password to access his phone. The security timeout settings on his phone are set to 1 hour, but even if he locks the keyboard for 5 seconds, he still has to enter his password when unlocking it.The only time that the keyboard will lock and unlock without requiring a password is when it is entered/removed from the holster.We are using BES.I cannot replicate this issue with the 9650 or 9550. Unfortunately I don't have a 9700 at my disposal to play with.Is this a normal feature for the 9700?I've checked his encryption settings (disabled).We cannot disable the password function (mandated by BES policy).The issue is not that he has to enter his password, it's that he would prefer that a password not be needed unless the security timeout has expired.

I received this phone from our inventory at work. I am not sure who used it before me. But, I do not know the lock pass code. How can I hard reset it without knowing the lock password. Everything I try, I am prompted for the lock password except one attempt. I held in the up arrow, shift key and back arrow while powering on. This did some type of reset. But, the lock password still is not 12345. So, either the lock password for Nokia N97 is not 12345 by default, or this is not a true hard reset?

So I updated my Curve to the new version 5. I noticed that there was no more Keyboard Lock/Password Lock. From my previous software, it was named Keyboard Lock and I set it as one of my convenience keys. After the update, I noticed that it no longer existed. A friend of mine purchased a brand new Curve 8520 with the update already installed of course. She had the Keyboard Lock but it was named Password Lock instead. I have been searching for ways to get this feature back to my Blackberry because I feel it is more convenient rather than the "silent/mute mode" button located on the top of my device. there appears to be a bug with either Windows Phone 8 or the Nokia Lumia 920 whereby the phone will intermittently not lock. For example, after placing a call and pressing the power button to lock the phone, the lock sound is played but the phone does not lock correctly it stays on the Start screen. I have four email accounts on my Lumia 900. Two of them, which are Yahoo! accounts, are acting up. All of a sudden, periodically, the email client will ask for the passwords for both accounts (whereas the other two accounts-a work email account and a gmail account) are auto-retrieving emails just fine. What could have made my Yahoo! accounts act this way where it is asking for my password? The passwords are saved in the settings. Could it be my smpt and pop setting address?

I bought a Nokia Lumia 610 second hand today and saw it working etc. However when I got it home and turned it on it wouldn't let me operate the phone properly. I scrolled up to find it asking for a password. Now the problem is, the person I bought the phone from is not answering his texts, calls or emails and it looks like he has sold me the phone and blocked it. Is there a way around this at all as I really like the phone and want to use it.
